The service, the warm and friendly smiles, the atmosphere and a whole host of other things are nothing but A+. The food is second to none! This is our favorite place to dine and I don’t see that changing anytime soon! From the time I walked through the door I received nothing but excellent service. My waiter Daniel P. was polite, courteous and attentive. Wonderful service. I can’t. iI had the petite filet mignon, and it did not disappoint. It was cooked to perfection, and the black truffle butter was the icing on the cake. Melt in your mouth tender. Gave great recommendations and finished all elements of service. I will request him in the future. Culinary-wise, the oysters were delicious but the protein was smaller than an average muscle. Wasn't worth $22 compared to a pound of muscle. Cocktail shrimp were perfectly cooked and were a good “8-10 count” The only complaint would be the cocktail sauce was pushing the horseradish pretty strong, my wife ordered the shrimp but couldn't eat the condiment. I'm not sure why my wife ordered the chicken piccata. She enjoyed it but so did my grandparents 50 years ago. My chimichurri steak was the star. Hats off to the broiler cook. The hardest job is in the kitchen. Overall, 801 Local gets a strong, two thumbs up. After 30-plus years in the private club industry, if you ever need a fair but critical secret shopper I'm your guy! We came for my birthday and had an amazing experience. From the Troon drink to the Down Home shrimp to Ahi Tuna and petite Filet and Brussel Sprouts. Finished with Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler to go. Meal? …not so much *2025-10-12, version 45.9.1* I did not address my disappointment in my meal with our server. Both she and the Asst Mgr were lovely. I ordered 1/2 roasted chicken. I got the back half, not a side half …2 legs. They were small and dry and very disappointing for $32. I assumed a “ half” was a fair sized breast and a leg. Silly me! This was so small they were either treated badly by their supplier or deliberating going cheap. Without fail every single bite is perfectly crafted, steaks are never over cooked, and the service is phenomenal. Attentive and well informed without being pushy or overbearing. Danny has been our server twice at Chophouse and he was awesome.
