### 2/5 — Mistakes

*2024-07-28, version 3.4*

I don’t see a way to directly send feedback to the app makers but there are some mistakes in the info provided that I’m surprised could have passed scrutiny. I’m using the app to make sense of HOtD, Fire and Blood, etc, and it’s hard when the app I’m looking to reference is confused as well. For example, Alicent and Viserys’ fourth child is Daeron. The app lists Viserys’ son Daeron as Daeron I and links that son to the page of Daeron I who it then states is the monarch and son of Aegon III (right??). I know it’s confusing with all the repeating names but that’s why I paid for the app. So the app isn’t really helping me if it turns out I know more than the app 😬🫣

### 2/5 — Charged me $15.99 on my card when i thought it would only be $4.99

*2024-07-01, version 3.4*

Why did it charge me $15.99, when it said it would only be $4.99?! Did I accidentally buy all the packs separately then the whole bundle?! WTH?! Love the app but hate that it did that.

### 2/5 — Feels predatory

*2024-06-07, version 3.4*

I purchased all of the info packs at once - advertised in the app for $4.99 and it charged my card $26.20.

Heads up to all.

Otherwise the app is cool. Would be a 5/5 had it not charged my card a different amount than it should have.

### 2/5 — In desperate need of updating!

*2023-04-01, version 3.4*

Would love this if it included everyone from Aegon’s conquest forward!

### 4/5 — Wishing for an update

*2023-02-04, version 3.4*

I’m new to the GRRM universe and have loved getting into HOTD/F&B but wish this app was expanded on! Would really love to see that information recorded as well on an app as easy as this but the wikia and google will do I suppose.

### 4/5 — People

*2023-01-12, version 3.4*

It’s cool but I would list “People” alphabetically by their last name. Would make the navigation less time consuming

### 3/5 — Good start for getting into a song of ice and fire

*2022-12-28, version 3.4*

This app heavily focuses on the A song of ice and fire series if you are reading those books it is a good starting point. However if you are wanting to learn about the history of the world of ice and fire before Robert’s rebellion you would be better of using YouTube videos and wiki’s as they are far more in-depth and informative than this app is at present.

### 2/5 — Not Updated. In App Purchases

*2022-10-25, version 3.4*

Has not been Updated for House of Dragons.
Also I’m surprised to see that it requires a $4.99 purchase to complete.
I already pay for HBO and the books - and for some known reason, there is no map in “Fire & Blood”

### 3/5 — Game of Thrones

*2022-09-17, version 3.4*

OK as far as it goes BUT it only covers a small number of persons, places, etc. GOT has MANY more of all of these. Any plans to complete the GOT story?🤔

### 3/5 — Pretty cool

*2022-08-27, version 3.4*

This app would be a lot cooler if it detailed every character in the series. and used whatever art was available for that character. A section for all the dragons would also be interesting.

### 3/5 — Needs an update

*2022-08-22, version 3.4*

With Game of Thrones back in the cultural awareness due to House of the Dragon, this could use an update. Information from the books World of Ice and Fire, Fire & Blood, and the Targaryen novellas would be helpful, useful, and interesting.

### 4/5 — How do I add new character options to the menu where I can track a character’s journey?

*2022-07-16, version 3.4*

App is overall great. I just need help with using the “journey” feature as I described in the title of this review.

### 4/5 — Getting better

*2022-07-06, version 3.4*

They have added a ton of characters within the last year, which is great to see. I would love to see more houses added. There are currently only 15.

### 2/5 — Crash bug!

*2022-05-25, version 3.4*

It crashes after a search and click. I noticed it when looking for Daemon but I’ve noticed during other searches as well. A bug or the server?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Pathetic

*2025-02-26, version 3.4*

There is almost nothing of value unless you pay. Even the maps are very limited, with few locations named. Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — Missing tons of information

*2025-02-06, version 3.4*

This is an incomplete encyclopedia of GRRM's work. Missing some very prominent characters and places. I was a fool and bought the full version, thinking it would have that additional information. I feel scammed.

### 1/5 — Ruthless

*2024-12-10, version 3.4*

Even after reluctantly purchasing all info packs, it continues to insist I purchase more to use hyper links. It’s a clunky app, and the map is pretty terrible. Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — It’s a paid app

*2024-10-05, version 3.4*

It’s only good if you pay for it but when you pay it’s great. Shame more content isn’t free

### 1/5 — Where’s all the content?

*2024-02-06, version 3.4*

When I first open the app, I tap “houses,” and get nothing. Same with places, groups, creatures, religions, things. Have the devs destroyed all the content? Would’ve been useful for late watchers of the show like me.

