### 2/5 — Needs work

*2026-04-27, version 1.22.1*

Constantly having issues with subscription verification.

### 2/5 — Tired of this not working

*2024-05-25*

Twice in the past week the app has told me I need to subscribe, when I have already subscribed. The first time it did this I emailed Grapevine and after a couple of days they got back to me—by then it was working again after I had uninstalled it then reinstalled it. Now it’s doing it again and I’m done. I don’t feel like having to uninstall and reinstall again and again and again. This app is a good idea but I’m not paying anymore for it and will be deleting it. Please work out the bugs already!

**Developer response:** Hello,
We are so sorry to hear about this. Have you tried again? We have been working on this issue. You should not have to uninstall and reinstall; please try the "restore subscription" button. Please let us know.

### 3/5 — I love this app! But technical challenges

*2023-12-19*

This app is awesome. I love the idea of having all this material, in my pocket, 24x7. And the audio is great too! No more multiple apps of tracking sober time, listening to stories, reading Grapevine, etc.

I am having some challenges tho. I subscribed through the App Store. It’s never really unlocked all the features. It tells me I need to subscribe. If I try to subscribe again, it tells me I’m already subscribed, and to use “Restore Subscription”. When I do that, sometimes it seems happy, then sometimes it gives me a “data not available” message. In either event, I can’t get the pay-for features. Never have gotten them. Please please fix this! This could be the app I live in once all the features are available to me!

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2023-12-10*

I am disappointed I can no longer download the full issue like before on EPub. The pics of meeting places isn’t available in the app. Also don’t like how when listening to the article playlist, if I don’t get through the entire issue I have to start from the beginning again if I want it to go automatically to the next article. I won’t be renewing and have returned to the print version.

### 2/5 — Poor substitute for the old pdf versions

*2023-11-11*

The app takes away the ability to read the magazine on an e-ink device like the paperwhite or glowlight.
It doesn’t appear to be much more than a glorified interface to the web page itself. I think most of us could have gone to the website, and, using a variety of services (nativenotify, webintoapp, etc.), created a similar app in a minute or two flat.
And maybe the worst part of it: no native sizing for tablets. Meaning the website, and likely the app you create yourself at one of the above, actually looks much better on a tablet.

Sadly, the introduction of this app is what prompted me to cancel my grapevine subscription.

### 3/5 — Can’t change password

*2023-09-26*

There doesn’t appear to be a way to change my password on the app. I hope that gets corrected.

### 3/5 — You need an iPad version!

*2023-09-19*

Great for the iPhone, I gave it 3/5 for lack of an iPad app

### 1/5 — Subscribing does not work

*2023-09-06*

I was invited to subscripe. I told the app I wanted to subscribe for $2.99 per month. The App Store charged me and shows that I have indeed subscribed. The trouble is, there was no opportunity to specify a user id or email or password when I subscribed. Now, when I try to read an article I am told to log in. But I have no idea what credentials to use when logging in. My user id and password for the App Store do not work.

### 1/5 — Can’t get subscription to work

*2023-09-01*

I downloaded the app and tried to subscribe; it charged my account, but still says I’m not subscribed. Tried logging in using the e-mail that is attached to the app store, that I got a receipt sent to, and it still says I’m not subscribed. Tried to subscribe a different time while logged in and it says I’m already subscribed, but still won’t let me access the archive

### 1/5 — No native ipad version

*2025-04-28*

I’m legally blind but can read with an iPad if I can enlarge print or zoom in. On an iPad this app takes up the space on the screen in landscape the size of a phone so it is not friendly for the visually impaired. Also the price of a digital subscription is nuts considering the lack of polish and features on the app. I pay less for amazing apps that do a lot more. What really kills it for me is the lack of native iPad version.

### 1/5 — Do Not Waist Your Money

*2025-01-28*

For the past 5 years I have had to write the customer service, which by the way are excellent to reset my password. Service will work for a couple weeks but then, nothing. Keep getting messages wrong credentials. Write again, reset another 2 weeks, same thing. This has happened several times. They tell me to use a certain browser , which I do and clear my cache, which I do. I will not be renewing again.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2024-12-05*

This is the most buggy app I have ever used. It’s hard being a grapevine rep in a group and recommending this app. Constantly says I’m not subscribed (which I am) then I hit subscribe and it says I’m already subscribed. The restore option never works. FIX THIS APP!

