Had I known tilt was an essential function in this game, I may have passed. What is here is great, but i personally cannot stand tilt controls, and it ruined the experience for me. Someone mentioned it was like "playing art"... It's most certainly not. The graphics are moderately interesting, but I have tons of truly beautiful games that also have substance. This game just isn't fun. Shooting the bats/birds, whatever they are, was difficult, but it got old really quick. Replay value is nil. Check out Ridiculous Fishing for the best example of an amazing"indie art" game. And if you want to feel like you're "playing art", then get Smash Hit. That is what playing art looks and feels like to me. This is NOTHING SPECIAL! I really do not understand the high ratings. It's not a horrible game; it's just not fun. Minimal, yes; 'elegant', no. Simple, yes; 'epic' or 'breathtaking', no. Also, wildly frustrating in late levels with the poor control scheme. You will die. A lot. Cute, worth a buck, but not important or enduring. Also, bad grammar or missing words at points. Finally, the crisp narration font is out of sync with the 8-bit look, which they use for the title lettering but not the rest of the game. ### 3/5 — Infuriating. *2016-08-11* Absolutely worth 99¢. The only downside is that the tilt-to-move controls are infernally frustrating. All other aspects of the game are great. Update: Tilt-to-move scheme is just not working for me as the game progresses. I like challenging games but I feel like this is just too wonky for me to get a feeling for; it doesn't feel natural at all. Half of the time I'm tilting my screen at such an angle that I can hardly see the screen. I would much rather a touch-based control system to move the character, or at least the option for one. I'm docking two stars because of multiple rage quits. Final Update: Deleted the game. I guess an arcade-style tilt-to-move shooter just isn't for me. Died too many times, and why play a game that I don't find fun? The music is beautiful, hypnotic and sort of lulling, makes me wish the boss music was as ephemeral. I dig the difficult controls, it's never really frustrating because you never have to go very far back when you die. It is a very short but artistic game with simple old-school graphics which always appeals to me. The character has a pony tail and I liked that I could identify with the character as a woman, but then it's narrated as "he," oh well. ### 5/5 — Very Fun *2015-08-04* This game has a very nice aesthetic and the gameplay was fun as well. Replayable and definitely worth purchasing. ### 5/5 — Beauty in Simplicity *2015-07-30* This game is fantastic. The looks are simplistic as its controls. You are a young archer that must defeat stages of demons while on horseback. You drawback your arrows by just dragging any part of the screen. Though sometimes your fingers get in the way of your view, it works for this game. The types of enemies changes for every environment change, ending with a particular boss that embodies the peaks of those enemy types. These enemies give the right amount of difficulty: not too easy nor annoying. This is a very short game. I've beaten the whole game in around an hour. This game has some replay value because it rewards you with bows that have different attack patterns. I replayed it with a bow that can shoot multiple arrows.
