I'm so happy I found this game, and that I ignored the bad reviews! Used to play this obsessively on my pc years ago until my game discs went missing. Been hoping for it to come to ipad ever since. Had a few teething problems with the tutorial, as it could be better at explaining things, but I figured it out for myself as I'm not as thick as I look! Contrary to bad reviews I have not found it necessary to bring up the keyboard at all using a 4 finger tap, just holding your finger down brings up all the options you need. Holding your finger down when placing buildings in light areas has worked every time so far. So after having taken the time and patience to figure things out I'm well away, but I was determined to figure it out as I really wanted to play it again! Thanks for bringing it to ipad!

Not ready for ipad
Wish I had believed the other reviews. Don't buy this.
I adored this on the PC and was delighted when I found it for the ipad.
The controls are too fiddly and tenuous, sometimes they work, sometimes not. The map only scrolls when you use two fingers on it, this doesn't come intuitively at all during play. The worst of all however is placing buildings. 90% of the time it just doesn't happen. Like I said I know how to play this game, you can only build in the lit up areas, yada yada, but it just is impossible to progress if you can't build a simple dwelling with the ease you should be able to.
I really want to play this! Please let us have an upgrade to fix these issues, and soon!

I tried really. User interface too confused
I normally like this kind of game but the interface was too hard to use. It took several minutes just to figure out how to move. I never even made it past the first tutorial, getting stuck chasing my dude around the screen while trying to get him to marry a woman. After he hid among the trees and went indoors, I just gave up on the relationship. He's just not ready for that kind of commitment. Maybe he'll be in the mood after an update or two.

Hasn't being properly ported to iOS
It's a shame but this game feels totally unfinished as an ipad app. For £3.99 you'd think they'd invest a bit of time and effort to rethink the UI for the ipad instead of clumsily dumping old PC RTS menus and mechanics on us. It's so non-intuitive to use that I ended up closing the app in frustration. Also, the graphics should probably be re-rendered, this app looks awful on retina screens. Can I have a refund?

Crashes!!
Firstly I will say the game looks good, but even with a tutorial to help explain what to do the controls are way over complicated. Even my ipad agrees since it shuts down the game repeatedly! If a game can't get through a tutorial without crashing it shouldn't even be on sale in my opinion. The game writers must know this so to them I say...sort it out!!!

So very happy
I used to play this, and the others in the series, on my PC and absolutely loved it. Imagine my delight when I found out that it had been released as an App. None of the original fame quality has been compromised and it's just as enjoyable ad ever. I look forward to many happy hours playing this again.

Nice game BUT !!
It is very difficult to control on my iPad air to the point of being too much of a hassle to play.
A great little game
It's about time something like this was available on the App Store, this game is brilliant it's so detailed with little surprises.
