### 3/5 — No offline use

*2025-07-22, version 4.0.9*

I enjoy the content this app delivers and appreciate the ability to earn CME in one convenient location. However, I don’t understand why internet access is required to log in. I was traveling recently and had downloaded PDFs of a few issues into the app in anticipation of being out of service/wifi access, but could not access them because the app logs me out frequently and I could not log in without service. Why allow PDF downloads at all if that’s the case.

### 2/5 — Purchased CME not available

*2023-07-02, version 4.0.6*

Purchased CME material from the AAFP website is not available on the app.
Inconvenient to have to return to my computer whenever I want to work through part of my 17 hour course.

### 2/5 — Not stable

*2023-02-25, version 4.0.4*

Close to being relevant. Not stable enough to use. Trying to do board review and it’ll freeze up out of nowhere, ditto trying to load articles. Needs to be tweaked.

### 3/5 — Signing in

*2022-11-03, version 4.0.1*

The app and its content is great. However having to re sign in every single time is a big pain. There is no ‘memory’ for the username or password or face recognition which means I’m typing everything out each time. Very very very frustrating and time wasting.
Please fix!

### 3/5 — Technical problems

*2022-10-27, version 4.0.1*

This App used to be great, but it’s been having technical glitches for days that first wouldn’t let me sign in, and now keeps automatically closing the app every time I try to access Board review questions.

### 2/5 — Unreliable

*2022-07-20, version 4.0.1*

Currently not working well. I no access to the journals

### 3/5 — Search feature

*2022-04-28, version 3.2.1*

App has a lot of strengths as a central hub for all things family medicine. However, maybe it’s my lack of tech skills but there is no obvious way to search for a specific topic in the journal section

### 2/5 — No option to do Journal quiz CME

*2022-02-06, version 3.1.2*

I like the old app, I used to use it all the time to do my CME for AAFP journal quiz. With this new app it is not possible at all. I call and spoke with AAFP about it but they have no answer if I am able to do it or not.
I try myself to figure out but no luck.
That’s why I don’t use this new app.

### 3/5 — Not user friendly

*2022-01-29, version 3.1.2*

The iPad version doesn’t load bookmarks and the apps do not sync between iPhone and iPad. I’ve redownloaded everything and had to go through bookmarking programs again. Useful for the info but not great for accomplishing tasks.

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2021-12-12, version 3.1.1*

I do not understand where the positive reviews come from. The app and the website have been a big disappointment, bugs and errors all over. Please invest more in web and app development with our dues.

### 4/5 — Missing subscription

*2021-12-05, version 3.1.1*

I love the app when it works especially the iPad version of the FP Essentials monographs. However, twice in the past year, my subscriptions have gone missing from the system and I was unable to view or download issues. I had to call the helpdesk and have it reset twice.

### 4/5 — CME

*2021-11-26, version 3.1.1*

Please return easy access to CME questions for AFP journal to the app

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t log in to take quizzes

*2026-02-16, version 4.2.2*

Infinite login loop

### 1/5 — Sign-in loop for quizzes

*2026-02-02, version 4.2.2*

I use this app almost entirely for the practice questions. There’s no way for me to complete this because of the “sign in loop“ that never ends. Please realize that this is an important feature of the app for your customers and fix this bug.

### 1/5 — Can’t sign in

*2026-01-21, version 4.2.2*

AAFP journal is great, but unfortunately I can’t have access to the content in the app because the sign in process just keeps loading and never finishes. I can access it without problems on the website.

### 1/5 — Board Review Access

*2025-11-12, version 4.1.0*

I already logged in once. When i try to access the board review questions which are free, it asks me to log in again.

This is a known issue since last many years if i recall. I have no idea what the issue is!!

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2025-07-23, version 4.0.9*

App crashes every time I try to login. I’m a student and have a login online but I can’t on the phone. Even when “logged in” I try to access the board questions and it asks me to login again, but crashes every time I click the link.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2022-10-06, version 4.0.1*

### 1/5 — Miss old website

*2022-03-06, version 3.2.0*

This website update is bad. Nothing is easy to find.

