  • No Question

Reverb has made guitar and gear buying fun again after that E Auction ite started allowing fraud sellers and giving refunds for no reason, I had lost interest in doing online music instrument purchasing and selling and now 38 purchases and 10 sales all that have gone perfect but 1 and Reverb stepped, right in and helped resolve and remove someone attempting to sell items they didn’t have, but I digress 😎 Reverb is for Musicians by Musicians and can’t say good enough things about 99.9% of people I’ve met and buy and sell too… Thank you all on the inside of Reverb that have made this the best place to be… a word of advice, don’t get G.A.S atm3 in the morning as you might end up with a couple Bass amps you didn’t know you needed (or maybe that’s just me)

  • Great app, but super hard to contact any form of customer support

This is probably the best music equipment buying app out there, but good luck if you need to get in touch with someone from the Reverb team. At least be prepared to wait a while for a response from them. Has happened to me twice now where I needed to contact customer support and I have either had to wait a whole day before hearing from them or haven’t even got a response. And it wasn’t even the weekend - middle of the week and during regular waking hours across the US. If there was something they should work on, it’s definitely this. Otherwise, I have no complaints.

  • Seller Beware!!

If you are selling gear using Reverb be very aware that Reverb offers no help should things go awry. I recently shipped a brand new high value guitar through Reverb that ended up getting severely damaged in transit. The guitar was professionally shipped in a hardshell case wrapped in bubble wrap and must’ve been thrown off the back of the delivery truck. Reverb was unable to help at all, I was unable to even speak to a human being to describe the issue, and I effectively paid a company to throw my guitar around the United States, damage it beyond repair, and make me the seller eat the cost of a broken instrument and the shipping to break it.

I am a Reverb preferred seller with a perfect record of 80 5 star customer reviews over 5 years so I don’t write this review lightly. The moment something goes wrong as a seller, don’t expect any help. Reverb is fundamentally flawed in this way. Seller beware!

  • A must for musicians - some new features needed

    Feedback/new ideas
    - better way to quickly see/manage stores/sellers you follow > for example local shops near me utilize reverb and being able to quickly check inventory without having to search or put on a ton of filters would be super useful (I always have to search the shop name hoping their self branded tshirts weren’t taken down so I can get to the shop site from there)
    - local listings giving more power to independent musicians/sellers would be great > my local listings defaults to my home town when I’m actuality I would love to see what’s in my immediate state - or maybe have a way to set a mileage preference?
-offers can be overwhelming if not handled correctly and can sometimes result in an accidental sale or purchase > some sort of fail safe would be great to ensure no one buys something unintended in the middle of a bartering process

  • You’re making a lot of money….

Hey reverb. Thank you. Thanks for being a trusted marketplace. Your Cust service has gotten much better over the past year. Thanks for nixing scams and offering protection to buyer and seller with good judgement. Thanks for putting it out there around the entire world for music fans to take advantage of quality gear. Thank you for helping me pay my bills during tough times. You’re a steady source of income and I think most of us appreciate it. Thanks for allowing us to show off our commitment to customer service and exceptional quality with your review system. It’s a great platform! That’s the good part. The not so great part is your fee for sales. It’s pretty high. I completely understand that it’s a business for you too and that’s not free. Im not going to speak for everyone but I think the sellers don’t mind chipping in to keep it going. Would you consider a tiered system of fees that encourages quick shipment and reasonably few problem transactions. Some of us really take this seriously and take pride in our positive feedback because it means something. Some of us work hard to keep the business problem free and our clients happy and excited to come back. Just my two cents from a small fish in a much bigger pond. Thanks.

  • VoiceOver accessibility average at best

This app needs some serious organising and a serious redesign for accessibility purposes with the VoiceOver screen reader for blind users. There is a lot of unnecessary information which is tedious to scroll through… And the items are not formatted into headings so there is no easy way to navigate just through the search results. Some functionality is also quite scratchy and unpleasant to use. Some personal shops are completely broken and image descriptions are non-existent.

However the items are here and I have made several purchases so it’s just an uphill battle. I hope they improve this in the future

    Developer Response

In the 4.52 update, we updated the accessibility on the search results. We'd love to hear from you on how we did, if you noticed any improvements, and what we could do better. Feel free to reach out directly to app-review@reverb.com We also have some accessibility improvements coming to our item page soon (next release or so).
  • customer service always sides with seller

lots of sellers have sold me damaged items and get away with it because customer service will side with them every time because reverb only cares about their seller fees! i had a sellers harass me for calling out the fact that a seller was fully aware they sold me a item needing repair at full price in very good condition when it NEEDS repair. i literally had to tell then to stop harassing me! NEEDING REPAIR to work is absolutely not Very good condition! meaning 434$ spent for what was supposed to be like new means nothing to reverb. i didn’t even want a full refund. just money to repair the item but reverb will force you to get it professionally checked when a photo clearly shows a double drilled hole in the neck that was not 100% visible in the listing.

    so done with these crooks.

  • Brilliant app

So good to work with this app. I can’t abide eBay now, it’s like walking into a bizarre With everyone hawking what you don’t want. This place just has everything you do want & is all insured
  • ❤️ Reverb

Love the app, Love Reverb, but where is the My Collection feature in the app.? I see it on there in a web browser, but not in the app.

Devs: If you are in My Collection in Safari you can open the Reverb app via the app advert banner at the very top & it will place you in My Collection w/in the Reverb app, but when you back out of My Collection via the back arrow ( < ) at the upper left & go back to the Home screen there doesn’t appear to be any way to get back to My Collection w/in the Reverb app itself.

Also Devs: When using the Reverb app, why does the Transaction History show for some, but not others, but when using a web browser it’s there.? (Example: When searching for Strymon Big Sky Reverb the transaction history is there, but when searching for Hologram Electronics Microcosm there is no transaction history available for viewing in the app. However, you can view transaction history for both when using a web browser.)

  • Photo upload doesn't work

Reverb is generally a good service as a buyer. As a seller it's a different story really. How does basic functionality like photo upload not work on mobile? About as fundamental as it gets on a site designed to buy and sell music gear. So now I have to upload the photos to Dropbox, get on my laptop and download them before uploading them to my listing. It shouldn't like this. Let's not even start on the seller fees... eBay becomes more and more appealing.

iOS 15.4.1. iPhone 12. Latest version of app.
