Great app; ugly UI design.
The apps functionality is top notch. It never skips a beat and hasn’t failed me once. I use a set it and forget it approach now so I’m not constantly adjusting but at my old home the schedule building was nice and robust. The maintenance reminds are nice but can be annoying since there not front and center to clear or reset. The usage tracking is my favorite place to spend time since i love an efficient home and it has help me find issues with my HVAC instal and helped. My only complaint is the overall UI design. It is not visually appealing. I understand the ability of multiple products being used in one app but it would be nice to have a more modern feel and the ability to set a “home view” that you can quickly mess with your designated primary stat instead of having to select it each time. Honeywell suffers the same ugly UI issues but the Nest and Midea UI are far superior and modern, compared to Sensi.Show lessIts Great when it works
It's all well and good, but when it disconnects from the Wifi, you better pray it comes back online on its own. My mother had one installed and recently she had to get a new one because it wouldn’t connect to the wifi. For several days we restarted the router, updated it, even unplugged it and let it sit for a bit. No luck so she was forced to get a new one. When it arrived we installed it. It was all well and good, until 20 minutes later when it disconnected again. Immediately back to square one. Luckily we could still use it like a regular thermostst. But its really a big annoyance when you want to use the app to heat up or cool down the house before you get home, but can’t.
Also for some reason once the wifi for a Sensi thermostat goes off you can’t do anything for the settings for that specific thermostat. Change the name of delete it. Instructions say you can only delete it in the specific thermostst setting which I think is a huge design flaw. You should be able to delete it in the main hub of the app not the specific thermostat setting.Show lessFine but slightly buggy
It’s almost perfect. Sometimes, when I switch between geofencing and my schedule, it doesn’t “stick”. I have found I need to go back to the Home Screen and wait at least 5 seconds to make sure it doesn’t switch me to “No schedule “. Also, I want the schedule to override geofencing. Right now, these 2 options are mutually exclusive. I live in New England and I like a cool bedroom at night. To achieve this, I have a schedule with only daytime and nighttime temps. Every morning, I have to remember to change to geofencing, and once I’m home for the day, I have to remember to turn geofencing off. (I’m retired with no set schedule.) Summer will be easier — I’ll be able to remain on geofencing except for vacations. If the bug is fixed, and the schedule-with-geofencing feature allowed, I’d give this app a 5-star rating.Show less
