Best recording app out there.
I’m a recording engineer and music producer. When I’m working with a band, I plug in my Sennheiser ambeo headset which has mics in the headphones and use the meta recorder app to record pre production. It’s incredible. Have to say thanks to apogee for fixing the Dropbox sync issues :)

Glad to see they released an update for this!
Dropbox sync doesn’t work.
Please stop advertising features the app doesn’t have, its disingenuous at best. Dropbox sync doesn’t work at it seems like it hasn’t for a long time. Please fix it. Not a great look for Apogee’s business ethics to advertise a nonexistent feature that has been pointed out by users for many many months.

Updates Break It
This app is great with some serious exceptions.
Every time I update it, it forgets that I've unlocked unlimited recording. If I don't have my Apogee interface with me, the app is useless.

Bad app good mic
Using with ambeo binaural headset. This app freezes whenever I try to share a recording. I recommend using another recording app with these mics.
Nice App but cannot rotate screen
I use a Rode iXY mic on my iPhone 6s. I use Rode Rec to record which does a normal screen rotation when I turn phone upside down to point mic away from me. The MetaRecorder does not allow screen rotation so to record with this mic the screen is upside down. Very strange feature problem for such an advanced app.

Award winning!
I really don’t understand the reviews here. I have won 3 awards and nominated 12 times for the films I have done with this incredible app! I use RODE Lav Mics with my old iPhones that I no longer use (iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE). I utilize this app to the maximum with my Apple Watch and it has never crashed or froze. You can view all my iPhone films at on Vimeo or even IMDB me for proof.

Random background launch
As noted in another review, this app has a bug that causes it to run the app in the background at seemingly random times, draining your battery. Release notes for the last update claim a fix for this but obviously that is incorrect. The basic app is great and does what it claims but app developers are dropping the ball on fixes.

Perfection in Simplicity
I use this with Sennheiser digital mic as a portable audio recorder for DSLR filming. Very simple to use and supports broadcast wave file, it is very useful when editing in Finalcut. Only drawback I found was the audio monitor through build in speaker on the phone only, it would be great if this supports Bluetooth headphones for audio monitoring.

Background battery killer.
I installed MetaRecorder on my iPad to use with some Apogee hardware and it worked okay. But the App Store also installed it on my phone and it mysteriously started running in the background. I don’t know how it started launching, but I kept seeing the clock on my iPhone X on a red background indicating some app was using the microphone. I took away its mic privileges and force quit it a few days ago, but it somehow started running in the background again yesterday, and according to the battery panel in Settings has consumed 38% of my battery in the last 24 hours, consuming power as fast as my inductive charger can charge it. How is it launching, and what on earth is it doing to burn all that battery when there’s no audio hardware or mic access?! Goodbye, MetaRecorder.
