Next to useless
Speaker sound is fine. This software is junk. Won't stay in contact with network. When it finds it, always fails to find music on USB drive, or finds once then has to be restarted to try for next song. Speaker fine for Bluetooth use but useless for network. Hitachi1 needs to replace this crap software.

Great sound. Everything else awful.
I bought eight of these after hearing them at Walmart. The sound is great.... Other than that they are awful. The app crashes constantly, if you try to connect more than two or three together they're always cutting out. They have to be reset constantly or the app won't recognize they are on. They don't link with Apple Music or Pandora (unless you connect through Bluetooth but then it's only one speaker at a time). Super bummed.

Joke
Would have never made the purchase if I had known it would. It work with Apple Music. Just Sad!
Jokkkkkkeeeee.
Total waste of money. Can't use your Apple Music or Pandora which just makes it pretty much useless. Who wants to go through all of the trouble of download new playlist all over again through Spotify? Not I. Not today, Satan.
Limited music streams
Very disappointment since it does not offer iTunes support !!!
No Apple Music Support???!!!
Would rate higher if there would be support for Apple Music. Limited capabilities without. Contemplating returning because of this.
Needs to support Apple Music and Slacker and Pandora
When will this be added? This is a flaw. I work for Hitachi and I find this product to be short sighted. If there was an internal method for product feedback, I would use it instead of this public forum. Speakers sound good though.
Poor Music Service Support
Bought this to setup wifi music throughout my house. Only supports limited music sevices. No pandora? Really? No iHeartRadio? No Slacker? No Apple Music? No Amazon Music? Just because of this...I am taking all of the speakers back.
Buy Sonos Instead. *updated*
The app works fine, the speakers are junk, unless you're looking for a very expensive iPhone speaker that you connect with Bluetooth and then leave your iPhone lying right beside. In spite of what the makers say, you can *not* play different things on different speakers (unless you have a separate iPhone for each speaker), and you can *not* play things that are on your computers that share the wifi connection with the speakers. You can play what's on your iPhone, and you can use your spotify account. That is all. The Bluetooth connection is so weak that the iPhone must be in the same room with the speaker.

We bought these because they seemed, from the makers' representation, a decent and less expensive substitute for our Sonos system, which we love and which performs excellently but is more pricey. After dealing with these, we will gladly be buying Sonos and never look at these again.
There are lots of Bluetooth speakers out there. The reason I am dissatisfied is that I bought what purported to be a wifi speaker and it only performs as a Bluetooth speaker. I realize that operator error is a common cause for this type of complaint but I am decently tech savvy and this is the only wifi device in my home that fails to function adequately.
If anything changes and these begin to do what they are marketed to do or if I discover what I am doing wrong, I will update this review with apologies to the makers. For now, I am a disgruntled customer who is saving my pennies for a trustworthy Sonos.

Works well but....
It is nice that you can control all your speaker and music functions from your iPhone or iPod (version 6 or later) but why not a app for a iPad? Also sometimes the functions are sluggish to respond; next song, etc. BT works excellent for me, just select the speaker in "settings" and you're good to go. I agree that a EQ should be in the next update!
