## What is A1 RaceNav?

A1 RaceNav is the official rider app for endurance racing events supported by A1 Events. Join your event with an invite code, see your live position on the race map, and stay safe with one-tap SOS that lets race control and rescue teams locate you instantly.

Rescue Map mode provides a simple emergency-focused map when navigation is disabled. SOS now shows clearer sending, queued and active states, works more reliably after reconnecting, and can also open an SMS to race control when the event provides a phone number.

  LANGUAGES
  The app is now available in English, Romanian, German, French, Italian, and Portuguese. It automatically matches your phone's language on first launch, and you can change it anytime from Settings.

  CLEARER MAP SYMBOLS
  - Start and finish gates now show proper markers (a green arrow for start, a checkered flag for finish) instead of a generic dot.
  - The paddock/parking area is marked with its own recognizable parking sign.
  - Rescue points and checkpoints keep their distinctive red-cross and "CP" symbols.

  SPEED LIMITS ON THE MAP
  Speed-limited sections of the route are now clearly marked with road-sign style indicators showing the limit in km/h, plus a sign where the limit ends. The limited section itself is highlighted along the route.

  SAFER, SIMPLER NAVIGATION
  - Tapping a waypoint now shows its details first; a second tap confirms you want to start navigation to it, preventing accidental
  route changes.
  - Checkpoints are no longer shown during normal riding, only during an active SOS/rescue view, keeping the everyday map cleaner and more focused on what matters while you ride.
  - Go-home escape routes are shown as subtle dashed lines during normal riding, so they're there if you need them without cluttering the main route.

  RELIABILITY & STABILITY
  - Fixed an issue where map markers could occasionally disappear or flicker when zooming or panning.
  - Fixed a rare crash that could occur while zooming and panning in SOS/rescue mode.
  - Fixed update notifications so they now appear reliably and only when a real update is available for your device.
  - Fixed an issue where a rider's own race line could briefly disappear from the map after checking in.
  - Various under-the-hood fixes to tracking, GPS accuracy handling, and background updates.

This release is all about reliability when it matters most.
  
  • Emergency SOS: an alert triggered in a no-signal area now sends automatically as soon as your connection
  returns — including while the app is in the background — so it still gets through.
  • GPS tracking is steadier, including on low battery, so race control can always find you on the course.
  • More accurate navigation on point-to-point trails, and the map no longer blanks on certain routes.
  • More reliable offline-map download, smoother movement between screens, and a range of stability fixes.
