Leave a Review Apollo for Reddit
Amazing app & incredible developer
Apollo is the perfect way to access Reddit. With lots of features that are convenient to use, and tailored to the average users needs, it's leagues better than the official Reddit mobile app. I cannot stand the website any longer, I've been spoiled by Apollo.
The developer is responsive to bugs and feature requests, allowing for the community to make requests to make the app better. Not to mention the app is free, with no ads or requests for payment, the premium versions of the app only add minimal features that are nice to have, but not critical.
With the changes that Reddit is implementing, Apollo has announced the inevitable shutdown of the app, due to the pressure applied by Reddit's CEO u/spez. I'm sad to see it go, especially because of corporate greed, but I am grateful for the full clarity that Christian, Apollo's dev, has provided over the years. I hope that Reddit backtracks, so Apollo can carry on, but at this time I have deleted my account, and uninstalled Apollo. Thanks for the amazing app, Christian.Show lessThe best app for Reddit
I'm ashamed to admit that I've been a Reddit user for 7 years (of course, there are others worse off than me, but personally, those 7 years account for a sizable portion of my life). On the upside, most of those years were spent on Apollo, which is, in my opinion, the best third-party app to use Reddit with. If nothing else, it handily beats out the official app. It offers a sleek, user friendly, easily customizable Reddit experience, and provides users with a number of quality features the official app doesn't have—including accessibility options—and unlike many other apps, every update has only made it better. It pains me that Reddit's recent policy changes and its resultant, frankly awful treatment of anyone who voiced concerns has forced Apollo and several other third-party apps to shut down. Apollo is a gorgeous app, designed by an open, communicative developer; all in all, an outstanding example of what an app should do to offer an excellent user experience. I can't imagine using Reddit any other way, and I'm sorry to see Apollo go. As they say here in NJ and probably many other places, it's been real.Show lessBest app for Reddit browsing
Thank you Apollo for all of the wonderful features and elegant UI choices that the original Reddit app could only dream of achieving. Thank you for the gestures, great media players, fantastic iOS support, and so much more. Thank you for caring about its users and not defaulting to throwing ads at its users for profit. It’s a shame that Reddit’s API changes and their greed have eventually come to shut this app down. This app did not deserve what Reddit threw at it. Ultimately, now many users will no longer have the great functionality of Apollo, and will be forced to use the “official” Reddit app filled with unbearable design choices, incessant ads, and countless other issues that make it unbearable, all in hopes that they can maximize profits by making sure everyone must use their ad-infested app. Even Apple loves this app and Reddit is sadly taking this app away from them as well. I’m really sad to see Apollo go soon but it’s impact will never be forgotten. Christian, if you’re reading this, thank you for the app and all of the hard work you’ve done for the Reddit community. Keep on creating and I hope you the best!Show less
