### 5/5 — Update

*2026-06-17, version 3.0.8*

Newest update has the Dark Mode icon and fixed the bug that wouldn’t let me subscribe to Premium. Updating my rating to 5 stars 🔥

### 2/5 — Mehh

*2026-06-02, version 3.0.7*

I applaud the ‘we’re against tracking’ message just after downloading. But to then only have a paragraph of an article before paywall puts me instantly off ever using this app or the browser website.

What’s the point in smart phone nowadays when you’re constantly tracked or forced to pay ‘to not be tracked’ allegedly! It all just reeks of pish!

### 3/5 — Update your app

*2026-02-02, version 3.0.5*

Hi 9to5mac, you guys always talk about Apple News but you never update your app to support the latest technology like Liquid Glass and the latest software Apple offer
It’s very embarrassing for you guys still NOT yet updating your app and you always keep talking about the world of Apple
Please update your app as soon as possible
You guys take forever exactly like Apple to give something doesn’t need that long
Thanks in advance

### 1/5 — Can’t Subscribe

*2025-11-07, version 3.0.4*

App won’t let me subscribe to get rid of ads

### 1/5 — No Dark Mode Icon Support?

*2025-11-04, version 3.0.4*

How does a media app focusing day and night on Apple, its hardware and software, design standards, etc. still not have a dark mode icon in 2025? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen articles and social media posts from 9to5 complaining about “that one app” that breaks the home screen when dark mode icons are enabled. Newsflash 9to5Mac: your own app is part of the problem. Part of what you write about is Apple’s attention to detail and critique 3rd party software when it doesn’t adhere to standards. We’ve had dark mode icons for how long now? How do you still not have one? It’s honestly a ridiculous oversight for an organization so focused on this stuff.
