Doesn't work correctly with Google Photos

Running it on an old iPad 2. Won't play certain selected albums, locks up at random, the play all photos option doesn't work, the shuffle doesn't really shuffle photos, and searching for new photos at the end of a loop doesn't work. I bought this app specifically for use with Google Photos, so I'm pretty disappointed it doesn't work correctly. I've had the app for a little under a year and have been waiting for fixes, but no dice. If you're a heavy Google Photos user, I'd look elsewhere.

I have an old iPad that couldn’t be upgraded past iOS 9 so wanted to use it as a frame. This app was able to access my photo library, even shared libraries in Photos so I could update photos from other machines. At first I had a problem how to select custom albums but their support quickly gave directions. Turned out I still had a folder full of 1000+ albums from iPhoto events that bogged down the iPad before displaying the list.

Fantastic!

I don’t ever review apps, I’m not sure why. However this one has been nothing but great. I’m using it on an iPad I have framed to turn an unused old slow iPad into a gorgeous digital picture frame. This app doesn’t disappoint and you can’t tell you’re looking at an iPad (except for the picture quality). We were able to seamlessly select the Apple share drive we have all my sons pictures on and shuffle them. There are over 1800 photos now shuffling and auto updating as we add more to the share. I love you can tell the app to turn off at a certain time. My only request is to have the app turn ON at a certain time, and begin shuffling photos immediately. I can tell my jailbroken ipad to turn on at a certain time, and then the app to open and shuffle automatically. And then it’ll turn off at a specific time. It would be nice to have my frame running 5p-12p every day automatically. Here’s hoping they add it, but nonetheless, definitely recommend it. It’s $2, don’t bother with the ads/free version. Just spend the $2.

I would like to love this app

Ok well, I kinda do. My only issue is that I can’t get a certain google photos album to show up. I had created a shared album so my family could add photos to it and I could see photos from my family far away. Besides that issue the app works great. A few small loading issues when I try to select albums but that’s ok.

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, Google's API doesn't support shared albums so LiveFrame is unable to display them. If you are open to options other than Google Photos, you can share photos using iCloud Shared Albums and LiveFrame.

Doesn’t work with Dropbox

It would be great if it worked with Dropbox. I don’t want to stick everything into my photo album.

The perfect digital photo frame

My old iPad is now used exclusively as a digital photo frame thanks to this wonderful app. After some horrendous experiences with cheap Asian digital photo frames, LiveFrame is a godsend. Having the time and date displayed in the bottom corner of the screen is a extra bonus....thank you! Just a thought - would it be possible to include an automatic start and finish time? Also thanks for the prompt email support when I had a query.
Updated November 2017:
Perfect now after the latest update which addressed a strange issue I had where I kept getting a message about a random image being unable to load. I contacted the developer with the issue and before long it was all fixed. Thank you so much for this brilliant and very economical app.

Love it!

I love this app and everything about it! There is just one suggestion I would like to make. We use it with Google Photos. They recently came out with the Archive feature. We archive screenshots, saved images, etc. We would like the option to hide archived photos! Thank you.

Thanks for your message! Glad to hear you are enjoying LiveFrame. We will look into hiding archived photos for Google Photos. Surprisingly, Google does not maintain their API very well, so this feature may not be possible, however we will add it to our list to investigate.

Simply fantastic!

I was looking for an app that would turn my ipad into a digital photo frame when idle and found the perfect solution.
The basic app is free, but in order to get unlimited play without nag screens you have to pay about 4 dollars, peanuts compared to the cost of digital photo frames.
You can show pics from different sources such as facebook, google photos, your ipad. I chose to use pics i had synched to my ipad via itunes. The jpgs i synched had titles in the metadata which i wanted to display by turning on the show captions feature. When i found that it didn't work properly, i reported it. They got back to me personally and fixed it in less than a week!
This company and product rocks! Well done Liveframe, i highly recommend you.

Does not work

Paid for this app and does not work properly! You select the photos and it starts running but then it just goes blank and says preparing slideshow after a few photos! When I try and select another photo source like Facebook it says there are no available photos!

Frustrating

I have the purchased version.
Was working OK for months but I recall it took me an age to get it working. Anyway, I tried to add a new shared photo folder under the custom selection and now it will only play all photos and not a selection of shared folders. Just keeps coming up with creating slideshow. Also, bug about not finding all photos is not fixed but takes a second attempt to find them. I have about 3700 photos I want to display but this app is currently useless at providing what I want. Have reinstalled it and rebooted my iPad mini but it refuses to work.
PLEASE FIX IT!
