  • Privacy Issues and Often Dropped Connection Issues!

I used to love ring but they just changed the video footage download opinion. Now in order to download video’s you have to give them permission to access all your private photos and videos on your phone. Seriously! I pay a yearly subscription to download my video’s when I need to. Get out of here! Also, ring has been losing its video connection more often, so it takes a while to load and most of the time live video footage doesn’t work. Finally, I noticed that ring will make your video footage poor quality and make it disconnect often to make you buy a new peephole video camera. For example, when it was time to renew my subscription I canceled it for three day’s and than renewed it to see, if the video quality would get better at a later date. In the process I ordered a new peephole camera that same day, and my old peephole camera video and connection quality was now excellent quality with no connection issues, so I cancelled the order for the new peephole camera that same day. In two day’s the old peephole camera video footage went back to poor quality and started having connection issues again. Deceptive practices!!! Unfortunately, I am going to cancel my subscription and just buy my own private camera’s. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️🧐😡👎🏼

  • Only works intermittently

When I first got my cameras and downloaded the Ring app, everything seem to work really well. I could view any of my cameras, see my live views, got plenty of notifications, etc. over time however, the app has become less and less reliable. In fact, at this point, 5.7 0.0 doesn't even work at all. I can't even sign in. When I try to sign in, it just opens a page that says "406 not acceptable" the only reason I had to sign in was because I had to reinstall the app, because I cannot view video on the app at all. I get constant motion detection notifications, but I cannot view any of the videos, and I cannot view the live view. It works perfectly fine on my desktop. All my cameras are working, they all have current firmware. They are properly connected to my Internet. it appears that it is just the app that does not want to work. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it multiple times, sometimes it installs fine and basic functions work like being able to sign in, while other functions continue to not work, like viewing video. When I cannot view the video I attempt to reinstall, and get an app that won't even sign in. I am getting rid of all my dysfunctional Ring equipment and getting a better system. would not recommend the ring system.

  • Great marketing hype but no real “safety”

    1) Extremely clumsy app 2a) if you really start to think how the system works and if and when your SOS will reach police department, RING is no more than great marketing tool. 2b) from the time it detects motion/break-in, to the time it alerts you (by siren) and then you receive automated call from RING AND if ever the police is informed, few minutes have already lapses and you are already victim of crime. 2c) I have a panic button and I have no clue if it even works. I was told by agent the moment you press and hold for 3 seconds it will trigger authorities. 2d) none of above is documented anywhere and phone agents (in Asia) only make a guess 3) strongly suggest you purchase just device and do not purchase monitoring. It is lane 4) devices are dumb. For example, floodlight camera has two sensors. One for light and other for camera. They seem not in sync 5) by design it’s a dumb product. Google for RING videos and you will see people Jodi g face with hoodie or you see top of their head. 6) my ring door cam and floodlight camera look at same street and yet 20% times they record different stiff 7) often floodlight camera recording begins when the person that triggered motion has long gone 8) cannot fine tune notifications. People talk about random stuff and I get alerts midnight. I had to completely disable ALL notifications from RING

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to reach out and share your concerns with us. It covers how each emergency response plan works under Professional Monitoring, which should help address some of your concerns. As for your issues with motion detection, these are typically resolved through adjusting the settings. We'd love to offer further support with this.
