Totally unprofessional plataforma

This app is a joke , I opened a account to put for sell some antique jewelry, and I provided all information they asked for , like name , address, bank account and phone number, after I had provided those information they flagged my account for some reason I don’t know. I try to call and talk with someone for help and fix the problem they just said is nothing they can do ! I just think it is really Odd after I give my bank information they blocked my account. Looks very suspicious to me . I could provide my ID too but didn’t asked for . I’m glad I didn’t not . I don’t trust all .

You might not receive the item you won!

I bought an item that sold for less than I expected to pay. I then paid for the item. Two days later, the seller cancelled the sale. Excuse, he said the item “became damaged”. I asked the seller, Roberto Maura, Italy, for photographs Of the “damage”. He went dark and didn’t provide me with any documentation.
The people that work for this website did not help at all, basically saying they have no control of the sellers. What!?
One purchase, bad experience, I’m out.

Catawiki always requires sellers to ship the item three days after the buyer's payment. If they fail to do so, we will urge the seller by phone and email. But unfortunately, for your purchase, the seller indicated that they have no intent to ship the item due to the damage. Since the seller has refused to supply the item you bought, we've cancelled the sale and refunded you the full purchase price, shipping costs, and buyer’s commission fee to show our apologies. Be aware

Had to give 5 stars so that this review would be seen. It’s a zero star site. There is something not right about this auction app. I will explain and you tell me, so I waited on a lot that had zero bids on it. 20 seconds before it ended I added a bid. Then the timer reset to 1 min 30 seconds. And miraculously a new bidder turns up and places a bid. Bare in mind I had 20 seconds left originally. This has now happened on a few occasions. And each item has originally had zero bids and I’ve placed a bid in the last 20 seconds. And same thing happens each time. Also lots on here have a winning bid then a week later the same lot and picture turns up for sale again. My conclusion is they list stuff they don’t have to make the site look busy. And it will always auto bid against you on these lots.

Ripoff City

I’ve bought a few items from sellers on Catawiki and I’ve been burned every time. Do not buy from them, the service will not help you: flatly.

Poor customer service

The app is great if you get your item delivered. But beware as Catawiki support will not help you if it doesn’t come they will say it’s up to you and the seller to resolve.
The Catawiki messaging service is the only way to contact the seller. You can’t attach proof of non delivery or anything in the app so the seller can essentially avoid refunding you.
Catawiki customer service were awful telling me to check around my neighbourhood for the package, yeah thanks for that…and eventually say contact the seller despite offering an inadequate messaging service in which to do so.

Useless app!

It takes couple of days to drop your art and the curators try to sell the artworks with the lowest prices. I wasn’t satisfied with their actions, and supports. One of my artwork rejected without a reason.

Postage costs

I no longer bid for many items due to the ridiculous postage costs to the UK. I don’t know who sets postage prices, but these must put off loads of potential bidders. A real rip-off in many cases.

Glitchy?

Wouldn’t let me verify my phone number and then locked me out of my account.
