Once I press search the screen that drops down below the search engine remains blank. Also, when the screen is vertical the menu options, search engine, and chapters overlap. **Developer response:** Please try searching for smaller phrases. If there are any mismatched characters or words, the results will not match what is entered into the search bar. ### 2/5 — Good but.... *2018-04-01* The two features that made me purchase this app don’t work. 1. Highlighting is lost when you close the app. 2. The notes you add eventually get covered up by the keyboard when typing and you can’t scroll down to see what you’re typing. Frustrating. Also, there doesn’t seem to be a way to remove bookmarks. **Developer response:** We have updated the app to fix both of these issues and allow editing of bookmarks. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Missing stories *2026-01-17* Advertised personal stories from 1st and 2nd additions. That is incorrect. The whole reason why I purchased the app. Disappointed! **Developer response:** The AA Big Book App does in fact include all stories from the first and second editions. Please check toward the bottom of the chapter list. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2022-11-04* I used to be able to read it, but with the new update it is absolutely useless. ### 1/5 — Updating pages *2022-10-22* I purchased this because I needed a big book I can pull up and read where I left off, turns out you can’t even use it. I don’t recommend anyone to use this app, it just perpetually “updates” the pages **Developer response:** An update is available that fixes this issue ### 1/5 — Save your dollar *2020-11-02* I can only see page one of the forward. My search bar works intermittently, but generally it I get a blank menu. After one search I can’t delete the words to search another time without closing the app. And it’s the second edition. I want my dollar back lol I tried deleting and reinstalling as recommended and I’m still having the exact same issues. When I attempt to delete text from the search bar, I get a menu pop up for changing modes and font size. Next suggestion please? **Developer response:** We apologize for the inconvenience. I have no access to the chapters or the search engine. Just wasted .99 **Developer response:** It sounds like there was a installation issue when you purchased the app. Please try deleting the app and redownload it from the App Store. Additional downloads are free so you will not be charged again. If you have any additional issues or it continues, please contact us at aabigbookapp@gmail.com ### 1/5 — Second Edition *2019-09-25* Truth in advertising evidently does not apply to this app. This is the second edition; currently the fourth edition is in print. Not helpful if you’re using this at a current meeting. **Developer response:** The App Store description does say that the stories are from the 1st & 2nd edition. The main 164 pages of the main text are the same as the 4th edition and all other apps on the App Store. No app on the App Store can legally include the 4th edition stories. Unfortunately, because of copyright restrictions, these are the only stories that can be used. ### 1/5 — Not very helpful *2018-11-13* Changed my review, again... Developers, why would you only apply page numbers to the first 164 pages? This makes no sense if I want to reference something beyond the first 164. Lame app, I’d recommend something else not so poorly thought out. **Developer response:** The pages numbers for the first 164 pages are the only pages that match the printed copy of the Big Book from each of the four editions that have been released. The page numbers for the stories and everything past the first 164 pages have changed along with many stories being removed when a new edition was released. This changes the page numbering with every release of a new edition. I was pushing bookmarks instead of chapters! I love this app! It’s user friendly and you can bookmark pages and record notes. We have included the main 164 pages of the program, all of the stories from the 1st and 2nd editions and any other usable text from the big book.
