  • Well made game, if you enjoy this type!

Obviously similar to Scrabble but has additional board designs. Downloaded without problems. Different levels of difficulty. I play the computer but you can play against others on and offline. There don’t seem to be stats available which would be helpful.
  • Brilliant, but....,

First let me say I’m loving this game, I have customised the board and tiles so it’s exactly the same as scrabble. I was panicking that when I got a new phone I would lose my original scrabble because of scrabble go, but this is the answer, really great. But... i think there is something wrong with the letter distribution algorithm. I seem to spend far too much time just trying to dump vowels, it just throws them at you non-stop. And very often if you play one or two vowels on their own, you get exactly the same letters back again. This happens far too often for it to be a coincidence. Having played real scrabble on a board with a bag of letters for many years, I know this is not the norm, so I definitely think there’s something wrong. Fix this and it will be a perfect scrabble experience.
Update: it’s not just vowels, if you play any single letter as your turn, you invariably get the same letter back, whether it be C, V, whatever. Definitely something wrong here

  • Pro is worth it

I am another Scrabble player who was both annoyed and disappointed when the Scrabble app was destroyed by supposed improvements. WordMaster gives the same satisfaction as the original Scrabble, plus I like to support a satisfying app by paying for the non-advertising Pro version. Big bonus: I just discovered the dictionary editor capability!

  • Best version of Scrabble

This is the best version of Scrabble that I’ve found on the web — far better than the official Scrabble app (which was ruined in its latest makeover by tons of annoying ads and bells and whistles). It’s a straightforward game that lets you play against the computer at different skill levels, and has a couple of nice features: it will tell you the definition of any word on the board, and it will tell you what it thinks the best play was on your turn. The pro version is definitely worth it for any serious player — a lovely ad-free experience. My only suggestion to improve it is to add an option that would always let the human player go first. (We need every edge we can get!)

  • Five stars — and 3 questions

This is a great game once customized to my liking. But here are some questions/requests:

    1) It would be nice to access the list of two-letter words with one click, not three clicks.
    2) Your game description says that it will tell me if a word is valid or invalid as I place it on the board. This does NOT happen until I press play. Am I missing something?
    3) Your app description says there is access to two dictionaries in English. I do not see them. Should I be able to look up words? Or does this refer to the function of swiping for a definition AFTER the word is played?

Thanks for a wonderful game that I play every day. Looking forward to your response to my questions.

  • Excellent

So much better than scrabble go with the horrible graphics, attempts to lure you into other games, and other nastiness that game has become. This game is everything you’re looking for if you just want to play scrabble. After the first day I played the free version I knew I wanted to support this app and buy the pro version. Thank you app developer!!

  • Great!

My wife always beat me at scrabble so I had hoped that finding this ap would help. Beyond my wildest dreams! At first I could just handle medium. A couple hundred games later I am holding my own against 'master'. That's a fun learning curve. Now my brilliant wife and I play even team up together against the ap, it's a hoot. I so appreciated it I paid the couple $ for pro. It is nice to be able to adjust the dictionary.

  • Far better than the original Scrabble EA

So glad that I found Word Master after the demise of the old Scrabble EA game. Even if the old Scrabble were to revert back to its original format I can NOT or will not go back. Word Master is sensibly well thought out and a big three cheers to it's creators/programmers for an enriching and positive game experience. I love the 'night mode' which can be done by creating your own board layout.

  • Seems to be the best choice

I have played the old Hasbro Scrabble and really enjoyed it, but ever since the official Scrabble changed hands, it has been a disappointing experience. That said, once I discovered Word Master, I am able to play against the computer (rather the iPhone 😉) and also challenge myself and build my skills. The only downside is I would really like to play against a human and that seems like it may not be an option with this app - at least I haven’t figured out how to do it yet. But nonetheless I do recommend this app if you’re a serious scrabble player!

  • Better than Scrabble

This word game is Scrabble go plus, for me. Not expensive and No ads! You get hints after you play your turn so it’s not so much like cheating and you can see the meaning of a word by skimming it. I do wish it used the Scrabble dictionary or some identifiable dictionary that I could check, because I had some words commonly in use but they were not accepted. A dictionary one can check while in the app wd be best. I can’t think of other points at the moment—must get back to my game!
