  • Amazing Game!

After 11 hours of playing and finishing this game, I am in awe. This game was sooo amazing to play and the design work along with all the visuals was just amazing. The story plot of the game fit so well with the puzzles and it really makes you feel like your this little blue ember trying to give others hopes/helping others. As you go further and further in the game the puzzles get more challenging which is great since most games I’ve played before tend to stay relatively the same in difficulty. Overall, this is the best game I’ve played. So sad I’m done with it but always hoping there’s another story plot for this game one day.

  • AMAZING. A console level game

This game is phenomenal. I need more controller compatible full story games like this from the App Store. I’m someone who doesn’t have a switch but would like one and if there were more games like this one on the App Store I would never feel the need to purchase any other consoles. This game is so beautiful and fun to play. It’s challenging while not be a sole puzzle game. I love being able to use my controller and feel like I’m playing on a switch (except with better graphics amiright?) 10/10 game and I hope to see more indie game developers put their console apps on the iOS store ☺️

  • Beatuiful game of puzzles

Just finished the game today. Had a total of 7 in game hours and they were definitely 7 hours well spent. This game does an amazing job of blending a beautiful art style with a sense of exploration and puzzles that give a satisfied feeling when completed. Most of the puzzles were the perfect difficulty where you may not figure them out immediately but through trial and error or just thinking about it a few minutes you make meaningful progress until it was completed. The story that was intertwined was nothing too extravagant but was enough to keep my interest to see how exactly it would end. Easily one of my fave games of the year and I look forward to any similar projects released. Great job by the team that put together the game. Thank you for an awesome experience.

  • Beautifully Done

I knew as soon as I finished the game I had to come and write a review. I didn’t even read any reviews before I got the game, just the premise seemed interesting, so if anything I am hoping that all of the people who worked on the game are able to see this and know that they have made a truly remarkable game. There are so many pieces of this that I could say is my favorite, but the most is the voice that narrates the game. It reminds me of Aurora Aksnes and it felt like she was cooing to me the whole time. After a bit of time, to forget the solutions, I’m definitely going to come back to this and play again. It was all so beautiful and left me happy crying at the end. I loved it.

  • Absolutely amazing!

The fact it’s short is the ONLY draw back in this beautiful game. The characters are well made, the story is beautiful and the puzzles were actually challenging to a degree. I loved the sense of “reading a book” feeling throughout the game. It had me hungry for the next puzzle, next clue or sequence! It was dazzling in structure and performance! I can’t praise this game enough! Whoever had this idea needs to expand the game! I want ANOTHER game like this! I am dazzled by the smooth look too! It is almost like playing a PS4/Wii game! I am amazed by the graphics and the simplicity yet completely complex use of genius...
I would give this game a 10/5 stars! I rarely find games I truly love, and I hope there will be more from this game/creator in similar design! Fabulous job folks!

  • Beautiful and engaging - LOVE everything about it

I loved this game so much. The graphics were stunning, the sound design and music perfect, and the puzzles were just the right level of challenging yet not too hard. Being immersed in this world and story was such a treat especially during these stressful times. I adored Ember the main character and appreciated the pronouns they/them. The story and narration were excellent as well. I got a little frustrated with navigating the boat (only using the touch screen) but I figured it out after struggling a little - that was the only very minor critique I had. Otherwise game play and controls were very smooth. I was sad when I finished, I wanted more! Thanks so much for the wonderful experience of this delightful game! I might just play it again to go back to this world.

  • Helps with depression

I would really really like to push for this game to be free to the public... I understand that that’s not entirely realistic but the way the story is portrayed i seriously think this game could help people who are depressed. The fisherman for example couldn’t find his worth because he couldn’t catch fish and so we had to bring his flame back and make him motivated again ... the games storyline is nothing but making depressed lost characters realize that they do have self worth. The calming and rejuvenating theme to the game helps more than some might know... This is a simple and quite childish game but the way the developers created the in game experience (on nothing more than a little blue dude helping others), i truly think this game COULD help people, and i’m only on level 4... great game 10/10.

  • Great puzzle game

Very good game. Thoughtful puzzles throughout that encourage your solving skills to evolve.

If you like environmental puzzle games this will probably be your cup of tea. It reminded me a lot of old school point and click adventures with a splash of Zelda flavor.

I loved the story, many great life analogies throughout. I appreciated the expression of how we help each other through life. It took me about 6.5 hours to finish everything. It is definitely a game worth taking your time to appreciate the details in. The voice acting is very good. Also, if you find yourself wondering why everything is in plural in this game it is because they wrote all the characters gender neutral. It works well since the character stories don’t need any particular gender associated with them, so all of the analogies are just about people in general. It took me a little bit to figure it out but once I did I like it.

The game is very elegant and the gameplay mixed with soundtrack reminds me a lot of Journey but as a puzzle game. It was very relaxing to play.

All in all, very good, highly recommend.

  • An Adorable Existential Crisis

The Last Campfire is one of those games that’s easy to pick up when you have few minutes to spare but you’ll find it’s pretty hard to put down.

I don’t know what to say about this game. I had zero expectations aside from it looked puzzley and gave it a try just to cross it off the list. There’s a gorgeous lived in world with endearing character and characters. Not too many or too few puzzles that were somehow just hard enough to be a challenge but not so hard I ever had to google a solution. The music is fantastic and together with the narrator just creates a dreamy quality that’s hard to capture these days. Overall of that it made me care about its characters.

I’ve played they probably 2/3 of Apple Arcade now and so far The Last Campfire is definitely one of the most memorable.

  • Absolutely beautiful

I have never been more captivated and moved by an app game in my life, this game actually moved me and made me feel both challenged and satisfied with the characters and story. I just finished it, and I really have no words other than- if you like puzzles and games that both make you think and feel TRY THIS ONE! The music is great, the style are adorable the narration is amazing, I just love all of it.

I would suggest this to anyone and it is my new favorite game to play, I only wish I could have the experience of playing it for the first time again and again because it’s just that good!

Side note: I noticed two minor glitches during the game but nothing too major. The first time I went to interact with the robot and ended up getting stuck behind him, I wasn’t able to interact with him for awhile while I tried to figure out how to get back in front of him. The second was the puzzle where I interacted with him, I would be able to use the horn but when I stepped forward I was exited out of the puzzle every time I moved. For the puzzle part I just had to restart the app and open it up again, after that it was fine, but when I was stuck behind him I had to just keep trying to get in front of him.

Other than those minor glitches I feel as though the game ran perfectly and I had no problems other than that!
