### 4/5 — Really great!!

*2014-11-27*

I enjoy a challenge and this game provides the opportunity to think and learn.
Loving the clear inter action if I have already entered a word and the 30 second timeframe so I don't feel rushed.
Thanks

### 1/5 — Too American, not enough eloquence.

*2025-05-21*

While I enjoyed playing for a while, it got a little boring for someone taught proper English in school. Too many American words, too many incorrect grammar based, or what I found, amalgamated words. I felt a little dumb with some of the picks by the makers of this. Sorry, not sorry.

### 1/5 — Poor

*2022-09-06*

Too many official words get rejected but then appear in the list of missed words when you finish.

Also, letters get locked on the screen and you have to abort the game to move on.

Sloppy coding and a waste of money, unfortunately.

**Developer response:** Thanks for this feedback. If the app is refusing a word and then later listing it, informing me of those words via support@pkclsoft.com would actually allow me to improve the “sloppy coding” so others benefit as well. A review like this helps no one.

### 2/5 — Colour

*2025-10-03*

Contrast colour for selected tiles is very hard to see. No option to shuffle tiles. Have to end the game to get to settings.

### 2/5 — It Could Be

*2019-10-28*

This could be a great word game, but many of the words can’t be found in any dictionary that I’ve looked in, including some of the 9 letter words.

The variations within the game, timed or not timed, targeted or normal, choice of color and use of automatic plurals are well thought out and implemented, but without trust or belief in the number of possible words, it leaves me with a “why bother” feeling. If finding a lot of words is a goal, I’d rather see reusable letters instead of made up words.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. I understand what you’re saying and agree that some of the words in the game’s dictionary seem unlikely, however I can assure you that the dictionary was built directly from an official scrabble dictionary.

I get caught out myself when I play scrabble because I don’t know all of these words either.

Thank you though. I’m glad you like the basic premise of the game.

### 2/5 — Keeps asking for money despite turning off option!!!

*2015-08-05*

I just downloaded this and am already going to delete it for three reasons. 1, obscure words are used but some common ones aren't accepted. 2, it doesn't follow the traditional rule of having to use the centre letter for each word. But mainly for 3, that despite paying for this app AND despite having an option to turn off the "offer hints every ten words" setting, it STILL offers paid hints at least every ten words. Don't waste your money on this if you just want to concentrate on the puzzle without being bothered every half a minute with invitations to spend money!

**Developer response:** 1. The dictionary used is "supposed" to be a standard Scrabble™ dictionary. I didn't choose the words.
2. That is an option if you want it; just visit the options screen!
3. That should have been addressed in the most recent update. Apologies for any annoyance. I'm not a fan of nags like that either.

### 3/5 — Too confusing.

*2021-11-03*

Good: does not collect my data.
Poor: instructions don’t explain play. eg I can only enter a word using the nine tiles, not my keyboard. And I must only tap a letter once, even if the letter appears several times in the grid.

Lastly, the Submit button and others don’t persist.

That means the game changes modes often, which is something humans can’t do. Best to hide the mode changes from users.

### 4/5 — Volksy48

*2019-06-11*

Have just downloaded this app and testing it for use by a disabled person. Would like the letters in the cubes to be black rather than white. Black is easier to see against the pale background. So far so good. Will update when I have played it with him. Is there an option to have turn based play? If not that would be an improvement.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review.

I have released an update that fixes the text color issue you highlighted.

I would be especially interested to hear your experiences with using the game with a disabled person. Adding/improving accessibility would be something else I’d like to do.

### 4/5 — Skcaj

*2016-06-26*

I love the game. However, since the newest version came out there is a glitch where when and you click yes when asked if you want a hint the boxes for the word and the hint letter no longer show up. Therefore, there are no more hints available technically. If they can get that fixed in the next update then it will be back to five stars again.

**Developer response:** Hi there. All of those issues I believe were addressed in v1.4. Thank you for your feedback; it was very helpful.

### 4/5 — Fried eggs

*2016-04-04*

At end of game, a list of missed words would be great.

**Developer response:** You might be pleased to note that this was added just for you. Enjoy!

### 4/5 — What a challenge

*2014-11-27*

Great test for my literacy and observation skills skills

### 5/5 — Excellent game

*2021-10-19*

Works perfectly. Very reasonable price. No data collected. Hint offers can be turned off in settings. Would be happy to buy a new version if all games could be saved to return to later. Maybe word list could have an option for alphabetical and word length sorting. Thanks very much

### 5/5 — None better

*2020-07-27*

I’ve played a few 9 letter apps and this is one of the best. Good dictionary (scrabble) and good layout. The 9 letter words cans sometimes be very esoteric, leaving you slightly miffed, but overall a great app for this genre. PS it is tricky swiping to clear a nine letter guess in landscape mode.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to write them.

I’ll take a look at that swipe gesture; thank you for mentioning it.

### 5/5 — A pleasurable educational challenge

*2015-11-19*

I thoroughly enjoy the challenges presented with this app. As an author and lover of words, I find it compelling and highly educational. It offers a digital option that serves literacy enhancement through engagement and the concentration required. It serves beginners and more advanced users equally across the board. Highly enjoyable and highly recommended.

### 5/5 — My new go-to game!

*2015-01-13*

And now I have a new game to play when I need something to do. Love the many options. I prefer the upper case letters, and whilst the timed game is good for a bit of excitement, I prefer to play the untimed game as it’s more relaxing. The large word list makes this app more challenging than a lot of the other games I’ve tried. Thanks for a great app!

### 5/5 — Klasse

*2014-11-22*

Klasse app, für alle die gern auf Englisch rätseln!

### 5/5 — Do yourself a favour and buy this game

*2014-11-21*

It's brilliant, makes you think and gets the grey matter working. Finding it hard to put down.

### 5/5 — 9 letters.

*2014-11-20*

I have been playing this game for far too long. It is addictive. Word games are my favourites. Thank you for producing a new one.