**Developer response:** I am so sorry to hear you are having this issue. What happens when you hit the account icon in the upper left? Does it not allow you to simply sign in? And finally, have you reached out to Customer Service about this?

### 1/5 — Cannot Access Current Grapevine

*2024-11-16*

I purchased this app last month in lieu of a print version. I’m very disappointed in this app. When you click on read current issue all that comes up is a picture of the cover and nothing. Very disappointed.
I will be requesting a full refund.

**Developer response:** Hello, I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue! Might it be that you are not logged in? When you are looking at the cover, click "home" on the lower left. Then click the icon in upper left to make sure you are logged in.
Let me know if this helps! If you are already logged in, you will see the article playlist below the cover; just scroll down.

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2024-09-10, version 1.9.0*

I downloaded the app and paid for my subscription. I couldn’t access my account and emailed customer service 3 times and never received a response.

### 1/5 — Tech trouble

*2024-02-29, version 1.4.1*

I’m having the same issue as other reviewers. I have a receipt from Apple confirming my subscription but I can’t sign in. I’ve contacted aagrapevine customer service to no avail.
It’s an aggravation. I regret subscribing.

### 1/5 — Grapevine AA App

*2024-01-07*

Last week I tried to subscribe to the Grapevine App. I had the same issue of trying to subscribe but the same Techy problems as a previous reviewer.
My husband tried to help me as well. We subscribed alright but could not get into anything.
We ended up canceling subscription but sad about it!

**Developer response:** Hello,
Have you tried again? I am wondering if you every tried calling Customer Service.

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2024-01-01, version 1.1.0*

I’ve purchased 2 subscriptions and been charged twice and still can’t use the app.

### 1/5 — Subscription issues

*2023-11-10*

Paid for app/subscription through apple account. Never received information on how to sign in, despite having called customer support (was told information would be sent via email). Waited a week + then sent email to customer support. Two days later received reply basically gaslighting me be questioning whether I used the same email to subscribe. Sent affirmative response and a copy of recipient from apple. Never heard back.
Have had a subscription to regular Grapevine magazine, always felt like it was a good tool and pass issues on. My eyesight is getting worse as I get older, so I thought I could get it on app and read it easier.
Very disappointed with app and poor customer service.
Luckily was able to file issue with apple and get my money back.

### 1/5 — App support is lacking, archive search is missing terms

*2023-09-11*

App support has no way to report app bugs. Search terms for the archive are missing in the app making it impossible to search by category like “Humor” as the web version of the archive has 2 “humor” categories that you need to choose to get a full listing of results. The app only has one, and the one with only 5% of the most recent results and missing 95% of the historical articles. It makes the app archive search useless. Would report this elsewhere if there was a way to do so but unfortunately there isn’t.

**Developer response:** Hello,
We are sorry to hear this, and sorry too to take so long to get back to you! This issue has been resolved.

*** Update ***
The subscription sync started working. I’m gonna change this to 5 Stars as that was my only issue.

Great app. Having all this experience, strength, and hope in my pocket. Awesome!!

### 5/5 — Outstanding!

*2023-09-05*

This App has everything I was hoping for and more. I LOVE that the audio articles are now a simple playlist, and that the Podcast is so easily accessible. This subscription has all of the benefits of the former digital subscription: access to archives since 1944, sobriety calculator, past issues, and more. Well done!

### 5/5 — Another tool

*2023-09-02*

I’ve been excited to try this app out and I’m not disappointed. It’s giving me yet another tool in my toolbox.

### 5/5 — next level morning routine

*2023-09-02*

find & read the story referenced in the daily quote. refreshingly diverse & sobriety saving experiences.

really mind bending to have so much wisdom and aa history at our fingertips.

when alone or isolated, the words shared within the pages have kept me connected to the fellowship so many times in my recovery. forever grateful for the “meeting in print” 🙏

### 5/5 — Great app

*2023-09-01*

This app is fantastic! I can get everything I love about the magazine in a mobile app!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your feedback! This is wonderful to hear.

### 3/5 — Wonderful App - but iPad version needed

*2025-04-17*

I love the Grapevine app. It’s come a long way. The digital magazine looks great on iPhone, however a native iPad version is needed. That’s where I was hoping to utilize the app. I was disappointed to find that only the iPhone app was available.
