  • A novices view of zwift

Before I signed up for zwift I was a bit sceptical about it but In reality, the experience I’ve had with it is just unbelievable, I am addicted now 3 months on from my initial ride I’ve become so familiar with it.. the app is essential when it comes to meet-ups and entering events. I cycle regularly with friends in Canada and I live in Ireland virtual or not the social interaction is real.. I wish I was a sales man for Zwift !! It is definitely a must have for all cyclists the real life feel of the rides is just so impressive every cyclist will understand what the “bug” is, well there is a zwift bug too and it has bit me.

  • Brilliant app

If your into zwift then this is must, great for looking at events coming up and booking you onto ride/race and then whilst riding you can look at your position on map chat to others via text etc. Also lots of info whilst in training programmes after clicking into the app it automatically goes to the event your participating in. Brilliant can’t fault it

  • Really wish they would sort out the Apple Watch HR issues

The app and platform is generally really good. Just 2 quibbles:
    - using Apple Watch for heart rate is almost impossible. I’m not buying another device. It either won’t pair or you have to stop the race / event / ride to pair it. Even then it isn’t stable and keeps cutting out or just freezing. I really don’t understand why they can’t make this work better.
    - it is almost impossible to see the profile of your ride. It would be great if a clear profile was visible so that you can see what is coming up the road and how long for. Knowing you have a 3 km incline at 5% would really help me to gauge my effort. The info you get on serious climbs is great. Why not have something similar (maybe trimmed down, a bit) for the rest of the route?

  • Very fun app with many features

Love this app, sometimes more than the Zwift app because it doesn’t malfunction. Adding big events like Tour de Zwift and Zwift Academy to track our events was so smart and efficient. Love the ride logs and ability to comment. Would be great to add the option to get notifications when the account holder comments on a ride log you’re interested in. Otherwise, very happy with this app.

  • Great on paper, poor in practice

I’ve been using Zwift for about 9 months now and was turned onto the app and indoor smart trainer cycling in response to the pandemic.

Zwift itself is a really well-thought-out tool for keeping training or general fitness fun, but the apps (both companion and the main app) are plagued by bugginess, unreliability, and total functionality breakdowns pretty much every time they update.

I run a Saris smart trainer, Zwift on my iPad Pro, Companion on my iPhone 11 Pro and companion on my Apple Watch series 5 for heart rate monitoring - I think all these things have worked, without issue, one time in nine months. Usually, if the mobile apps are working, the watch won’t connect; if the watch is working, companion on my phone isn’t working. As recently as today, my workout recorded in Health, pushed to Strava, but companion seems to think I did no such workout.

As previous reviewers have stated, Zwift refers to their knowledge base and forums where you have to go spelunking for hodgepodge solutions that will break with the next update.

I like Zwift, I’d love it if it worked reliably.

  • I want to love this App

Seriously...I’ve tried repeatedly to get this app to work either on my laptop or phone. I’ve downloaded the companion, the desktop version and I can never get this to sync properly. Nothing is intuitive about making this run. It reads the Wahoo Cadence and Speed trackers, will even register my RPM, but I’ve only been able to move my avatar once in every attempt. I’m sure it’s just me and my ability but I’m done trying.
I would LOVE to be able to engage with this but there are just too many bugs. Too many device connections and not enough explanation. Forget about the Help function...the light is on, but no one is home.

  • Just missing average speed

Seems to work ok but makes you question if it’s your WiFi or just a glitch with so many drop outs. Just nit picking though, loving it. would love to see average speed for rides show up. Also, an easy way to see if you are almost finished your intended route instead of just having to remember the distance you glanced at when you began. Map function could show different segments or sprint points to better prepare for them too.

  • Full Access

Users should be able to see their full stats, change profile/avatar/bike, see challenges/medals, etc. without starting a ride (which we then delete in order to start the ride with a fresh clock...). The companion app should have these features. Or at least fix the game to enable access without starting a ride.

(If I just don’t know how to do this, please tell me and I’ll edit review to 5 stars.)

Ps: please partner with iFit/NordicTrack - would be so fun to run in the Zwift world on our treadmill without a foot pod, automatically control incline, etc.

  • Love it all

Thanks Zwift for this app and the whole program it is awesome. I have met so many wonderful people and love all the challenges, badges, routes, worlds, races and fun I have. Keep up the great work and ignore the whining that’s just people 🥴
  • Delivers so little when used with Apple TV

I feel deeply let down by this app. All I want to do is connect up more than 2 Bluetooth sensors using Zwift when using an Apple TV. Despite trying over several days I have never managed to do this. I am reasonably technically savvy, follow instructions well but I guess I am unlucky? All other apps on my iPhone will connect to my sensors but not this one. I guess Zwift will say it’s Apple and Apple will say it’s Zwift. I guess everyone will say it’s Bluetooth (ant+ works flawlessly with my MacBook and a dongle) or blame me. All I can say is if I can set up a home network and configure a 4 drive nas It can’t be me can it?
