  • Quarantine Fun

I love this app; I’ve invited friends, cousins and daughters and everyone else loves it now too. Getting everyone started through Game Center took some doing (and restarting of phones). Only complaint would be that only the person who makes the final move gets to see it; the opponents only see that the game is over. Hope there will be an update soon with a fix for that!

  • Fun and frustrating

I love playing! My sister and I can’t figure out how to connect to play together. I wish we could figure that part out.
I get frustrated when I play a piece, I always get the same piece (color and shape back). I like how the computer gets every piece it need for multiple Qwirkles!! I still keep playing to try to beat it! The computer plays different than how I play with actual game. It goes for points more than Qwirkles.

  • Fun to play!!

My family and I love Qwirkle and were so happy to see there was this app. Now we can play while quarantining. It does seem to be a bit glitchy and would be great if it had a chat feature in the game so you can communicate with the other players. I love that you can play with others you know but also with random people/robot.
It would be great if you nudge the person you’re playing with (chat feature would help with that) and if you can easily see each person’s turn as they go.

  • One star for lazy expert mode

This is a 5 star game until you start playing expert. That’s because the creators apparently got lazy and, instead of making the level truly expert, they just give the computer the tiles it needs to complete any 5 tile sequence into a qwirkle. Also, if the player gets a qwirkle then the computer gets one right after. I have kept track through many games and these things happen almost every time. It is too frequent to be random or normal. It is just a level that should be labeled “unfair and frustrating” instead of “expert.” I have beaten the expert level but the game is so tilted to the computer that even getting a dozen qwirkles means I only win by 5 points. Deleting the app now that I realize you cheaped out or were lazy. Congrats. You turned someone who loved this game into someone who hates it.

  • To get ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

To get 5 stars this app will need a few things: make it easier to see who’s turn it is, keep the device clock showing on the app interface, add one additional “zoom tap” in between the full view and the complete zoom view, add messaging for players to converse with each other.

Problems with the interface - aside from getting a banner/flag notification from Game Center, the only way to know if it’s your turn is to go into Game Center to see the 🔵. I should be able to see this blue dot next to every player’s name while in Qwirkle itself.

  • Room for Improvement

Totally love the physical version of the game, but not too thrilled about paying $2.99 for the e-version due to the following issues:
    1) There’s a bug that requires you to restart the app to play an online game already in progress.
    2) When you attempt to rematch a solo game (against the Robot), you end up staring at an empty tile rack and the only option is to either resign or return to the Main Menu to begin another game.
    3) When you start a new game, the program automatically selects valid tiles for you, but you have to toggle the options to play what you want. I’d like the option to select my own combinations.
    4) When you want to swap tiles, you have to drag the tiles exactly over the tile bag icon or it won’t work. Very annoying!!
    5) Not sure if I’m able to play friends if they don’t use Apple Game Center...seems silly to have that as a restriction.

Fix/revamp these things and I’ll revise my rating to 5 stars! :)

  • Better than board game

With automation help this app is like the board game but only better. My only complaint is playing online with friends it’s a little bit flaky you have to keep re-opening it and I’ve had to make the same move more than once. Also starting out to get a friend in your list is cumbersome. Make sure you have Game Center on with ID to play online.

  • So happy!!

Thank you so much for updating this app! My Mother, and a close friend of mine used to play Qwirkle all the time with me - in person at least once a week when we were living closer to each other. We first discovered this app well over a year ago and were really upset when it no longer worked on my iPhone after updating the iOS... Thankfully, after sending some messages, calling, and asking for an update - we are back to our normal game play! It’s so great to feel close to loved ones even when we are so far apart. Thank you so much!

  • Nice game if you can pass and play with others

My autistic son loves Qwirkle and used to play with older brothers all the time. We play together now with the app but can't use the online game play at all. We thought this would be a good way to stay in touch and play with one of his older brothers after other passed away but not so. If you send request to join, the link you receive is useless. It doesn't do anything. You advertise online game play and I purchased it for just that. It really show work as advertised. I might as well just have kept playing my board game version.

Disappointed with Mindware. A great game that could've been an even greater app.

  • UPDATE THIS APP

I recently have become addicted to the Qwirkle board game and introduced it to my friend. She now loves it and we knew about the app so we both decided to download it so we could play. First off, the app has not been updated since 2014. It causes the app to be extremely slow and glitchy for updated phone users in 2017. When I open my app up it sometimes shows the games I have started and sometimes doesn't, it also says failure to connect to the game center even though my game center id pops up at the top. After about 10 minutes I can actually get my online game open, place the tiles but then says there's been an error???? I find this app extremely frustrating and I would have rated it a 0 if there was an option. If this game gets updated to a modern version it would be an amazing game, and we would definitely be playing it. Pleeasee update this app.
