## What is A Nod?

Someone tells you about a book you'd love. You mean to remember it. Two weeks later all you have left is the feeling that you were supposed to read something.

A Nod is where that goes.

It holds the recommendations that came from people you actually know — with their name on them and their own words about why. Not a watchlist. Not a feed. No algorithm deciding what you ought to want next.

HOW IT WORKS

Someone mentions something good. You log it in a few seconds: what it was, who told you, and why they thought you'd love it. A Nod fills in the cover and the details quietly afterwards, so you never have to stop the conversation to look something up.

Later, when you're deciding what to read or watch, you aren't staring at a list of titles. You're looking at who vouched for them.

WHAT A LIST CAN'T TELL YOU

Three different people recommended the same film. A Nod shows you they converged, because when taste lines up like that it means something.

You loved two of the three things one friend sent you. That's on their record now, and the next thing they say carries that weight.

You want something to start tonight. Instead of a queue, you get the people whose taste has actually landed for you, and you choose from there.

CAPTURE HAS TO KEEP UP

Recommendations arrive mid-sentence. If logging one is a chore, you won't.

Share sheet — send a link straight in from Messages, Safari, anywhere.
Siri — say it out loud while you're driving and it's saved. No setup.
Widgets — what you're in the middle of, on your home screen.
Spotlight — everything you've saved is searchable from the system, not only inside the app.

Books, films, TV, podcasts, music and games.

WHEN IT LANDS, TELL THEM

Finishing something good is only half of it. A Nod builds a card you can send back to the person who recommended it, their words beside your verdict — or post it anywhere, if you'd rather tell everyone at once.

PRIVATE, AND NOT AS A SELLING POINT

There is no account to make. There is no server of ours for your things to sit on. No analytics, no tracking, no ads.

What you save stays on your device and syncs through your own iCloud, where only you can reach it. Contacts are read only if you ask, only to put a face to a name, and never leave your phone.

If you read on Hardcover, you can connect your own account and keep your shelf in step. It stays off until you turn it on, and who recommended a thing, why, and what you thought of it are never sent anywhere.

FREE TO TRY

Seven days, everything open. After that, whatever you've already saved stays yours to browse and search — adding new recommendations needs a one-time unlock. One purchase. No subscription, no recurring charges, ever.
