Now, I keep getting an Internet connection error. All other apps work fine except this one. I blame the app. ### 2/5 — Buggy and annoying *2022-10-01, version 8.1.5* The app drops the feed often which would be fine except that when the feed comes back you have to listen to the exact same Progressive ad every….single….time. ### 4/5 — Show hosts *2020-03-04, version 6.11.0* Great for fumping a and g need to add angie coiro and dump chip . He is not funny and not informed with facts. Borderline misoginist when trying to be funny just dull and selfabsorbed, john r good too. Mark thimpson jusr said joe biden is not exciting when he just pilled huge election turnout. Mark is completely wrong on biden ### 3/5 — Repetetive ads *2018-08-05, version 5.2.4* I LOVE KGO and wouldn’t mind even the obnoxious amount of ads if only the ad sales department would get just a little creative and stop LOOPING them 3 to maybe 6 times in a row! I find myself pulling the head set down or just jumping stations all together it’s gotten so bad! Whatever happened to variety is the spice of life or have the personnel cutbacks been so drastic from KGO’s hay day that automatons are programming the ads? It’s a sad state of affairs if so and if not, it sure seems like it by all appearances. ### 2/5 — Too many adds *2017-09-10, version 5.2.4* I love kgo, however there are commercials on top of commercials, then the normal massive amount of commercials throughout the listening experience. Right when you turn on the app, an app add, followed by another intro add, then a ton of adds that are the normal radio adds for the radio station. ### 2/5 — Worst rollout yet *2017-02-01, version 5.1.37* The app is buggy. Crashes often and when it looses signal and you bring the app back to the foreground it RELOADS/Restarts FROM SCRATCH. With as much money as you make from the 2 minutes of lawyer commercials when loading the stream you think you could spend a bit of it on debug and Dev. Also I appreciate the automatic opening of the App Store for some sponsored game/app. I'd almost say this app has malware. ### 3/5 — Automatically opens AppStore *2015-12-29, version 5.0.9* I like this app since it does play the current programming well and also allows you to play past broadcasts. However, what is not good is while the app is open, it will automatically open your AppStore and present an app to be downloaded. I think it's fine to advertise as much as you want on the app but NOT ok to have an app be able to open other apps automatically without your own action! This is too much. ### 2/5 — Doesn't open anymore *2015-07-03, version 5.0.5* I have listened to this app every morning for a year but in the last week or so it has simply stopped opening. It cycles like it is going to open but minutes later it is still not open. For a while it would take a long time and then open into a 30 second advertisement. But now it doesn't open at all. I go to the website and push the Listen Live button to get to the broadcast now. Not nearly as easy! Please fix! ### 1/5 — Terrible endless commercials *2015-04-27, version 5.0.1* KGO is great, but this app is awful. each time you open the app, there are 3 to 4 minutes of the same commercials. It's like Groundhog Day. The Wounded Warrior Project, some request for money from Samuel Jackson, yada yada yada. Over and over and over. If you are still alive by the time all of the commercials and, you can listen to KGO for a few minutes before they do their own on air commercials. ### 4/5 — Annoying commercials *2015-04-20, version 5.0.1* I love the KGO app use it at work to listen to morning news and Ronn but occasionally a commercial will start playing when a guest or caller is speaking so I miss what is said, soooo annoying would be 5 stars if not for that one Annoying issue ### 4/5 — Why no iPad App? *2014-07-26, version 3.4.0* I don't have an AM radio so I use my iPad. The problem is getting this App on an iPad. Not easy. Hope KGO fixes this. ### 1/5 — Good app Poor design *2013-10-25, version 3.3.1* I enjoy KGO. And I like that they have this app so I can listen when I am out and about. But what really makes this app so crappy is when you goto open it up to listen. It makes you update the app. Some times you just want to jump on and catch up on a topic that interest you. NO you have to update first and by that time the topic is over. Poor design I would have expected more from KGO. ### 3/5 — Great for hearing KGO radio, but why the ad first?? *2013-08-28, version 3.2.5* I was listening to president obama's King speech on KGO in the car radio while driving in to work, and was delighted that i could continue listening to it from the KGO app as I walked into the office. However at one point the connection to internet was lost and the KGO App was not able to reconnect. So I killed and restarted it to try to get back to the speech quickly. But then I had to wait for the 30 second ad to finish instead of getting quickly back to the president's speech. Why show the ad since the streamed radio had ads of its own? ### 4/5 — Works for me. *2013-08-04, version 3.2.1* Most of the reviews below are for older versions. I just got this for the first time, and it works fine on my 3GS running iOS 5.1, even though I am quite low on memory. Sure I could do without the video ad on launch, but it does provide a close button in this version. The aforementioned issue with not remembering your place remains, but it's easy enough to move the slider manually if you remember where you were. I had one crash so far, but since I'm so low on memory I can't really blame any app, lol. