  • Do Not Do business with!!!

These 5 star ratings have to be old! Paid them for a shipping label when I sold my guitar. Gave them my card # , they ran it for the price and then sent me the label. 2 months later they suspend my account and I can’t get on the app to find out why? Finally after deleting the app 10 times and re-installing it allows me to see a message stating I owe them $48 for a shipping label. They want me to pay twice!!! Biggest scammers I have ever tried doing business with. I have my receipt! I don’t know what’s going on but to make it nearly impossible to figure out what was going on and then to say I didn’t pay for the label is ridiculous! I would not of been able to ship it had I not paid, and on top of that the person that bought my guitar send the money to reverb, who held my money until it arrived. I wanted them to deduct the label cost from that money but they told me I had to pay up front in order to get it. So how in the H could I have gotten the label without paying???? Terrible business

Hi there, We do advise contacting our Support Team so that we may review this further and assist with next steps. To connect directly with a specialist, you can visit the link included below: bit.ly/Reverb-Support Best, Reverb
  • Gutless and insincere, but convenient.

Even when they are provided with documentation and evidence to support a dispute or claim around a sour transaction, Reverb does not have the integrity to uphold its own consumer protections and use policies. On the several (rare) occasions that I have been a party to a disputed claim, as buyer or seller, Reverb does not do what they say they’re going to do. They quickly assess which way the wind is blowing and do whatever is easiest for them. It’s evidently all about the transaction fee for them, rather than commitment to sincerity and fairness.

I’m giving them two stars instead of one because on occasions when transaction goes well, which is most of the time, it’s a convenient site to use to find gear that is not available locally. They are also politely on script when they are being unhelpful to you during a dispute.

You might as well ignore all of their protections because they are not enforced. Buyer beware. For that matter, seller beware, too.

  • Unsafe and rude staff

They’ll mess up cash payments, take money instantly and refund very slowly. They’ll send you dodgy links via text when their payment system fails, call you paranoid when you ask for some kind of safety procedure for payments and leave you without money or an instrument. Oh and they’ll expect you to be able to pay for a likely very expensive instrument all over again, minutes later, when they haven’t yet returned your money to your account.

  • App requires update to publish listings.

Ridiculous that you have to update the app to publish a listing. Especially when it’s not possible to update on an older phone.
  • Why?

I find it completely baffling that, while the website is a joy to navigate around as both a buyer and a seller, the app is a nightmare. Seriously slow, clunky, and much of the functionality on the website is missing from the app. I suppose the ‘why’ of the title could also refer to the four stars I’ve given the app, but I like the website, so…

  • Great seller

Good communication and very helpful. He made it very easy.
  • Been using it for years, expanded my musical horizons!

I vcan literally contribute my success in music over the last 5 + years partially to reverb… I’ve been able to try gear I would have never seen, eventually finding my voice as a solo artist - bassist/producer , combining through all the great tech available to me, Audi to Midi synth bass, a completely simple to operate rig, that combines, live looping, use of Ableton Live, a incredibly uniqu pedal board/hardware situation connecting all aspects together via midi, and controlled all by my feet without ever having t take my hands I’d my bass. Add a mic with live effects, some programming and some practice and I can perform a concert as full as an entire band playing and singing all my parts, and improvising while I do it.

I’ve met great people and made a lot of $ as well. GREAT APP!

  • Could easily be a LOT better

The app is ok but it could be great.
It is difficult to impossible to search locally.

It would be great to be able to browse specific categories or all adds in a set radius of home.

Also search by price needs changing. A sliding upper and lower price setting as used in other apps instead of $0 to $1000 - $1000 to $2000 etc. I might like to search between $900 to $3000 for Eg.

Other similar apps have these features and would have me using reverb a lot more.

  • Not conducive to the musician economy

Reverb has become a key player in the used gear arena. I have used them many times. Just know that you will pay a lot if you sell there. 5% ($500 max) selling fee, 2.7% transaction fee which is not optional, AND NOW they are reporting sales over $600 per year to the IRS. They will currently hold funds from a sale until you provide them with your SS# or tax ID#. So on a $5000 sale, you will pay Reverb $385 and you’ll be paying state and federal taxes on that sale as if it’s income, on gear that you are selling for less than you paid for it. Also the buyer is paying tax on used gear that was taxed when you purchased it. California had a 97 billion dollar budget surplus for 2021. I don’t make a living selling gear. I make a living using it. And for many of us, the industry is not exactly a windfall situation. It’s nice that Reverb doesn’t hesitate to comply with tax laws. But it’s not surprising that people would rather sell directly and avoid these costs. They will suspend your account, quite quickly if you decide to do that with anyone on their site. That is the quandary of Reverb. I will go back to GS.

  • Sign in no longer works - making this app useless

I’ve been a customer for years, and this app is another example of one that has progressively gotten worse with each update.

At this point, however, the app is completely non-functioning for me since I cannot sign in to my account. I can log in via mobile browser and desktop just fine. I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times and disabled all Safari privacy features with no luck. Why can you not sign in directly through the app like you could years ago?!

The app pre-2020 was perfectly fine. Is the urge to constantly tweak the app and fix problems that don’t exist simply job security for the developers? This is the only conceivable reason I can think of as from a user experience standpoint, the current version of the app is pitiful. I’ll just use Reverb from my desktop computer from mow on.
