So Many Useful Features
I’m a younger person with ADHD and their first job in the marketing field and without this app I would be doing illegal activities under a bridge by now. Thank you Planny for helping to keep my life together!
Limited behind paywall
My rating reflects on the subscription service model.
Beautifully simple but missing some basics
Love how simple the UX is, but it’s not ready for my needs yet:
1. Need to be able quickly drag and drop scheduled tasks — can only seem to do that on desktop
2. Need tasks to push back if a new task interrupts
3. Need tasks to actually appear as “events” on my calendar so no new events invade my schedule
Those are just the basics for me.

Thank you for your feedback. Would love to fix that for you, but have some questions. Feel free to send the reply to support@appsbykevinreutter.com 1) where do you want to drag and drop them and what do you want to happen then? 2) good point! 3) What do you exactly mean by that?
Lacking polish on release
I respect that the developer wants to get their product out there and in the hands of users as soon as possible. I’ll revise my review as things are fixed. For right now, there’s quite a few things lacking polish.
First the good:
- The syncing with Reminders is great. Super fast and reliable.
- Nice time blocking planning system.
- New keyboard shortcuts on MacOS
Needs fixing:
- Subtasks can’t be edited or even deleted it seems.
- You can’t turn on or off dark mode. And in dark mode the text in the task properties does not adjust. So when choosing a task repeat schedule you just have to hope for the best or wait for daylight I guess.
- There’s issues with the Live Activities timer, where when pausing a timer, there seems to be a duplicate that keeps running.
- On MacOS, hoping for adjustable text as the default font is too small
- Hoping that reading links in Reminders can be ported over to Planny X. Currently, any web links in Reminders get stripped when in Planny

Thank you for your feedback. With the latest update subtasks can be deleted. The live activities also work fine now. Could you send a mail with a screenshot of the darkmode issue? Can‘t reproduce it right now. Please sent it to support@appsbykevinreutter.com

Thank you a lot! ☺️
Delightfully fresh, yet native design
I’m primarily a stock Apple apps user because I love the stability and native design interfaces Apple provides. However, I am always eager to try third party apps that build off of the native APIs and tools Apple offers rather than creating new complex, non-native interfaces.
When I saw the previews of Planny X, I was drooling over the look and feel of the app, but a little resistant because I didn’t want to create a silo of data separate from my pre-existing iCloud Calendars and Reminders lists. I was thrilled to find that in addition to Planny taking advantage of Apple’s native designs and tools, that it also directly integrates with Apple Calendar and Reminders, allowing it to act as a companion rather than a direct replacement to the tools I already know and love. As such I can’t recommend it more!
Since it launched, I reached out to Kevin, the developer, to report a few minor bugs and glitches and was greeted with not only quick responses via email, but also with partial confirmation new updates had already been released to fix some of my problems. Even though I’ve not yet subscribed, Kevin has proven a reliable and helpful developer to the point where I’ll be happy to support him and his work.
