Adding the number of cards with zero value to the total number of cards counted would make the True Count more accurate because the Running Count can then be divided by how many cards are left in the shoe; so by excluding the cards with zero value in the total cards counted (or dealt) the number of cards left in the shoe is inaccurate. I work in casino surveillance. This is a great program it gives the option to use several different counting systems. However the first review is correct if you get caught using any counting device in a casino you will be arrested. It becomes illegal when you use a device to help (like an iPhone/iPod). It would make things more seamless and a lot easier to keep track. For numbers sake. Also you seem to have left out counting the numbers that equate to zero which makes the TC not super accurate. Can you change this so the neutral numbers are accounted for when keeping count? It really is the only reason I would use Hi Opt II that gives me the advantage and how I make my player decisions on how much to bet. Let me know if you do or not. While card counting is not illegal, using a device in a casino IS illegal. Either way, it clearly states in the app description that if you want the vibrate and stealth options, then DON'T update. This is a great app, and as a casino surveillance employee that tries to catch card counters, I have a bit of experience in the matter. By the way, from a gamblers perspective, this app would be more useful as a training and practice tool. Anyone with a bankroll large enough to actually count cards in a casino would probably be able to do so without help from an application. ### 5/5 — Back to great!!! *2009-06-08, version 0* I always hold true to my word. 2.2.1 fixed all issues, and the estimated true count works great. Although counting is not illegal, using this program in a casino would be, as most states have laws against the use of electronic devices at the table. That said, this makes for great practice; my team uses one dealer that does not count, but now he can keep the others on top of the accurate true count without losing focus of the dealing process. Also it would be great for people that have trouble with true count conversion, and wish to know that info by just keeping a basic count. It doesn't teach you how to use the card counting system. You can't use in a casino or you can be charged with a felony. California gaming authorities tipped off their Nevada counterparts to a blackjack card-counting program that can be used on either the Apple iPhone or the Apple iPod Touch portable music player. "The program calculates the true count and does it significantly more accurately," according to a Gaming Control Board memorandum sent to casino operators last week warning of the electronic device. Card counting is not illegal in Nevada casinos. However, using a device to aid in the counting of cards is considered a felony under Nevada laws governing cheating, control board member Randy Sayre said. Gamblers using the iPhone card-counting program can be detained by casino operators and arrested by state gaming agents. "We wanted to put the industry on notice to be aware this device is out there," He added that there haven't been any reports of the device being used in Nevada. Sayre and the agency consider the iPhone program an electronic method for cheating. Operators of a Northern California Indian casino discovered customers using the program and alerted the California Bureau of Gambling Control.The program is installed through the iTunes Web site. It makes counting cards easier, Sayre said. The program uses four different strategies for card counting. It also operates in the "stealth mode," in which the phone's screen is shut off. The program can be run effortlessly without detection as long as the user knows where the keys are. Sayre said it is up to individual casino operators to decide policies concerning the use of cellular phones and other electronic devices at gaming tables. Last year, state gaming regulators eliminated the ban on cellular phones inside race and sports books. After iPhones came on the market in 2007, Harrah's Entertainment halted their use at the World Series of Poker. Cellular phones are banned at the tournament, although iPods and other MP3 players are allowed.
