## What is 8nOut?

Find, connect with, and challenge One Pocket players near you.

8nOut is the map of the One Pocket community. See which players and pool clubs are around you, connect with the players you want to meet, and arrange a game at a club or a private table — all in one place.

THE MAP
Every pool club across Europe shows as a pin — tap one to see who plays there and navigate straight to the door. Players who are open to play are marked, so you know who's ready right now. Filter the map by country, by city, or to just the players who are open to play — and search for anyone by name.

CONNECT FIRST
8nOut works like real pool-hall etiquette: you introduce yourself before you ask for a game. Send a connection request — or share your personal invite link to bring a friend straight in, already connected. Once you're connected you can invite each other to play and chat right in the app. No connection, no contact. Strangers can never message you or see anything you haven't made public.

SHOUT-OUTS & BROADCASTS
Free right now? Send a Shout-Out and reach every nearby player, connected or not. Planning a trip? Send a Broadcast for the city you're heading to — today, or in the weeks ahead. Interested players connect to reply, same as everywhere else in 8nOut — and you pick who you play. You're just as invisible to them, too, until you connect back.

ARRANGE THE GAME
Invite a connection to play: propose a day or two, a time, and a place. They can accept a slot or suggest another, until you settle on one. Add the confirmed game to your calendar in a tap — and afterwards log the result to build up your win–loss record.

YOUR GAME, YOUR PROFILE
Link your CueScore profile to bring your name and photo across, so other players recognise the real you — and unlink again whenever you like. Add your Fargo Rating so opponents know what kind of game to expect, with a FairMatch link for anyone who wants to verify.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Home-table addresses are never public — they're only revealed to a player you've explicitly accepted, and you can see and revoke who has access at any time. Your phone number is visible only to accepted connections, never on your public profile. No ads, no tracking, no analytics.

ON EVERY DEVICE
Use 8nOut on iPhone or in your browser — same map, same community, one account. Sign in with Apple or Google.

FOR THE COMMUNITY
One Pocket is a small world spread across a big continent. 8nOut exists so that a travelling player always knows where the game is — and so the game finds new players. It's built by a One Pocket player, for One Pocket players.

CueScore and Fargo Rating are optional integrations; CueScore is a registered trademark of its owner and FargoRate of its owner — 8nOut is an independent community app.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.17 (111) — 2026-09-27

This update lets both players keep score together on the Live Scoreboard, and carries a few smaller fixes forward.

- New: either player can now tap Point, Foul, Switch, and Undo on the Live Scoreboard, not just whoever started the match. If you both tap at almost the same moment, 8nOut keeps the first tap and lets you know if yours did not count. Undo can now step back through up to 10 taps in a row, and if you lose connection mid-match your taps catch up once you reconnect.
- Fixed: Bank Pool (9 Ball) now starts with 9 balls on the table, not 15.
- Fixed: your opponent's name now shows correctly after reopening a match with Resume.
- Fixed: FairMatch links are simpler - a direct "Look up your rating"/"Verify on FairMatch" link instead of a pasted-in web address.

Thanks for playing. See you at the table.

### 1.2.16 (109) — 2026-09-22

This update adds Bank Pool as a second format on the Live Scoreboard, alongside One Pocket, and adds the official rules for both games to the in-app Help section.

New: start a Bank Pool match on the Live Scoreboard — choose "Bank Pool (9 Ball)" (first to 5) or "Bank Pool (Full Rack)" (first to 8). Bank Pool is always played straight-up between both players, so there's no Spot handicap and no pocket-choice question to answer — those stay One Pocket-only.
New: every Live Scoreboard match now shows which format it's using, right on the scoreboard — One Pocket matches included, which never had this label before either.
New: "Bank Pool Rules" and "One Pocket Rules" — the official rules for both games, courtesy of OnePocket.org — are now in the in-app Help section.

Thanks for playing. See you at the table.

### 1.2.15 (107) — 2026-09-21

This update adds new profile options, brings the Live Scoreboard's pocket-choice prompt to more players, and polishes how race and Spot info are shown.

New: set your dominant hand and preferred pocket on your profile — visible only to you. Answer during sign-up (it's easy to skip), or any time later from your Profile.
New: the Live Scoreboard's optional "which pocket?" prompt now reaches whoever's actually breaking, not just the player who started the match. It's asked once per rack, never blocks scoring, and you can turn it off any time in Settings → Privacy. Once it's answered, the choice stays visible for the rest of the rack, and both players' screens now explain clearly when it isn't available.
New: Find Players and your Connections list now show each player's Fargo rating, plus a switch to sort by first or last name — your choice is remembered the next time you open the app.
Improved: the race and Spot info on the Live Scoreboard moved to a bigger, clearer spot above the score, and we fixed a bug where rotating some iPhones to landscape mid-match could push the scoring buttons off the screen.

Thanks for playing. See you at the table.

### 1.2.14 (103) — 2026-09-19

This update makes it easier to spot new members and keeps the Live Scoreboard more reliably connected.

New: players who joined in the last two weeks show a "New" badge on the map, so it's easy to spot a new face nearby.
New: finishing onboarding now offers a quick way to get started — browse players near you, or send a Broadcast to let people know you're around — right from the last screen.
New: the page you share so others can watch a live match got a refresh — a cleaner look, faster updates, and now shows the match's Spot and a rack-by-rack history.
New: when you share a live match, the other player now picks exactly how they're shown — full first name, initials, or staying anonymous — instead of a simple yes or no, and can change their mind anytime.
Fixed: a couple of connection issues that could make the Live Scoreboard get stuck, including one specific to iPad and one that could follow using group chat.
Fixed: the camera-access screen when scanning a connect code now says "Continue" instead of "Turn on camera."

Thanks for playing. See you at the table.
