This app cannot get any easier.
This app could be better...
This app is not unique at this point. It basically makes it simpler to get a photo or video from your mobile device into Camtasia. If it actually let you broadcast your mobile device display and capturing video, then it would be a lot more useful.

It is a great addition to Camtasia and really easy to use.

Works flawlessly. Makes transferring pictures and videos to snag-it very easy.
Limited usefulness
In trying to make this app simple, they've made it way too simple. Once the app's linked to an account that's it, no more configuration possible.
Want to access all your photos, including the shared libraries? Not possible. Want to link it to a different machine? Not possible, want to link it to all your techsmith apps? Not possible.
I assume they chose their much more cumbersome linking mechanism (qr code snapshot madness!) is because of their windows products that can't be used with icloud, but in making their windows sync possible, they make the mac sync much worse then needed (lowest common denominator).
Shame as had some promise, but I see no real benefit to this then simply opening up iPhoto and exporting the image directly.

What about screen recordings?
I don't need another app for photos and videos. Where is the iPhone or iPad screen recording app? I would expect Techsmith to develop this as the leaders in computer screen recording software.

A great basic camera integrated with a wifi connection to upload photos right into the SnagIt editor.
The camera includes photo, video, touch to set exposure and focus, flash and zoom.
You can also use photos from your Camera Roll taken by other cameras.
Very easy to set up if your phone and Mac are on the same wifi network - and you have the new version of SnagIt installed on your Mac.
Of course there are other ways to get a photo into SnagIt but this app accomplishes it without even touching your Mac.

Finally!
I've been waiting for a way to be able to edit videos I take on my iPad (I don't have a good video camera for updates and vlogs) and that day is finally here! Thank you Techsmith, for being amazing as always!
Fantastic app - works wonderfully
Update to the latest version of Camtasia or Snagit and you can easily send photos and videos straight to these apps very quickly. Works a bit like Photosync but the simplicity of setup and ease
of use makes these excellent programs even better.
