### 3/5 — Latency is an issue

*2020-11-19*

I just bought this, tried it for hand drumming on a 1st gen IPad Pro, and there’s very significant latency. I haven’t tried it yet as an effect, hopefully that won’t have any latency problems.

### 4/5 — Simple, efficient, fun as a plug-in effect too

*2019-05-31*

Makes a simple slap, tap or finger click into any number of percussive instruments. Have been using it with Multitrack DAW app as a plug-in, then adding some reverb or shimmer.

I thought I’d try it just for a bit of fun but I’ve realised that it’s way more useful to generate a variety of instruments. I have several AAS VST plug-ins that I use with Ableton so this fits right in.

### 3/5 — Great idea but a bit low in volume

*2018-05-04*

Triggering from a drum pad into my iPad but the volume in this app is too low

### 4/5 — Good, but...

*2018-04-13*

I like the sound, but can’t figure out how to send it pitch or cc values. That would make it great

### 5/5 — AAS juste genial!

*2018-04-04, version 1.0*

A installer direct ,super son tres simple, puissance du son et intuitif.

### 4/5 — Otway & Barrett

*2018-03-31*

Works well.

### 5/5 — AAS Yaaaas!

*2018-03-30*

I'm unbelievably excited to see an iPad offering from Applied Acoustic Systems. I've been using their desktop products for almost 10 years and they continue to be among my favorite developers around.
Objeq appears to incorporate some of the technology behind Chromaphone, their resonant/pm synth - my favorite product of theirs. It produces a wide variety of percussive sounds/forms and implements them in an intuitive and inspiring mobile format.
I am so pleased by the AU insert functionality - the stuff of my dreams.
Hoping to see more from these fine folks. Cheers AAS!

### 3/5 — Loads of fun & potential

*2018-03-30*

Just downloaded this Objeq from AAS for £4 ... it's essentially a resonator, works nicely in AUM as an AUv3 effect with Axon 2 providing the beats and KOSM providing ambience. Very simple but effective & lots of fun when playing it manually. Gives Axon more life and realism. Have not tried it in hand drumming mode with the mic yet.

AAS are renown for their physical modelling, but it’s a shame there's no modulation of the parameters or any Midi control. Perhaps they will retro-fit these soon?

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. We duly note your suggestions, but we don’t
comment on our development plans.

### 5/5 — Bienvenue sur iOS, AAS !

*2018-03-28, version 1.0*

Hâte d’entendre la suite… 😀

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No longer functions as a plugin instrument in any host

*2024-06-08*

Doesn’t appear in AUM or Cubasis or anything

### 1/5 — Futile app

*2024-03-06*

When used alone without any auxiliary connection, there's excessive static noise. However, when speakers are connected, the microphone is automatically disabled, rendering it useless.

### 1/5 — No AU in Cubasis or Garageband

*2018-04-21*

After installing and trying the standalone app, I was excited to record a track into Cubasis. Since the description of the app specifically said it works with Cubasis as an AU, I thought this was a no brainer. Go into Cubasis, try to add the AU...and it’s not in the AU list. So, let’s try GarageBand. Go to External...add Audio Unit extensions...no Objeq in that AU list either. So AAS while I love you...it looks like you messed up on the AU implementation. Also, I’ve tried adding as an audio effecct in both Cubasis and Garage Band. It doesn’t show up under Insert Effect in Cubasis or under Plugins & EQ in Garage Band.

**Developer response:** Thank you for checking out Objeq. Objeq is an audio effet, not an
instrument. As such, it must be added in the "Insert Effects" section
of a track in Cubasis, and in the "Plug-ins & EQ" section of a track
in GarageBand.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2018-03-31*

The delay between hitting a surface and hearing the sound is so long it renders this completely useless as any kind of rhythmic instrument. It also picks up so much background noise which is then also reverberated so it produces nowhere near the same kind of clean sounds the demo video suggests. I would like a refund.

**Developer response:** Thank you for checking out Objeq. The Objeq app use your device’s
microphone to capture the sound. You would ideally need to be in a
quiet environment when you play with it. Else you will indeed get a
pile of noise. About the delay, it’s usually cause by Bluetooth
headphones. We recommend using wired headphones as the delay is
inexistent.

