I’ve had this app for a few years and it’s exactly what I need. As more and more meditation apps come out with guided meditations, subscription plans, etc, I was looking for a simple meditation timer to use in silent Vipassana. Ensō gives you the option to play music or sound while you meditate, but it also allows you to simply have a start bell and an end bell with nothing but the breath in between. The interface is simple and beautiful, and I like the cute little cat animation when I complete a session. The recent health app integration really puts it over the top too - now I get “credit” for my time on the cushion LOL!

Great meditation timer
This app is tops. Have had a few meditation timers and this one is definitely the best. I like the setup: easy to change length, and design is very attractive! Recommended!

Gorgeous little app for simple meditation
I prefer the fact that this is a simple timer rather then other apps which are all singing, all dancing and give guided meditations and badges etc. I am not interested in those features, so this is perfect for me. Love the clean design which wins hands down over any other similar app. It is also very easy to use and doesn't really distract from what you are there to do in the first place which is meditate. I often have it on in the background whilst I am cooking etc. And the chime brings me back to mindfulness every so often. I wonder if in future updates it would be possible to change orientation to landscape so that I could prop my phone up.

The best
This is the best meditation timer I’ve come across. (And I’ve tried a lot of them). It has a large selection of bells, time setting options, interval timing, and progress tracker. Don’t waste your time trying others – just get this one.
Elegant, simple app for meditation
I already had my own meditation practice. I wasn’t looking for a guided experience. I just needed a simple timer that supports intervals. This is exactly that. No unnecessary frills. Does one thing and does it very well. The integration with the Health app for logging mindfulness minutes is an added bonus.
If I could get an accompanying Apple Watch app, it would be all the better!

The proper tool for meditation
If a person needs an intelligent tool to keeping track of the meditations’ streak , to recording time and frequency, and to offering simple alternatives for a responsible practice , this app is the appropriate tool. I use it on daily basis and I recommend.

Clean, simple, smart, and fun to use. Gorgeous bells start your session, and a well designed countdown timer ticks away the minutes. This app won't bother you with "offers" to buy things or "challenges" to "enhance" your experience.
Instead you get just what you need to maintain a healthy mindfulness routine, with progress tracking and information that serve your needs, as opposed to the needs of the developers to try to "gamify" every inch of their app so as to squeeze as much "value" out of their users as possible.

This app is very simple to use. A great tool for those who want to start (or continue) their meditation practice.
Excellent Meditation App
It’s very straightforward, no stereotype graphics of buddhas or lotus flowers, a screen for setting premeditation countdown, total meditation time, interval bells to spark concentration, and end bell. You can purchase additional bells. I bought a double Japanese temple bell so I know when the bell signals the end of meditation. You can customise bell choice for beginning, interval and end bells. Other options allow for more customisation and some cutesiness. My only request would be for screen dimming but even without this app has been highly useful for my meditation sessions.
