  • Stoopid auto correct

I got this keyboard because I’m a swiper, and I love that I have access to punctuation without having to go into the symbols view. However, the predictive text is stubbornly nonintuitive. Every time I try swiping “people”, it gives me “petiole”. I have to back up, delete, and give it a second try before it will give me "people" every. Single. Time. Same thing for going (gong), heart (best), couldn't (vitiated, of all things), and several others. The incorrect words don’t even make sense in context. It's extremely frustrating. I think I'm finally to the point that easy access to commas and numbers isn't the Most Important Thing. Uninstalling.

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I downloaded this app around a week ago and I thinks it's going well so far. I'm actually using SwiftKey to write this amusingly. I really like the different keyboard themes you can apply and the ability to create your own keyboard with photos from the Photos app on your phone.

one thing I have to say is that sometimes when I type a work incorrectly, SwiftKey doesn't always automatically autocorrect my word, so I'm left having to muddle with the word I spelt wrong, which can be really annoying when I'm trying to send quick emails or Microsoft Teams instant messages.

overall, this app is quite good 🙂

  • I used to love this keyboard

Have been using it for years but now it's so glitch and turns off alot, for the last week I havnt been able to use it at all, not sure if it's because of updates or something, help!
  • Not as useful to me as word flow

    1) Misses a lot of words; for instance i can't even simply type "you're" (i don't rely on auto correct and as you can see from this, Swype doesn't properly capitalize "i" like word flow did, it also doesn't space words properly but it does get apostrophes right. 2) Requires full keyboard access just to use the swiping feature. Blah. 3) There's a third thing but i forgot what it is since these keyboards mess up my train of thought with their problems. Word flow didn't do that. Yeah, i would use word flow still if it worked on my iPhone x but i had some issues so tried to check this out. Back to Swype i guess.

Edit: The “team” responded to my review after SIX YEARS. As we know, MS often changes the features and abilities of apps, adding and removing features as they go along like they’re throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. The point being a review from six years ago is hardly relevant, why are you wasting time now addressing only the smallest issue I brought up (#2) in the review? I’ll add a new negative note that I thought of it, the amount of space available for your app is reduced because this keyboard uses more space. Some apps don’t like that, putting things you need to see while typing i’m the covered area. It appears this is not configurable in the keyboard to turn off unused features if you’re only trying to get swiping, but Apple includes that now (except for the aforementioned ability to recognize and capitalize “I”).

Hello there, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. I understand that you are concerned about the full access permission. It does not collect or share any personal information from your device. SwiftKey uses encryption and anonymization to protect your data and does not store or access any details. Further rest assured, we'll certainly pass your valuable feedback to our development team for future improvements. Thank you for your support.
  • Typing is getting WORSE using this

Neat customization features, and the autocorrect seems pretty good. But...

I think there's an issue with how the "tap map" feature adjusts the keys according to how you use the keyboard. It seems to completely wreck my ability to be coherent WITHOUT needing autocorrect. It's like every other word I type has at least one typo now.

I sincerely feel like my typing is getting WORSE while using this keyboard. There are also issues with hitting the keyboard as I feel like I'm missing it 30-40% of the time. And I don't think it's because I'm a "bad typer"; I'm an iPhone "power user" for personal and professional use, and have been for years. So unless my ability to type has coincidently devolved since I got this app...

Also, I feel like the keyboard lags behind what I'm typing quite a lot. Especially annoying when trying to switch between the numbers/punctuation screen and the actual keyboard screen.

I'm likely going to switch to another keyboard or back to the default if this isn't a resolvable issue.

  • Wonderful Now

I’ve been using SwiftKey for a while on my Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. For some reason recently the keyboard kept switching to the default iOS keyboard and I couldn’t figure out why. It would take me multiple tries to get it to revert back to the SwiftKey keyboard and every so often when I would open a new app that I needed the keyboard for it would revert back to the iOS default keyboard. I kept trying to figure out why and I was looking up solutions and I couldn’t figure anything out until I found this post on Reddit and someone suggested checking for an update. So, I did that and of course there was an update. I don’t understand why it was never updated automatically because I have it set to update my apps automatically. Anyway after updating the keyboard is working better than perfect it’s back to normal there’s neek no reverting back to the default ios keyboard and I’m very happy with everything. Wonderful keyboard give it a try especially on iOS. Very happy with it

  • Not recommended at this point

Unusable at this point. Flow keeps getting interrupted, autocorrect not working, predicted words disappear, and even tapping on the keyboard is such a hassle when keyboard glitches all the time. Reverted to built in keyboard because SwiftKey keeps glitching every 3 seconds! Only thing I like better in SwiftKey is the auto spacing, which is more intuitive visually. Otherwise, uninstall it.

  • Awesome replscement for G Board with way better features, but...

This Keyboard is Awesome, hands down awesome. it has everything I could ever ask for in a smart iPhone keyboard and so much more.

The AI features feel so nice, the quick access to my camera photos is very welcome and unique, the countless customisation options that really allow you to personalise it as your own are so great as well!

But... well it's still a bit janky. mainly when it comes to autocorrect, sometimes I find extra spaces being inserted at random, it favours weird auto-corrections over others, and overall it's a bit of a mess. It's not a turn away though, that's for sure.

Back to positives however, I must say I love how nicely it fits in with the apple UI. For example, in G Board the keyboard background can't use the same glass effect as the part of the keyboard at the bottom where the microphone button and globe button are, however this keyboard does use the same glass effect!

  • Adapts to my typing!

This is my favourite keyboard. I've used it for a few years now and all the other ones just frustrate me!
It's the only iPhone keyboard I can use without having to look at what keys I'm pressing. When my phone was running out of space, SwiftKey started crashing a lot. Then it disappeared one day. However, I found that I was making SO MANY typing mistakes with the iPhone's default keyboard! I had to press each key carefully or else it would be typo spaghetti! On reinstalling SwiftKey and going through the settings, I realised that it was because SwiftKey was adjusting its own map to match where my fingers tend to press. Therefore, I don't have to look too carefully at the keyboard because the keyboard has also adapted to my fingers. All other keyboards are extremely frustrating in comparison! Although ultimately, I'll always prefer a good ol' physical keyboard! And I would actually love a phone that came with a physical tactile keyboard that slides out from under the screen or something! Even if it was slightly fatter and heavier 😆

My only complaint is that it doesn't have support for Chinese! Nor does it have support for many other Asian languages - not Japanese, Korean, Thai, or Khmer.

Other than English, I mainly use Simplified Chinese Pinyin and I don't understand why it hasn't been included agter all these years, especially being owned by Microsoft who otherwise have extensive language resources.