### 1/5 — Stole my money

*2023-07-28, version 3.4*

Paid for the all access pass can’t open stuff been ripped off. Joffery must be behind this!

### 1/5 — Nothing works

*2023-05-28, version 3.4*

Don’t know if it’s because I didn’t pony up for in-app purchases, but I can only access the most basic and obvious characters, and no houses or places at all. Either the app doesn’t work or the free version is pointless. Either way, there are WAY better free apps out there that do everything they promise.

### 1/5 — Sad publishers trying to make it in a digital world

*2023-03-17, version 3.4*

The old guard publishers want to bleed more money from you using the same model as before. They are just reselling you highlights of the same books.

### 1/5 — Literally cannot view anything unless you immediately pay $8

*2022-10-31, version 3.4*

This app has no features in the free version of it. Downloaded it just to find everything locked behind a pay wall.

### 1/5 — Utterly lacking support

*2022-09-03, version 3.4*

Fantastic reference for the books. However there is endless content that could be put into this app and it’s rarely updated. It’s been 3 years since the last time content was added! Also the map zoom it’s super glitchy.

Better off with the wiki of ice and fire online at this point.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Must own for GOT enthusiasts

*2025-03-13*

I have used this app for years. I purchased all of the add-on content which I found to be well worth the cost. Martin’s world is so dense, this app is an invaluable resource for deeply exploring, understanding, and just keeping everything straight. I even use it for reference while reading Martin’s other works, such as A History of Westeros. There’s so many great features like the interactive maps and character journeys which serve as a phenomenal companion while reading the books. I wish there was an app like this for other fantasy worlds, particularly Tolkien’s. For those who love the books and the lore, this app is a must have.

### 5/5 — MAPSSSS!

*2024-08-12, version 3.4*

Love the app. For us map nerdz, it is worth the price of admission just for the maps. Now give us some Sothoryos (I know, he said that isn’t happening)

### 5/5 — Update on my original review

*2023-05-02, version 3.4*

AWESOME! Now that I’ve learned how to navigate through this app! I take back my repulsive original review! I was wrong… I absolutely LOVE this App!

### 5/5 — Absolutely essential companion to the books

*2022-10-23, version 3.4*

If you’re looking to delve deep into the lore, you need this app. Simple as that.

### 5/5 — Must have for all Readers

*2022-09-17*

Martin is a complex author, and his world is populated by a wide array of characters. This app allows readers to plug in the name of any given character and learn much about their past, who they’ve interacted with and more…

I can recall being 2 sentences into a Cercei chapter when she mentions Lollys Stokeworth… after checking the app I became familiar with Lollys (who I thought based on the name was a knight not a lady) and how she fits into the story. I spent the next hour falling down a rabbit hole, as I clicked on other characters and places in her description, that lead me to more characters and more events.

The app allows readers to finally understand the story, lost in an ocean of Names , places and histories of Westeros.

### 5/5 — Awesome but

*2022-08-13, version 3.4*

Please add House of Dragons and Fire and Blood to this app! It would make it an awesome way to follow the upcoming show and compare it to the books… thank you

### 5/5 — This app is a fantastic guide to help while reading though the books!

*2021-04-26, version 3.4*

We all know how complicated this series is. About half way through the 3rd book I realised I needed to start taking notes but discovered this app instead and it was amazing! Travis every story, family member and journey every character has takes. Even has censors for spoilers which if it wasn’t for I wouldn’t have got this app. Don’t have a single complaint. I do wish more characters had artwork for their profiles but it’s fine. I often come back to it just to look around, so much to explore and discover.

### 5/5 — Perfect for new and veteran ASOIAF books

*2021-04-22, version 3.4*

Has great information for when you want to reference locations or who characters are that you might not remember to well. Definitely worth it.

### 5/5 — Perfect for fans of the books

*2020-11-21*

I looked everywhere for quality maps of the worlds described and never anything on the internet. The maps are amazing here allowing to zoom in and read on the specific towns or landmarks. Changed my reading experience completely for the better having access to good maps, and the characters and places sections are just a great bonus. I end up reading on this app as much as the books themselves. Easily worth the 5 bucks.

### 5/5 — 4.5

*2020-08-06, version 3.4*

Would be nice to have DOB/DOD for characters
