### 3/5 — Beautiful but…

*2022-09-28, version 1.3.2*

Beautiful, but doesn’t fit my iPhone screen- plus no share buttons as it states?

### 4/5 — Beautiful, though not responsive

*2022-07-07, version 1.3.2*

Would love to experience this beautiful app responsively, but it does not factor in varied screen sizes—at any rate, it doesn’t fit the aspect ratio of the iPhone 11.

### 4/5 — Beautiful content but poor formatting for iPhone 11

*2021-03-15, version 1.3.2*

I love learning about the seasons every few days, and I think the content is both beautiful and thorough. However, it’s not designed for the iPhone 11 screen size. The text is formatted in columns which are just a bit wider than my screen, so to read the text I have to constantly scroll left and right. Turning to landscape mode just fits the text height while keeping the column width, so I can see the full width but the text is too tiny. If this could be fixed it would be a much more pleasurable experience to read the content.

### 4/5 — This App is a Trove

*2017-10-09, version 1.1.0*

When I run across such gems as this application, filled with desirous offerings of information presented in a cohesive and very lovely manner, I always say to myself that there ought to be more applications such as these.
This app is a tour of life lived seasonally within Japanese culture. While I am not certain that it does (or does not) represent the way any one individual celebrates life–given that the information provided spans across different prefectures (and speaks to references and traditions from Japanese history, although of course these still touch many people today)–it seems that nature's way of symbolizing the turning of the seasons is pretty universal throughout the country.
Like other reviewers, I would really love to look back at past months, if that could be made a possibility.

### 3/5 — Started out great

*2016-08-18, version 1.0.1*

But now is NOT working. The 38th season isn't updating to the 39th (18 August~ ).

When I deleted the app and downloaded again, it jumped all the way to the 59th season!!

### 4/5 — Perfect until the latest IOS update

*2016-03-30, version 1.0.1*

Now the latest entry won't open.

### 4/5 — Beautiful app, but has glitches

*2016-03-26, version 1.0.1*

A seriously beautiful app. Visually well down with interesting information... BUT it doesn't seem to update on its own. I've had to delete the app and re-download in order to update the calendar.

### 4/5 — Lovely but buggy

*2016-03-05, version 1.0.1*

Works one time then won't load so I keep having to delete and re-download. Frustrating but I keep doing it because it's so beautiful. Please fix!!! I love this app, but hate the glitches.

### 5/5 — Gorgeous! Ephemeral!

*2016-02-19, version 1.0.1*

While I am saddened to not be able to see past weeks it also adds to the poignancy. It seems absolutely beautiful. I recommend it all the time. Can't wait for the book!

### 4/5 — 72 Seasons

*2016-02-14, version 1.0.1*

I like this app very much but I wish I could go back and see the 2 seasons I missed. I started on Feb 14. The app won't let you see what you missed. Nice that it's free.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2016-01-18, version 1.0.1*

Great detail about the lunar calendar with poetic names along side original kanji and hiragana aid. Pictures are beautiful! This is a must have for tea practitioners!!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Broken now

*2021-10-30, version 1.3.2*

I paid for the full year of seasons, $24.00. After it downloaded, I couldn’t find my purchase in the app, and it stopped working on my iPhone13 mini. Very dissatisfied, can’t contact app maker b/c all is in Japanese!

### 1/5 — Paid version doesn’t work

*2021-06-19, version 1.3.2*

I just purchased the year long pack. However the menu doesn’t work and I can’t access any of the paid contact. There seems to also be no way to contact app developer. I am going to try to get money refunded. Use the free version. Don’t purchase the expanded pack because it is useless evidently.

### 1/5 — no updates from developer

*2019-11-28, version 1.1.0*

it’s been 3 years since the last version update of this app. the seasons list will only bring you to a black page. it’s a shame for us who upgraded ‘coz there isn’t care after sales.

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2016-03-30, version 1.0.1*

Downloaded this for a second time after deleting once. It worked... once. Most of the time you have to reboot your phone to get the new season to load. Pretty app - I wish it worked. Deleting again.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t fit iPhone X

*2020-08-04, version 1.3.2*

I really like this app’s content and look but it doesn’t easily fit my iPhone screen. I tried finding support to email the developer directly. I’d love for it to fit - it’s otherwise a five star app!

### 2/5 — Great but would much prefer an English print edition

*2019-12-01, version 1.1.0*

I love this seasonal calendar. It’s terrific descriptions of the natural world and their relation to the historic human world are both informative and heartbreakingly beautiful.

Because of this, it’s so much more suited to a real world print edition, as opposed to an iphone app. Apparently, there’s a print edition in Japanese but not in English, which makes a lot of sense. But this is too bad.

Such an intellectual and emotional experience as this calendar offers is best left to experiences to be had in the real world. An app on a screen actively prevents this from happening. Which is a shame.

### 2/5 — Beautiful but failed calendar

*2016-02-10, version 1.0.1*

It looks great, but the dates don't sync to the real world. It shows November in February, for example. Makes it kinda pointless.

### 2/5 — Out of sync

*2016-02-08, version 1.0.1*

The seasons are out of sync. Today is February 7 and the info is for November. I know the date line is in the Pacific but it is for only a day not months.

### 2/5 — Want to love it...

*2016-02-04, version 1.0.1*

Today is 4 Feb. 72 seasons tells me it's November. I don't need alerts for the wrong season.

### 2/5 — 文字が化けています。美しくない。

*2016-01-11, version 1.0*

### 5/5 — Printed version?

*2022-01-31, version 1.3.2*

This app is great. Can I purchase a printed version?

### 5/5 — Delightful

*2020-12-26, version 1.3.2*

I feel that we are all happier when we are in tune with the seasons and this is such a beautiful and educational insight to how other cultures and people from times past move with the flow of the seasons. If you are interested in Japanese culture and ways to think about seasons in your climate this is a beautiful app.

### 5/5 — Amazing cultural gem!

*2020-12-05, version 1.3.2*

I love this app! It’s a little surprise discovering the micro season each week.

### 5/5 — regular dose of beauty to feed the soul

*2019-02-13, version 1.1.0*

such beautifully curated art, poetry, and information! whether or not you are already connected to Japanese culture, this app will expand your scope and make you more aware of the natural beauty around you.

### 5/5 — Seasonal Mindfulness

*2019-01-30, version 1.1.0*

This is my favorite App. Many mornings begin with this exploration of Japan’s 72 Seasons, increasing my understanding and appreciation of the Japanese sensibility of beauty. My own sense of wonder grows as a result. Lovely way to start the day.

### 5/5 — Inspired work

*2018-02-20, version 1.1.0*

I like the side scroll but I wish it would stop on a ‘page’ instead of continuous scrolling.

### 5/5 — Moments of nature. Beautiful information. Artful fish fruit facts

*2017-06-22, version 1.1.0*

Enjoy

### 5/5 — This is a joy --

*2017-04-17, version 1.1.0*

Wonderful app, clearly made by people who care about what they're doing.

### 5/5 — A favorite app!!

*2016-11-20, version 1.1.0*

This app is informative and inspiring. I love the wide variety of information, especially the haiku and Japanese art prints. Also, there's always a little tip to prepare or utilize seasonal flora. All in all, this app is a great tool that lets you look at the whole world through a new lens. Much appreciation!!

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2016-03-05, version 1.0.1*

A view into another world for me and my students. It would be gift if we could see the past few weeks we missed.
