  • Lightroom is not like it used to be

Lightroom used to be easy to use and user friendly but there are features added recently that make it very frustrating and hard to use since it’s heavily reliant on AI. Mostly the healing tool. It used to be manual to use specific areas of the photo to sample from to cover with the healing tool on any highlighted area. Now it’s the same one used in Photoshop where you highlight an area of the photo and you have no control over what it results in because an AI decides what it thinks should be changed and a lot of the time it is very muddy in appearance and a lot of the time is not at all what I’d want sampled. This used to be my favorite photo editing app and I used it all the time but anymore it’s just too difficult and frustrating.

  • Adobe deleted my data and literally stole my hard earned money.

I was a happy lightroom user until the day I decided to upgrade my phone. After syncronizing the apps and data from the old phone to the new one, I haven’t been able to access my active and paid for account due to apparently having made a typo when introducing my email address in the sign up dialog. After contacting both Apple and Adobe (and being bounced back from one to the other like a tennis ball countless times), over a month has passed and Adobe hasn’t been able to handle an account issue due to a TYPO. After taking my money, seizing and destroying my cloud data and not allowing me to, again, use my active subscription, the only solution Adobe suggests is for me to subscribe again with a new email account and therefore pay twice for the subscription. Completely outrageous, to be honest.

TL;DR: I lost the right to use my active lightroom subscription and lost all my cloud data due to a typo I made with my email address when signing up. Adobe hasn’t been able to help with the issue after more than a month and countless chats with their customer support. I feel literally shaken by some mafia thug. A word of advice: just use torrent and don’t bother yourself with subscriptions. Cheers

  • Really good when it works but it rarely does

I got this to edit high quality videos on my phone. I love video leap but it seems to degrade the quality. I love the video presets and editing capabilities but most of the videos that I try to load get stuck on a preview and when I search for a solution it’s just countless other people experiencing the same problem with no customer service. I wish this app worked. It works with video shot on my phone but if I import it from final cut it won’t work. Disappointed to be deleting this app :( if someone has a solution please let me know. <3

  • Pretty good but missing a key feature

I really like Lightroom for editing my photos, but I wish I could organize my presets once I have them saved. Sometimes I accidentally save a preset to the wrong folder and instead of being able to just move it, I have to go through the save process again and then delete the one that was saved in the wrong folder. This seems like a pretty basic feature, especially since they created the folder system to organize presets, so I’m not sure why it’s not already included.
I would also like to see the option to import multiple files to the library at once, but since the import file opens up apple’s file browser I’m not sure if it’s something adobe can add.

  • Don’t like this update

I had to reinstall Lightroom on my iPhone (13 Pro Max) and upon starting it up and going through the processes I can no long edit a photo without having to import it in to Lightroom first 🤷‍♂️ Am I missing something here? I want to edit the picture then export it and cancel the changes or if I want to keep them hit the tick in the top right. Why can’t I do this now?

    Edit - Clarification:

I was able to just tap the icon next to the camera icon (or the centre of the screen if no image was saved in Lightroom) and select an image and it would load directly into the editor mode. If I hit < to back out it would ask me to discard changes if I had made any or it would let me pick a new image to edit.

If I made edits and I wanted to save it to Lightroom I could tap the tick in the top right of the screen and it would be saved into “all photos”

Since reinstalling the app this behaviour not long happens, I would like it back as I don’t see the need to have multiple copies of my images when I only need a quick edit and export. (Then method I have been using for I don’t know how long, saves 3 steps. Import, edit, delete)

Hi, that is how Lightroom has always worked. Perhaps there is something we aren't understanding. If you post this issue on our support forum at adobe.ly/lrmcommunity we will help you figure out what went wrong. Please include some screenshots or a screen recording. • Greedy and not worth the money

I always preached about how Lightroom is the best free mobile photo editing app. I’ve used it for over 6 years and it has always been my go to until today. I opened the app today and my presets I’VE ALREADY PAID FOR are behind a pay wall. So I decided to manually edit my photo but using any of the features is also BEHIND A PAYWALL. I never received any notice that the app would become a subscriptions service (and an expensive one at that).
I’m not playing this game, if the only way to use the app is to pay ($50 a year or $5 a month, a cost that is much too high for what they’re offering), then I simply won’t use the app. It’s sickening that every single app is behind a pay wall now. People do not have the money to pay $5 a month for every app they use.
These corporations are snakes, and after consuming everything in sight, they’re begun to eat their own tail and are destroying themselves.

  • Don’t need a pro camera

I can take professional photos with my iPhone. I shoot in Apple ProRAW or Lightroom’s Adobe Raw and I have incredible color/light control. I can even manually focus on objects as well as control ISO and shutter speed. I can bring out the tiniest details shot with Apple’s macro ultra-wide lens, or adjust my urban city shots’ perspective from Apple’s telephoto lens using Lightroom’s geometry adjustments. I can easily create a cinematic look for my photos using the curves tool by adding and subtracting greens and reds. Perhaps the most useful tool in Lightroom is the selective editing: Masks. I use these to brighten or darken specific parts of my photos without affecting the rest of the image. Lightroom’s secondary color correction hsl is super helpful when I need to adjust certain colors, and the color grading adjustments add beautiful tints to make the look that I’m aiming for. As you can see, I can tell the stories I want to tell through my photos and the emotions and mood they create.

  • Lightroom Mobile app does not sync with Lightroom Classic

When I upload photos into Lightroom CC, they will sync in LR mobile app. However, if I make an edit to the photo in LR Mobile app, those edits will not always sync to the LR CC desktop. It appears everything works if it originates from my desktop version and feeds to the mobile LR, but not the other way. I have the latest versions installed on all of my devices. I even deleted Lightroom from my computer completely and started over with a fresh install and catalog. This did not solve the issue.

We’ve had this problem for 4 months now. As professional full time photographers, our entire workflow has been dead in the water. Adobe support is either unable or unwilling to help us fix the problem. Either way, their communication with us over this time has been unacceptable and practically non-existent.

  • An incredibly disappointing October update

The October update to this app has very much made defunct the features of Lightroom that had made this so appealing in the first place. By inserting a pay wall subscription to features of selective editing (now called "masking"), it feels like a generic photo editing app where you just slap on a filter and cannot edit for artistic detail and contrast within the photo unless you are willing to pay ludicrous amounts on an ongoing basis. Mobile photos often cannot adjust the focus for things in the foreground and that in the background, especially from a distance, and so manual editing with these selective tools is extremely necessary. Previous versions of Lightroom were amazing and allowed for this, so it is extremely disappointing to have opened the app as a longtime user and find they have made the parts that made it unique inaccessible.

Hi, sorry for the confusion but masking has always been a premium feature. Perhaps you were using a trial subscription that has expired. There are, however, plenty of great features in the free version. You can edit jpeg, tif, PSD, heic, and DNG files. Editing raw images requires a premium subscription but you can convert them to DNG using the Adobe DNG converter: adobe.ly/3w10PMF and continue to use the free features. • Greed

Subscriptions are going to be adobes downfall. Now I can’t even crop?! Uninstalled and going to the competitors.
