The problem with the iOS port is that you move up by dragging your character up which on iOS causes you to pull up your Lock Screen. It’s not game breaking but I wish you could just tap or something ### 2/5 — Needs To Be Updated *2024-12-19* I remember this to be a great game when it first released. I’ve since come back to it a year later and now really appreciate the game design. This is the first review I’ve ever written because I was moved by the recent update note. I've played >2000 games now, and I've run a counter on the past 1000 as mistake-free, and I haven't advanced beyond level 6. Even super hard games like Hoplite give you a path to advance if you play a perfect level. The game is not aging well, frequently requiring multiple rotations of the screen before it displays properly. This aside, the game mechanic is wonderful, and worth experiencing. ### 5/5 — Wahnsinnig gut *2020-05-09* Wirklich ein fantastisches nerdiges Highscore-Roguelike. Aber Achtung: Nicht für Casual Gamer geeignet! ### 5/5 — A gem! Easy to learn - hard to master *2019-11-26* This game is a roguelike turn based tactical puzzler. Don‘t let yourself be fooled by the screenshots of the (...ugly?) UI. Once you are playing the graphics turn out to be PERFECT for the game! (They still look the way they do though.) You move your character (the smiley) through 8 levels of randomly generated labyrinths, while collecting resources and fighting enemies. Each turn your character may either move or shoot. On your way you can collect a wide variety of so called „programms“ which will give you different tactical options through use of resources. That‘s pretty much it. And it‘s fun! And quite challenging. As the title says: easy to learn but hard to master. A perfectly balanced game. A modern classic of mobile gaming. He would want to take down society, to save epic gamers from society. 10/10 would highly recommend. ### 2/5 — Sinnloses Geplänkel *2019-08-23* Als ich die Worte "Hack'n Slash" und "Hacken" gelesen und dann die positiven Bewertungen sah, habe ich mir diesen Dreck gleich gekauft. Doch die Wirklichkeit ist enttäuschent. Das Spiel macht einfach keinen Sinn. In vielen Durchgängen gibt es nicht einmal einen "Score"-Programm, welches zum erfolgreichen abschließen der Durchgangs Voraussetzung ist. In anderen Durchgängen mangelt es so sehr an Ressourcen, dass man in höheren Ebenen automatisch stirbt, ohne jemals jegliche Chance gehabt zu haben. Hinzu kommt der Preis! Für die 5,00Euro gibt es noch nicht einmal eine Anleitung oder aussagekräftiges Tutorial. Und wenn man den alternativen Modus, mit winzig kleinen Abweichungen, spielen möchte, werden noch einmal 3,50EUR fällig. Für ein so wenig durchdachtes Spiel, hätte meiner Meinung nach auch 4,00EUR Gesamtpreis gereicht. Einzig positive: Die App belegt gerade einmal 75MB. ### 5/5 — Hidden Gem *2019-07-07* It really sucks that all the freemium games top the charts and games like this are buried away in the app store.... I was looking for something with nice simple, clean mechanics but with soul. I found it in 868-hack. No in app purchases (other than what seems to be an expansion, which is fine), no pay to win, no 786 different screens to navigate with loot boxes, "mail" messages with bonuses, crafting a billion variations of the same thing yada yada. Just a cool, good looking (as in crisp, not wanna be realistic nonsense)game, simple to play but deep in strategy. The rules are lame. For example, complete a sector and all resources RESET. The game tried to be RPG-ish by letting you continue to get a "score-streak" but seriously... The RESET RUINS this game. And lets talk about LUCK... A massive RANDOM factor makes this game LUCK-DRIVEN. Random viruses will appear on board. You are constantly out-numbered. Some viruses teleport, others go thru walls. You are LUCKY if the ideal opposing program appears. Too much LUCK involved. FYI, this plays like turn-based Pacman: move around the grid, avoid viruses, lure them into firing positions. HOPE you see an opposing program. HOPE the grid corridors are scattered to yor advantage. Complete a sector, RESET. COMPLETELY LAME although amusing AND annoying. Incredible game play where every move matters. Absolutely worth the money even if it’s hard. ### 5/5 — Great, short puzzle roguelike *2026-04-22, version 1.15* I had a great time reviewing this for our podcast on roguelike games (https://grogpod.zone). I wasn’t sure how it would play from watching videos, but the actual experience of it was fun! Your goal is to get points through 8 levels and if you survive, continue a new run and see how far your score can go. There’s lots of smart game design here which is only made better in the upcoming sequel 868-BACK. It’s a small scope game, but the interactions and theme really do feel like a pulse pounding heist on the final level when you’re trying to escape with your hacked point total. Very fun to play at a group gathering or have friends to compare scores with. If there was ever a roguelike only arcade, this would go right next to the Spelunky cabinet. ### 5/5 — Go to mobile game *2026-03-22* This and Hoplite are top shelf mobile game essentials. Imbroglio, made by this developer, is also good. This game in particular is deceptively simplistic looking. Good depth in these games. The games are easy to jump into and out of. If you wanna step up and go to AA experiences, another deceptively simplistic looking game is the one by the creators of FTL - ‘Into the Breach’.
