Intellicomfort app

I have used many apps and have 31 years of IT experience. This maybe the worse app I have ever used. it keeps dropping the connection to the thermostat and connecting back up is impossible. I bought this Hvac system and thought it was a great idea to buy the communicating thermostat. I should have saved my money.

Hvac tech

App is pretty gay. Put it in my brand new house. Wouldn't do anything until I read reviews and saw have to turn phone sideways for it to do anything. Dumb

Intellicomfort - Hardly worth downloading.

It appears to only allow one wireless device to interact with it which is pretty ridiculous when you think about a husband and wife possibly having at least two mobile devices if not more. Also, functionality is very basic... can't program from the app except to change temperature and turn it on/off.

The Honeywell Wifi thermostat is getting great reviews and looks like I'll be ordering one shortly to replace the Intellicomfort unit. Should have installed the Honeywell with our new York system in the first place.

Great App

Simple Elegant Design!

The app works very well and keeps the focus on setting and scheduling my ac.

App is pretty basic and has almost no features.

This app is basically a simple thermostat control. Nothing near what the Nest offers.

Communicating thermostat is nice (although the overpriced thermostat is very poor compared to the Nest I had on a 35 year old single stage furnace, and the other manufacturers I.e. Lennox, Rheem, Goodman etc are no better), this app needs a lot more functionality. It has little or no features, little or no instruction (not that it needs it, it doesn't do much) and is not really worth it, except it has basic thermostat control. Luckily it's free.

I'm considering reinstalling my Nest thermostat on the York YP9 furnace. It would work better than the overpriced communicating thermostat (costs almost $200 more for way less features).. It wouldn't control the variable speed blower or modulating gas valve, (the furnace would do it be itself) nor would it use the variable speed motor efficiently in the Nest Airwave mode.

The app offers really no feedback avenue to Johnson Controls, and really no way to critique it.

If I had the serial format for the communicating thermostat, I'd write my own app and offer it on he App Store for a few dollars.

The best thing that could happen would be that Nest would support serial protocol (would require a entirely new Nest thermostat) network controlled modulating gas valves and variable speed ecm motors.

Basic functionality

The app does what it's supposed to. It has basic functions available. My biggest gripe is that there can only be one device registered to the thermostat. Seriously? In a world where most people have two or three wireless devices in a household, this app only allows one to pair with the thermostat. This needs to be fixed to get a great rating!

App improvement

I have a lot of customers who are complaining that they can't control the fan or program from the app. Honeywell seems to have all functions available. Come on JCI. Let's get on this. Your losing customers in gonna be one of them soon if you don't update soon. We need more control from our phones !!!

This truly is a really awesome addition to the smart comfortable home experience. I am really glad that the wifi addition has been added. Life simplified! If you don't have it... Get it!!
