## What is A2 Contracts?

A2 Contracts is the jobsite app for small general contractors and remodelers, with the full project management behind it.

On the jobsite
Take photos and videos straight into the project, Live Photos included, and they upload in the background, even from the share sheet and into the right album. Open plan sheets with pinch-to-zoom and swipe between sheets, keep whole plan sets on the phone for places without a signal, and mark up plans and photos with pens, arrows, shapes, text, counts and pins on shared layers. View 3D scans and IFC models from Polycam and other scanners. Put out daily, weekly and monthly reports that pull in the photos and progress of the period, and follow permits and inspections, with a notification when one is scheduled.

Running the project
Build estimates by division and line item with allowances, and keep pending and approved change orders apart from the base scope. See a live budget of what is committed, paid and still open. Plan the work on a schedule with dependencies and baselines. Generate payment applications, with a schedule of values and line detail, from your real line items, and send them to the client to pay online. Get change orders signed electronically by your client, and certify pay apps with your own signature. Send each subcontractor a bid page with the plans, track payments received, and manage subcontracts and lien releases. Connect QuickBooks Online to reconcile project costs and Dropbox to keep plan sets in sync.

Made for the field
What you have opened stays available offline. Sign in once per device, then get back in with Face ID; the app can lock itself after a timeout on shared devices. Notifications can be marked read or snoozed right from your Apple Watch.

Accounts are created by your company administrator; there is no public sign-up.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9.6 — 2026-10-29

3D takeoff: see a sheet's takeoff in 3D, right from the plan:

- Tap 3D on a plan sheet to turn its takeoff into a 3D model you can turn, tilt, pinch to zoom and measure
- Concrete, rebar with its bends and hooks, steel channels, fasteners and wire mesh, with existing work shown but not counted
- Groups, saved views, X-ray, and a takeoff report as a PDF or Excel file
- Export the model for other 3D and BIM software, save a PDF of the view, or share a read-only link
- Plans: a Plan review tab with each discipline's county review, and markups that snap when you resize them
- Bid pages show plan markups, subcontractors can have several representatives, and new reports for open bid requests and lien releases
- Digital seals on plan sheets, a clearer signing flow, and many fixes

### 1.8.0 — 2026-10-26

New reports, change orders sent with your pay apps, and a full-screen signing pad:

- New reports: unpaid invoices across your projects, and updated profit reporting
- Send change orders along with a pay app, and let clients download them from the online invoice
- Online payment links on every pay app
- Signing on your phone: a full-screen pad that turns sideways, with just Sign or Cancel
- Plans: see an engineer's digital seal on a sheet, make an older version the latest, and rename layers from their menu
- A General Liability certificate that also lists Workers' Comp counts for both
- Miami-Dade permit import, QuickBooks client linking, and many fixes

### 1.7.1 — 2026-10-23

Where the contract stands today, bid coverage, a Feed of every report, and plans that keep their zoom:

- Today in Pay Apps: where the contract stands now, for you and your client, with change orders since the last pay app, every payment, and the draft's work as one preliminary total
- Bids: a coverage check for every line that needs a bid, lines marked Not included, record a quote from anywhere with its files, and the sub's scope notes on your proposal
- Plans: zoom stays put while you mark up, press and drag to place a marker exactly, markups always land on the layer marked Drawing here, and the sheet you had open comes back when you return to the app
- A Feed of every report with a calendar, lien releases to sign in one place, project cover photos, and sharing a project's link from a person's avatar
- Every signature first shows the document with your spot highlighted; shared plan sets open in the plan viewer; shared albums can allow downloads
- Send to QuickBooks is one list; swap a matched cost, record refunds, and link a payment straight to its pay app
- Clients never see your costs before markup
- Fixed: after opening a PDF and turning the phone, the app no longer shrinks to a third of the screen

### 1.6.6 — 2026-10-19

Sign on your phone, online invoices, and know what's paid:

- Sign on your phone: signing on the computer, send the signature pad to this app, draw with your finger after Face ID, and the signature appears on the computer
- Signing in person: hand the phone to your client or sub to sign, with you as the witness; type your name above every signature
- Lien releases: request a sub's signed release for a payment, sign progress and final releases to your client, and see what is still missing on Home
- Online invoices your client can view and pay, sent from your own mailbox with the signed release attached
- Pay apps say Paid, Partly paid, Unpaid or Overdue; mark one paid by hand, or link a payment to its pay app after the fact
- Simple invoices instead of the pay application for projects that need them
- Self-performed work billed and sent to QuickBooks; search, filter and totals in the QuickBooks and Transactions tabs
- A bigger signature pad that works sideways, smoother lines, and Apple Pencil pressure
- Signed documents can be verified online; the profit chart zooms; settings are switches

### 1.6.0 — 2026-10-17

Contracts signed without paper, and more:

- E-signatures: change orders signed by you and your client, pay app certifications signed by you, each signed copy sealed and time-stamped
- Pay apps your client can pay online
- A bid page for each subcontractor with the plans, photos and bid form, and reworked quote requests
- QuickBooks invoices and bills made from the app, and a billing forecast
- Report notes with bullets, and reports sent to people invited onto a project
- A notification swiped away is cleared in the app too
- Photo uploads that keep going when you come back to the app, and many fixes for slow or dropped connections