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2013-03-28, version 3.1.1* Menu doesn't work sometimes making it impossible to turn off. Ads don't have Close buttons and can't be skipped sometimes. Connectivity is spotty and have to listen to intro ads over and over again when it reconnects. ### 3/5 — decidedly so-sp *2012-11-18, version 3.0.3* No hourly podcasts besides Owens show; if you do listen to a pre-recorded show; it's maddeningly easy get knocked off and then there's no easy way to get back to where you were. Slider bar is like trying to time a guitar with gloves on. At the gym the audio stops on occasion and there is no way of telling what is going on. Is the stream buffering? Is it disconnected? So I poke at the screen while I'm bouncing on the treadmill. Maybe a circle starts spinning as if it is trying to connect, maybe not......so hit it again....then an ad pops up....get rid of the ad...all the while trying to keep going on the treadmill. Why can't there just be a button on the screen that indicates what is going on, something that can be touched to clearly try to turn on or off the live stream? ### 1/5 — Gave it a try--then radio station fired everybody *2012-02-10, version 2.1* Goodbye cumulus your 810 app is poor. . . going over to 910AM (SF CA) because they hired that free legal advice loyah you fired cumuluscorp. Want Len? Just locate KKSF's load of podcats posted on the 910 website by following Mr Tillem's picture. Can’t listen without the phone going to sleep and streamed content stopping. That needs to be fixed. Stupid video commercials run over normal feed when you first start app. Would rather regular audio commercial because this is an audio app. Wish I could listen to Kgo with my TuneIn app. ### 1/5 — Too Many Ads Plus Poor Performance *2019-10-07, version 6.6.0* Way too many ads as the others have correctly pointed out. In addition, however, the app works poorly. Crashes constantly which makes for a frustrating listening experience. And every time you relaunch it you have to endure 15 to 30 seconds of repetitive ads before resuming listening to the program. And ever since KGO hired the highly annoying & over-the-top Mark Thompson it’s not worth the trouble. Pat Thurston? Chip Franklin? Give me a break. A&G are worth listening to, but the app makes it a frustrating challenge. Better to listen on an old-fashioned radio. ### 1/5 — Love listening to the Mark Thompson show.... *2019-08-09, version 6.6.0* I love having this app to listen to the program on my own time, however this app is horrid! And when the screen dims, the audio stops. What the???? That and the new Agreement I had to accept that says basically that the company will use my information to push ads at me, I’m asking myself if I really need this. KGO app is ruined. ### 1/5 — Latest Update? *2019-02-21, version 6.6.0* I just had to sign in for the latest update (the station wouldn’t play unless I did) and now I can’t switch to any other app while listening to KGO. If I do, the app stops running and the station fades out. What’s up with that? I don’t want to sit and watch my iOS, or my Bluetooth speaker. I want to ‘listen’ to my Bluetooth speaker while maybe clearing a ton of email, replying to a few texts, checking the weather, or any other number of things that requires I leave the app running in the background. Please fix this bug! ### 1/5 — Worst app ever!? 10 minutes of non-stop ads *2018-11-11, version 5.2.4* Was excited to hear post-game show on KGO app. Instead got non-stop ads. I close the app, hoping there was a mistake. I reopened it, and had the exact same experience. NON-STOP adds. Ever since the January 2016 update, the thing plays the same commercial over and over again. I hate the phrase "you're on the move and on the go....." I tried to connect for over 20 minutes this morning at 6:50am with no luck getting past the commercial. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great app but why aren’t the function buttons bigger? *2021-05-12, version 6.18.0* This app is great but I’m troubled by how small the “on” button is. It’s so hard to find and requires several taps to get it started. The ads can be annoying but I realize I have to deal with those. The biggest problem with the decreased functionality is that my car doesn’t get AM radio stations and I’m forced to stream this station via the app. Trying to find the on button while driving is dangerous so I’m stuck not being able to listen to anything. ### 5/5 — I love the app *2016-09-15, version 5.1.22* I love talk radio especially KGO810, but because I am a pet sitter I'm often in and out of the car. This app lets me keep up with the convo (even if on a delay) between listening while driving then just turn on app and continue while I'm on my walks with the pups away from the radio. Also love that I can use all my other apps or even close my phone so I use less battery while the app keeps playing.
