  • Speed and Heart Rate

I think the app should have your avg speed as one of the fields. However, more importantly there should be a heart emblem or symbol in the quick reference box. I don’t want to know other people’s heart rates but I would like to know if they are wearing one. I only say that because during races you end up chasing someone who is not worth chasing. Also the ones not wearing it tend to have incredible watts per kilo. The last race the winner had no HR and a 5.5 watt per kilo. Hmmm just wondering what UCI team
He is on. Of course he was DQ’ed and did not count in the standing, but the initial chasing of him through the race off.

  • Need to fix the Apple Watch bug

Trying to use this app is an exercise in frustration. Sometimes it will pair with Apple Watch, sometimes it won’t. Sometimes, apparently just for fun, it will pair and then lose the pairing in the middle of the ride. Consequently it is completely useless for doing any kind of actual target training workout as you can’t see your HR.

As an added note, my Apple Watch works PERFECTLY with apple fitness and other apps so it’s NOT an issue with hardware or anything to do with the OS; it’s 100% on the Zwift side.

I keep hoping someone there actually cares about user experience and will fix this but update after update goes by with no improvement. It’s a real shame because if it weren’t for the amateur-hour implementation this would be a great app.

  • Fantastic

I’ve been using the Zwift Companion App for many years now, it’s both functional and reliable. As a Ride Leader with a lot going on in each ride I use it to keep up with messaging just so I don’t miss anything 10/10
  • Great app

Great app with lots of live ride data and plenty of other areas to explore within the app. Bit disappointed the workout progress segments have disappeared and replaced with a flat grey line. Would also like to see a route progress within a workout not just after the workout is complete.
  • Great app but hopefully we can see these improvements

User weight is a big part of Zwift and updating it in the companion app needs to simpler. Could it read Apple health for example?

I do a lot of riding in my lunch break and I’m often tight for time. Being able to select a bike before a race in the companion app or being able to select a workout and route would be a great time saver.

Love the game and the app. Keep the updates coming!

  • Necessary companion app; works pretty well

This works fine and Zwift users need it. Eg, helpful if you want to chat while riding, seeing a map of current location, etc.

One quibble — if the main app is in an event or workout, I can’t use the companion app events tab to see what other events there are in Zwift and switch to one. I have to pretty much completely exit the main Zwift app in order to use the companion app to search events. This could easily be fixed and should be.

That issue aside, the app is helpful and stable.

  • Great app idea (when it works)

I love Zwift and love the idea of being to put my phone in the smartphone holder on my bike to have all my stats and be able to interact with other users and make edits to the game screen without getting up to pause on my Mac. However, this app doesn’t work half the time. Sometimes my stats don’t show up at all on the screen. And, I’ve only been able to pair my Apple Watch for heart rate with it once with multiple tries which is disappointing because I have to set up a separate indoor cycling workout to get that data. If those bugs were fixed, I was give this 5 stars for sure.

  • Hopeless Apple Watch Implementation

Firstly, the need to use a bridging app between your Apple Watch and iPad so that an Apple Watch can be used as a heart rate monitor is ridiculous. This is 2022, not 2002. For such a popular application, Zwift or apple should be able to figure out how to make a more direct connection.
Using your Apple Watch as a heart rate monitor when you use Zwift on the iPad is nearly impossible. You have to use the companion app on the iPhone to bridge the connection and 99% of the time it fails or looses connection after a few minutes. It’s literally the most infuriating experience when trying to concentrate on a ride.

Otherwise, the app is quite good. The menus are simple and easy to navigate.

  • Glitching

The filter function for activities won't reset, so I now have a tiny set of choices, none of which I'm interested in.
