We are very sorry to hear you have had difficulties and we'd like to address your two points. 1) The whole concept of Strydr is for city walking navigation and the primary navigation tool is a pointer aligned to your destination. You have to buy into this first as the reason to use Strydr and if this idea does not work for you then quite honestly it's not the app for you. Think about the challenges of walking out of a subway exit and trying to decide which way to walk, we remove all the guess work out of the direction of your destination and liberate you from relying on turn-by-turn direction. NOTE: Strydr is dependent on your iPhone's location data, if this is not accurate or working at all then nor will Strydr, or any other navigation app for that matter. 2) Strydr uses the method of starring a destination to save it. In Trip Planner you first "Go to start location" (type in anywhere in the world, a city, address, point of interest) then " Search & star to save". You will see a star in the top right hand corner after you select a destination from the search results, simply tap the star then select the 'tick' to save immediately or select the 'tag' if you want to group your saved places. You will then find all your saved places in the 'Saved places' list. All this information is in the tutorial which appears on first install and you can get to from the settings menu item. I hope we can persuade you to try again :)
