  • Not my cup of tea

I gave this 4 stars because there is obviously a lot of effort and love that went into this game. The art is nice, though it’s kind of subtly gory.

However, if don’t like the idea that the game’s physics and possibilities are never clear, and so you just end up jumping from puzzle to puzzle without knowing what you’re even supposed to do, then stay away from this game. There are no hints, and then new ways of interacting with the world are constantly being introduced. So instead of actually solving a puzzle logically, you just end up trying to figure out what the game wants your solution to be. There is only ever one solution to each puzzle even though logically you could think of multiple ways to solve it if you were the protagonist yourself in real life. That might not be a problem if the game didn’t try so hard to illicit an anthropomorphic response. So it gets kind of frustrating that instead of thinking the problem through you just end up guessing what the game expects of you.

  • I love it but have a suggestion

This game has inspired me with so many new things! But one suggestion for the game is that he should be able to swim or at least float.I feel that it would at least give the player a bit more advantage when they fall in the water, and if they are able to swim there should be a depth level he can’t get past until he drowns

  • Masterclass, Masterpiece, Work of Art

PlayDead’s Limbo is an example of game development we rarely see anymore. They’ve taken gorgeous art and animation, coupled with some of the most heart pounding yet subtle sound effects you’ve ever heard - only surpassed by those few previous moments when the score amplifies the situation. An entire story told without a single word or facial expression- and it’s done by leaving it up to the player. Never before have you felt like you personally are truly the one on Limbo. A perfect game.

  • Don’t buy. Much better games out there.

Glitchy, poor controls. Not worth the money.
  • Stuck in a loop

Enjoying it but....Having got past the circular saw and had the maggot removed from my head, I decided to go backwards (to find a way forwards). But, the box is now gone and it is not possible to progress in the game as every time I die it restarts before the saw! Game flaw.
It should restart at the furthest point reached.

  • Much better on larger screen

Bought this some time (years?) ago and got stuck early on, probably due to tiny iPhone screen. Fast forward to my new iPad Pro, i was looking back on purchases, and decided to give it a try, it’s a revelation on the bigger screen. Dark, mysterious and a bit sinister. I played it for about an hour on a plane recently moving through about a dozen chapters and really enjoyed it. I like it because it requires you to think a bit, and is action oriented but doesn’t require lightning fast reflexes. Recommended.

  • Great game. Don’t play this here

I love this game. I enjoyed it until the ending. And yes, the controls messed this game up. I nearly beat the game and then having to deal with the terrible controls. I love Limbo and I totally recommend it. But, please don’t buy it here. Controls can ruin a game, and it ruined it on mobile. I recommend buying this game on a console. I don’t know if I could possibly beat Limbo after writing this review, but if I do, it’ll probably take at least a couple hundred times. I love Limbo and it’s amazing detail and sounds that make the game an amazing experience. But, please don’t buy this here.

  • Hauntingly beautiful

LIMBO is a game about a small boy, trying to find his sister, and his story is told through difficult puzzles and dark chilling graphics. It is definitely a game to be played with friends, for this is the sort of game you don’t want to be playing at night, in the dark, alone. Some scenes are terrifying, and you really want to get the poor guy away from the chainsaws, electrified boards, cunning murderers, huge spider, snares, mind-controlling worms and well, the uncountable amount of things that are trying to kill him. LIMBO was a surprisingly long game and I found it was more puzzle then thrill overall. It’s prequel, INSIDE, which I played before LIMBO, was definitely better in all aspects, but is less gory than LIMBO. But anyways, the game is incredible and was (and is) 100% one of my favourite games.

  • Hasn’t been updated for awhile

After years, there’s still no full resolution support for the iPad Pro 2018
  • Great game but bad ending

I loved this game. It is very fun in a similar way to “Inside,” which is another game by Playdead games, which I would very much recommend if you have not played it yet. However, I think the controls can be frustrating at times and the ending is quite disappointing, especially the secret ending. Playdead always seems to deliver amazing games, but the only thing I would say they could improve on are their endings - a lot. After playing the rest of the game - which is so good- you just feel like “oh is that it” at the end because the ending is so bland. They need to make the ending just as imaginative as the rest of the game.
