## What is 86proof?

Know your bar. Share it. Explore every bottle.

86Proof is the personal bar inventory app built for anyone who takes their bottles seriously, whether that's a single shelf at home, a cabin stash, a wishlist of rare finds, or inventory for a catering gig.

Your Bar, Organized
Add bottles with a quick UPC scan or search 86Proof's ever-growing database of verified spirits, wines, and liqueurs. Track fullness, ABV, flavor profiles, tasting notes, and more. Mark a bottle "86'd" when it's done,
the way every good bar does.

Multiple Bars, One App
Create separate bars for every occasion: home, cabin, wishlist, pop-up event, or wherever you pour. Manage inventory for tastings, catering jobs, and events all in the same place.

Shared Bars
Invite people to your bar. Share access with a co-host, bar partner, or anyone who needs to know what's on the shelf. Shared bars stay in sync in real time, so everyone sees the same list.

Ask Julep
Julep is your built-in barkeep, an AI guide with deep spirits knowledge. Tap "Ask Julep" on any bottle for tasting notes, flavor profiles, and what makes that spirit distinct. No recipes, no fluff. Just the bottle knowledge you actually want.

Add a bottle without opening the app.

HOME SCREEN SHORTCUTS (Top Shelf)
Long-press the 86Proof icon to jump straight to adding a bottle or
saving one to your Want List. No launch screen, no tapping around.
You're on the add screen before the app has finished opening.
Perfect for the liquor store aisle.

FIXES
- Wine, liqueurs, and other non-spirits can now be categorized
correctly when adding a bottle or a Want List item.
- You can now correct the type and category of entries you've already
added, including Want List items that came in as Spirit.
- Bottles in the same group can no longer end up with different
  categories.

### 2.1.0 — 2026-07-31

- New feature: Added a manual "Resync Bottles" action in the Share Bar sheet, so owners can force a refresh and repair any bottles that had drifted out of sync before the fix.
- Bug fixed: Editing a bottle's fill level in a shared bar you own wasn't reliably syncing to people you shared it with — a Core Data timing issue was silently dropping the update.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-07-27

Hot Fixes

- Fixed iCloud sync incorrectly turning off for active subscribers
- Fixed a broken Terms link
- Minor polish to Julep's Speakeasy

### 2.0.0 — 2026-07-26

What’s New

- A complete visual redesign using Apple’s Liquid Glass, with refreshed action sheets, headers, cards, scanners, icons, and more throughout the app
- Julep’s Notes: Every bottle now includes an AI-written description to help you quickly understand what makes it unique
- Style Tags: Your entire collection is now automatically classified by style, making it easier to explore and organize your bar
- There’s a knock waiting somewhere in the app—go find it
- Faster, more reliable background syncing keeps your bar fresh and up to date
- Bar sharing improvements include nicknames, removal confirmations, and the ability to stop sharing a bar entirely
- Bug fixes and polish throughout the app

### 1.8.0 — 2026-06-23

What's New

- Fresh new look. The app has been updated with Apple's Liquid Glass design, including a redesigned upgrade screen and refreshed layouts throughout.
- Bottle descriptions. Spirit and wine detail pages now show a short description in the hero card, giving you quick context on what's in the bottle.
- Bar sharing improvement. Removing a viewer from your bar now confirms with a notification so you know the change went through.
- Bug fixes and polish. Removed an unintentional haptic that fired when pressing the banner on the home and want list screens.