### 1/5 — USELESS

*2018-03-30*

this app does not have a click or tempo setting and does not allow you to record and bounce your performance... i want my money back

**Developer response:** Thank you for checking out Objeq. Objeq is an audio effect. The
functionalities you’re describing are provided by most DAW apps
(GarageBand, Cubasis 2, Auria Pro, etc.). You can use Objeq as an
effect plug-in (AUv3) in those apps.

### 2/5 — Great Idea

*2018-11-12*

Great Idea!
But its not working on Audiobus3

### 2/5 — Latency

*2018-04-14*

Running a new iPad Pro, even with a restart, no WiFi, bluetooth or any other apps running, there is latency which essentially renders the app useless. If they fix that issue then it’ll be great though

### 2/5 — Completely inaccessible with VoiceOver

*2018-04-12*

I am a blind musician and audio engineer. Our use many iOS applications with quite a bit of success. However, objeq is completely inaccessible with voiceover. Nothing at all is spoken. The only way I can use it is the turn voiceover off, and just drag up and down at different portions of the screen, without really knowing what I am adjusting. I hope that this can be fixed.

**Developer response:** Thank you for writing and checking out Objeq. We duly note your
request but we can’t promise anything at this point.

### 2/5 — Bof

*2018-04-01, version 1.0*

L’idée est bonne, mais le résultat plutôt banal. On s’en lasse vite.

### 2/5 — Не видит как плагин в Garage Band

*2018-03-30, version 1.0*

Не видит

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Mac app or desktop version plsss🤓

*2024-11-15*

Still one of the best resonators out there!

### 5/5 — Genius

*2020-09-12*

Loved tassman 4 in 2003 now finally have similar resonant control on ios🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

### 5/5 — Simply Awesome

*2019-07-13*

Awesome app that sounds great and easy to navigate.
You can use it as an effect on an instrument you play to further modulate it’s sound; great with hand percussion, providing lots of sonic textures to explore.

### 5/5 — Really nice app for experiments

*2019-05-05, version 1.0*

Just add it in AUM or another host as AUv3 effect and enjoy with acoustic experiments when using drum machines or noise samples. Or use external input and play on your table. Like it!

### 5/5 — A brilliant effect, with some caveats

*2018-12-20*

First off I want to say that this is a brilliant idea.

Secondly I want to clarify what it is and what it isn’t. It is an audio effect, so it takes the audio coming in, and applies filters to it to make it resonate in cool ways.

What it isn’t: it isn’t a VSTi that generates sounds that are triggered by vibration.

There are some serious limitations. The main problem is feedback.

Because of the feedback problem you can not process live mic input AND listen to it on speakers at the same time. If you use live mic input then you MUST use headphones to listen. Or if you want to hear the output on speakers then you can not use a live mic as input.

### 5/5 — Excellent for drummers,percussionist.

*2018-06-28*

basically some physically modeled resonators modules. Bang on anything or using drumsticks, brushes, whatever. Best used in a audio unit compatible host like aum, cubasis cuz u can use other fx in realtime.

### 5/5 — Absolutely Fantastic

*2018-05-04*

I bought this and within 20 minutes I was finger drumming on my tabletop making the coolest sounds thru my iPads mic. After that, I used Audiobus with my own app GeoShred and some drum loops as a source to achieve awesome results! So great to see AAS enter the app space. The music fun on iOS just keeps getting better!
Anybody who loves making music needs an iPad (and this cool app!)

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2018-04-05*

Very fun app! I hope they add a way to combine some of the sounds. Being able to designate the right hand as a bass drum and a left hand as a snare would be sweet. Worth the money for sure!

### 5/5 — An instant purchase

*2018-04-05*

It’s really great to see Applied Acoustics Systems emerge in the iOS music audio app scene. I own every AAS Physically Modeled VST instrument, and they are all amazing works of art. I’m very excited to start experimenting with Objeq iOS in my current projects.

### 5/5 — Bel outil d’impro rythmique :)

*2018-04-04, version 1.0*

Utiliser un plugin et transformer les ibidules en instruments percussifs : voila une idée qu’elle est bonne :)
A expérimenter sans modération !
