Excellent
Been using this for a while now and it’s really excellent. The webpage and now the app has great route planning . I use the wahoo elemnt which downloads the rides and syncs routes beautifully. Customer service for technical queries is the best I have ever used. Brilliant.
Only recently the live logging is not as good as it was but this might be my friends internet connection not the system.

Just enjoying cycling again
I had to give up cycling after a hip replacement had some complications. But four years later I bought an ebike after a young man in a bike shop suggested it would get me back cycling. Did it!!!
So now I want to get out and about it made sense to get some tech for planning rides. RWGPS was suggested as a good companion app for my Wahoo so here we are. Just enjoying cycling again 😁

Much more work required
I’m being generous by giving this a 3. Out geeks like sat mav in the very early days. It uses Apple Maps rather than Google Maps which are not very good or accurate. It has a really annoying American eoman telling you directions, it bings constantly at you but the worst thing is it sends you off route quite often but then it doesn’t give you any directions of how to get back on route! I don’t understand for the life of me why strava can’t integrate navigate a route or google María do a loop rather than just a to b. I just subscribed to this at a fiver for a month... of say it was worth about a tenner a year. I won’t subscribe for a second month.

Navigate long rides
Since join Audax Queensland in late 2018, I have become reacquainted with RWGPS and it is the failsafe for navigating those long routes. You need a little navigation nouse, but mostly you just switch it on at the start and it gives you all the turn-by-turn prompts and you can simultaneously see the que card. It can be get a little confused at cross-overs, but once you get past that it tirelessly resumes on the proper course. Strava can do some of the same but not nearly as well. You can share the ride data with Strava for better social features, but you can get by with only RWGPS but I don’t think you can get by with just Strava.

RWGPS - The BEST!!
I started using the free version of RWGPS in 2011 for developing routes and exporting the routes to develop cue sheets for a bike club that I lead rides for. After a couple of years of being really satisfied with the online app I subscribed to the top level to thank the developers and to unlock a few of the new added features. When they added the Event feature, which allows one to show multiple rotes on a single screen, the app went to a new level. When the mobile app was made available I set my Garmin aside and use the phone app to follow routes and record rides. Great map screen to follow routes and stats while riding. I’ve used Map My ride and Strava, but none compare to the features of RWGPS. Thanks and keep up the great work!!

Better than others I’ve tried but not perfect
Been using RWGPS premium for 3 years with my Wahoo Elemnt and the app keeps improving. So happy too finally have the route archiving feature!
The weak part for me is the self generated route cues... hopeless. Many times a right turn should be straight ahead of left right or whatever. I briefly tried navigating by audio through a earpiece....total disaster. Sent the wrong way time and time again.
However aside from that no issues at all and route planning on my computer is way ahead of the likes of Komoot in terms of ease of editing, checking street view and adding custom cues etc. I only add my own cues. Would be nice if POI’s showed on my Wahoo as I rode and not just cues.

Just go ride .
I have been using this app off and on, for about a year now, just the free version, it records my rides okay but is a bit too fiddley to navigate and the lack of features on the free version is a major issue to me . I will go back to using OsMAnd I think .
Great phone app/suboptimal watch app
As a route planner and iPhone app, I cannot say enough good things about. The app provides excellent turn by turn directions and excellent details. Route planning is top notch.
As a watch standalone app, it is pretty good and captures the essential details for the ride. There is a bug where the app almost always refuses to stay in the foreground and I have to ask Siri to bring it back. This is more annoying but developers punted when I reported problem last summer.
As an integrated app, the app frequently loses contact with the phone and almost never provides turn by turn directions. Then we do the dance of powering on and off both devices until they talk again. This is the reason why I bought the app/watch. Now searching for replacement.

Great planning and navigation tool, on and off-road.
I use it when cycling, on the MTB and also riding on the motorcycle.
