Takes the stress out of navigation
I hesitated before paying for a premium subscription, but now I am glad I did. It took a while to learn how to plan routes, but I have now got the hang of it. I love being able to share the route and the turn instructions with friends before we go on a ride. On the road, turn by turn directions are timely and accurate ( once I had managed to work out how to turn the volume up! ). I can’t pretend this app is essential, but I genuinely love it and it makes rides stress free and fun again.

This app doesn’t do anything…so confused
This App is strange, not sure what the point is. The map has ZERO features, it doesnt show city names, road names, landmarks, the map has absolutely no information on it. It’s literally just a red highlighted route, on a blank map. Doesnt even show what direction is north. Absolutely USELESS tool if you’re actually trying to navigate a trail. Also the route information is not accurate, i’ve done a few rides now and the App was very misleading (both the route description and the map)
Also the “track offline” feature doesnt work for anybody in my group. We downloaded the maps to be available offline successfully, but the maps are useless. You’re better off just using the route description, and tracing your own map on paper. Oldschool. This is also safer, in case your phone dies or breaks mid-trail

Hey Nick, this sounds very unusual for the app as we have the best offline navigation around. Please give us an email at Info@ridewithgps.com, we'll be happy to help see what may be happening on your end.
A fantastic bike packing app
I’ve been using this app for a few years to plan and ride bike packing trips and it has been brilliant. The array of maps available to plan a route is very comprehensive and detailed. The functionality of the route planning features are seamless and this makes it a fun process, as it should be. Navigation is easy and I’ve never had a problem uploading routes to a GPS unit (Garmin Edge and GPS Map). Using the app and desktop versions is a breeze and the customer service is next level. This app is brilliant.

Great app
Great apps works really well. Recording rides and planning routes is easy. Well done guys.
My goto bike app
Have used many apps before but RWGPS does everything I need in one app.
I can plan routes easily
Import routes from other apps and have to cuesheet automatically created.
All my bike Bluetooth sensors are supported and work
There is a live sharing so my partner can see where I am when I’m out solo riding
Turn by turn directions
Customisable dashboard allowing me to choose the stats I want to see when out on a ride.
Even integrates with the Garmin varia rtl515 rear facing radar and light. I haven’t tried that yet but will probably add that to the list of gizmos to buy.

Doesn’t work with Apple Watch
Very disappointed with this app, otherwise great mapping, good planning and excellent feature set.
The problem was I’m looking for a cycling app with decent turn-by-turn directions on my Apple Watch series 6. The watch app crashes and restarts randomly every time a navigation notification is raised. Have tried multiple times, it’s unusable, so sadly I won’t be continuing past the trial subscription.
Also integration with Apple Health looks poor, only writes a minimal set of data on the cycling workout which is a shame.

Excellent and must have Cycling Tool
If you are new to Cycling or quite experienced this is a fantastic App that gives you the ability to master new routes easily. The turn by turn commentary allows the rider to concentrate on the road instead of the map.
This is the best App I have subscribed to all year and worth every cent.

Great App for Recording and Garmin Varia Radar
So far I’ve only used the free version. It’s good for recording your route, distance, meters climbed, time etc.
It supports the Garmin Varia Radar, which works really well. Not many apps support it. This one does and it’s great to have that little side bar.
I haven’t used navigation, route planning, or any of the other paid features yet.
I’ve used Strava as well. I think I prefer Ride with GPS because it supports my rear radar. Strava has more “social” - competing with your mates and randoms features. But I’m just a casual rider so far and not competitive. I hear you can export your rides/routes/stats to Strava so sounds like you can have it all with a bit of a mess around.

Apple Watch integration is a disaster
I got this app because I wanted a cycling guide compatible with Apple Watch. After several rides, here’s my experience using Ride With GPS on my Apple Watch: 1) During the ride the app keeps disappearing from the watch face. 2) Very challenging to navigate from an Apple Watch—both with the app disappearing and unclear when to look at the watch for directions. Ended up biking with my phone in one hand to figure out where I was going—Defeats the purpose of Apple Watch compatibility. Also, dangerous as I was not prepare with a phone holder to bike with. 3) The app drained my watch battery. After a four hour ride, I had almost no watch battery left. No other apps running. Keep in mind that I could not even see this app most at the time since it keeps disappearing from the watch face.
Pros: There are some really good rides mapped out. If you’re just using your phone, looks like it works well.
However, for a paid app, there’s still a lot to work out so you can use your Apple Watch to navigate.

I’ve been using this app for over three years and it’s fantastic. Lot’s of improvements and features. Highly recommended