### 1/5 — Unable to login

*2022-01-25, version 3.1.2*

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Please Fix. Can’t log in

*2024-12-10, version 4.0.9*

Unable to log in and access app

### 5/5 — Great app, could use a few important bug fixes

*2023-02-18, version 4.0.4*

Excellent app. Easy to use for the most part. Access to all AAFP content.

I have a couple of suggestions:
1) not logging me out every time I change apps or open the app for the first time. I was trying to use the app offline while I was on an airplane and it kept logging me out whenever I switched apps. Of course you cannot log in again without the internet connection so despite having downloaded several articles I wanted to read on the flight I was unable to access them. Would request that the app stay logged in once you are logged in to it instead of having to log in every time you open the app or switch from another app. 2) app remembering where you were last. When I exited the app and went back into it it went back to the Home Screen instead of the page of the AFP article I had been reading.

Currently using iOS 16.2 on an IPhone 11 Pro. App version (latest) - just updated last week.

### 5/5 — Never imagined it could be this good

*2023-02-04, version 4.0.2*

Someone made a huge investment to improve this app. For the past 6 months I’ve been using this app to download and read the AFP journal and take quizzes and keep track of CME and forward my CME transcript to various boards. Smooth, fast, and no hiccups - over cellular or WiFi… this software is so solid I have no reason to go on to the AAFP website. Great work AAFP!

### 5/5 — A most for every Family Physician!

*2022-10-23, version 4.0.1*

Outstanding application, should be in every mobile phone of all Family Physicians.

### 5/5 — Welcome Update

*2021-12-16, version 3.1.1*

As a long time AAFP member, I can recall the time when we did not have the convenience of carrying years worth of issues of AFP on our pockets! This has always been a great way to access a fantastic journal. In my opinion, it’s even better now that a recent update allows use in BOTH portrait and landscape orientation. I happen to read AFP many times with my iPad attached to my keyboard, which is forced into a landscape orientation due to it’s design. Up until recently, it was difficult to read articles because the app on the iPad only rendered in portrait orientation. Kudos to the app design team for fixing this!

### 5/5 — Pod cast review

*2021-11-14, version 3.1.1*

Enjoyed listening to the podcast is a traveled and saw the updated me on things this is good the people there present present concise information is good information and that we will use and practice Paul Rachal listener a New Roads Louisiana

### 5/5 — Needs improvement —> Fixed

*2020-09-24, version 3.0.4*

I had complaints. They have been fixed. This apps works for what I need it for.

### 5/5 — Just updated-love it!

*2020-08-17*

As a medical student applying to FM residency this fall, I’ve really enjoyed the app content: the ability to search for programs, match guide and ‘interview questions’ are awesome!

I personally feel the app layout is pleasant and intuitive to use; I’ve never had problems with glitches or lack of access. Thanks AAFP

### 4/5 — Great App, Bug Fixes Needed

*2023-10-23, version 4.0.7*

Love having all AAFP resources (journals, podcasts, etc) in one place! I think there are some quality of life and content improvements that could be made to bring this app to the next level

Content:
1) Including Annals of Family Medicine and Robert Graham Center publications on the app
2) Fellowship Finder: AAFP already has this on their website, would be a great addition to the app.

Quality of Life
1) Like another reviewer stated, it’d be really nice if the app would remember my login information and didn’t redirect me every time I logged in
2) Residency Finder Search Tool: Frequently returns that there are no residencies matching the requested criteria when the AAFP’s online search tool will return programs. It would also be great to multi select program based on program type and community setting.
3) Residency Finder Content: Would be great if the residency finder could include wage/pay on the benefits page.

### 4/5 — Needs to improve on android

*2022-01-22, version 3.1.2*

App works well on the Ipad but not on android phones
