  • Great while it lasts

While id love to give it a 5, after about a week of using the keyboard, it bugs and none of my apllications will recognise it. Support tries to say some apps might have issues. But in reality, it works one day and stops the next, for EVERY app. It means constantly uninstalling and reinstalling every other week

    Developer Response

Hi, thank you so much for your report. We are aware of this issue happening with iOS 14 and are investigating and escalating with Apple. Thank you for your patience.
  • How has this issue been missed after 2 updates?

I had used SwiftKey for quite some time before this issue had come up, and before this bug, it was essentially a 5-star (minus the fact that there’s no option to remove the distracting Microsoft watermark from the space bar). Now, 9 times out of 10 when I pull up the keyboard on any app, and I’ve tried quite a few, it flashes the SwiftKey keyboard for half a second or less and then reverts to the generic Apple keyboard. This has been happening for at least a couple of months now, even after some updates to the app. My hopes were dashed after the second update that I saw from the App Store, and it didn’t help a thing. I tried removing the English keyboard from my settings, and this worked for about 30 minutes until I had pulled my keyboard up in a different app. Uninstalled and reinstalled a week ago, and it worked for a single day until this issue came back rearing its ugly head. Deeply disappointed for an appbreaking bug.

    iOS 14.1, iPhone X.

  • Updates - SwiftKey not recognised as default keyboard keyboard

Anyone else have the issue where after an update IOS doesn't recognise it as a keyboard but uses the default apple one? It's listed in keyboards as the default. Even switching off Full Access and back on again doesn't make a difference yet it recognises SwiftKey as I write this review but not on anything else. Only way to fix this is to uninstall it and reinstall it. Second update where this has happened - really annoying 🙄

  • Great keyboard

I love your keyboard. Can you; 1) introduce a theme that resembles the keyboard you use on your computer with the numbers in a 10-key format' 2) introduce the ability to customize the keys to type a word or symbol using the 'touch and hold' action like the [?!.] key does. Ex, many folks use certain words or punctuation often. If I could program, say the 'W' key using the 'touch and hold' action one could program that key to type say 'set to default'. This way one touch (and hold) would save 13 keystrokes!
I love the little down arrow in the lower right corner to dismiss the keyboard. I love the ability to move the cursor using the space bar. Using this action, the space bar isn't so sensitive that it moves the cursor inadvertently causing grammar errors. I'm giving you 5 stars and would be very excited if these features were added. Thanks.

  • Needs improvements

Microsoft SwiftKey is very usable and it's the keyboard I mostly use. However, there needs some improvements. For example, the default iOS keyboard is easier to use because the letters are larger and there is a dark background which contrasts with the letters, making it a lot easier to see. Another needed improvement is need to include a suggestion box for emojis after typing a word, just like the default iOS keyboard. Microsoft needs to include Microsoft SwiftKey in their own App page under "Microsoft," just like they do with all their Microsoft products. The reason being that because it's not included under Microsoft's App page, Microsoft SwiftKey is not well heard of. And finally, I would like to suggest that it would be very neat for the consumers to have options to choose how they would like to style their Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard.

  • Still The Best, But "Flow" Accuracy Has Deteriorated

First, let me note that this is NOT a negative review. I still recommend the app, but I do see an issue happening that I think should be recognized.

I have been using SwiftKey for years, since long before Microsoft bought them out. It is/was a fantastic keyboard that you could actually see improve as it learned your patterns. Lately, however, (maybe the past 6-8 months?) the accuracy of my flow typing has deteriorated to the point I'm spending more time fixing its errors than typing my messages. I actually tried switching back to the stock IOS keyboard for a bit, though I ended up coming back to SwiftKey. I'd forgotten how IOS polices and censors "bad" language and that doesn't sit well with me, and their emoji and punctuation access is awkward as heck. SwiftKey still soundly trounces them in those areas.

I really hope that this issue sorts itself out, because aside from that, the keyboard is the best out there, hands down. The customizations, the way they've set up how you access emojis and punctuation, and other options are top-notch and no other keyboard I'm aware of comes close. For the time being, I've somewhat mitigated my issue by greatly slowing down my flow typing, which is ok but defeats the purpose of faster typing using flow.

  • Best keyboard but oh so glitchy

I've been using SwiftKey for 7 or 8 years now, mainly for the duel language abilities (not having to switch languages is amazing). I have tried switching to others or finding anything that anywhere near as good and have found it impossible. That said, the reason I've looked so many times is because it is so glitchy! It tends to be fine for a while, then it will get slower and slower in loading up, eventually causing the phone to load up a different keyboard instead, and eventually getting to the stage where it won't load at all. Usually I find uninstalling and reinstalling works, but not always. At the moment I'm completely unable to use it since the last update. Such a shame

  • Amazing

I have made many key boards this app is very simple and easy to use and it isn’t limited to have a certain amount of keyboards so u can make as many as u want and customise your own key board using any picture saved in your gallery!
  • Worst keyboard ever!!!!

still no update on this !! Swift key use to be the best keyboard for iPhone. Since adding a extra microphone next to the spacebar it’s shocking!
I don’t just use swift key for ‘sliding’ I often use to use it to text normally but for its productive feature. This is now IMPOSSIBLE due to the stupid, pointless mic icon. Constantly pushing it by accident which then takes you off your message to a different screen all together . I am not the only one that’s complained about this yet swift key chooses to ignore loyal customers and leave the poor design as it is. The keyboard is now too small and why do we need TWO mic buttons on a keyboard???!!!! Am currently typing this using my good, reliable Apple keyboard and that’ll b what I’ll continue with since swift key have no intentions of listening to their loyal, long term customers!!!!!

  • What happened?

This app was so amazing. It is the worst lately and I got used to having it. It selects rediculous words and every sentence I typed is wrong. Isn't it supposed to learn my habits? I am so so fed up with it.

I will now type this again with the word it selects when I hit enter, despite spelling it correctly on my end. So you can see how terrible it is.
