### 2/5 — Help

*2026-05-29, version 1.1.0*

Absolutely the worst app ever. 3-4 times per day to shut phone off to change programs and 2-3 times per day deleting app and reinstalling. Will anything ever be done to fix, or is there another app I could try?

### 2/5 — IOS and iPadOs26

*2025-09-24, version 1.1.0*

App works on IOS and iPados 26 - same as before. So no issues.

But 3 important issues for me…(1)why is there still no Apple Watch interface. Because of an injury, I can’t press the buttons on the processor or HA side easily - so I have to use my iPhone all the time. Having access to the Watch would be 1-step simpler. (2) Why can’t I do some tone equalization on my cochlear side. Everybody is different and I could use some treble boost on that side. (3) Why is there no Active Noise Cancellation like with Apple Air Pods. On planes I have to actually resort to using AirPods to listen to overcome the plane noise-and then I can only do Mono Audio. I’d love to enable ANC on the system.

### 2/5 — Advanced Bionics battery info is PRIMITIVE

*2025-08-07, version 1.1.0*

The app reports battery charge as only 0, 50, 75 or 100%. The implant processor can stop working minutes after a 50% charge is reported. This app is barely functional.

### 2/5 — IOS and iPadOs26

*2025-06-26, version 1.1.0*

To the developers, what are your testing plans for the app to ensure compatibility with the upcoming ‘26’ releases.

### 2/5 — Primitive

*2025-04-28, version 1.1.0*

I mean it works but it feels outdated and very primitive compared to other hearing aid apps I’ve used. No EQ, only shows battery life for CI, not for compatible hearing aid. Bluetooth can be sketchy at times. I’d expect more for all the work they put into the Ci itself.

### 2/5 — Needs an overhaul

*2025-04-07, version 1.1.0*

Coming from the Phonak app to this is just disappointing, which caught me way off guard. Especially since AB and
Phonak are part of Sonova. The UI is painful to use - I can say as an engineer I could have built something better in a weekend.

For example to adjust the progressive level on my daughter’s CI requires me to go to device check? That makes no sense. Who decided to bury it in that menu?

Another, and by far the biggest, strike is that you can’t pair more than one device pair. My daughter has a CI and a HA, if we want to switch to her backup CI for swimming we have to unpair her CI and HA, pair the backup, switch it to swim mode (buried in another confusing menu, BTW). And when she’s done swimming we get to repeat the whole process again.

To be honest I didn’t want to write this review as the technology behind these devices is fantastic. But when your primary way of controlling a child’s device (obviously we have the buttons disabled) is the app then there’s a high level of expectation. Maybe it’s time to get the Phonak and AB iOS devs together for a workshop.

### 2/5 — Definitely needs development

*2025-03-22, version 1.1.0*

This app is quite frustrating because in terms of general use there is no way to control whether ambient sound overrides closer input or not. That feature is available only when using the Roger On microphone and really should be implemented in all possible modes. Additionally, it could really use bass and treble controls, features which are available in apps for other brands of cochlear implants. Thanks for listening.

### 2/5 — Issues

*2025-03-20, version 1.1.0*

My devices lose connection at least once per week. The only way I can reconnect is to delete and reinstall app. Needs improvement.

### 3/5 — Needs improvement

*2024-12-03, version 1.1.0*

The split volume not maintaining when changing sources or programs is frustrating. As mentioned in a prior review if you change programs or sources the system defaults to whatever side is higher. It would seem the way it works defeats having a split function at all. Someone at AB needs to get this fixed. It makes it seem like no one cares about functionality which I find hard to believe. Best

### 3/5 — Please add a sensitivity slider

*2024-08-18, version 1.1.0*

Next to the volume slider, please add a sensitivity slider. I had a sensitivity slide on my old processor 20+ years ago. AB went backwards with the Harmony when that control feature was removed. This is a great chance to bring it back and give us more control to individualize our hearing on the go, minute by minute. Sensitivity control is so much better for clarity than volume! Please add it!

### 2/5 — Works better since update - needs Apple Watch version

*2024-02-22, version 1.1.0*

It does the job but it would be much more convenient if you also offered an iWatch version too.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2024-02-03, version 1.1.0*

Hearing instrument specialist with a CI. Highly disappointed in this app compared to myPhoank app. This app is very limited and it doesn’t always connect to the app!!!! AB, you can do this better support your clients and app.

### 1/5 — Poorly developed application

*2024-01-13, version 1.1.0*

Many problems. Not “Apple Ready”. Has to reconnect every time the app is pulled forward and the reconnect process is very slow. If you open an another app that streams or receive a call, it resets the volume and doesn’t reset when the call is complete. If you have the app open, it times out and disconnects and there’s no way to stop it. If you use it with the Phonak TV streaming device it aggressively connects to the device anytime you are within range. Aggravating when you’re not the one watching TV. There’s no simple way to mute the streaming device while you’re watching TV.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2026-06-19, version 1.1.0*

This can’t be the official app for something I went through a tedious process for. I wish I had done research before choosing AB. There’s just no way this company makes the money they make and has an app this terrible. Connections suck, UI/UX is awful. I’m praying there’s an update because I can’t just wake up one day and choose another provider when there’s literally a device of theirs in my literal head.

### 1/5 — Please update the app

*2026-06-02, version 1.1.0*

It’s such a trivial thing, but it would be wonderful if the app would show the remaining battery percentage for bilateral implants.
It’s incredibly stupid that if one battery dies, the app won’t show the remaining battery percentage on the other side.

### 1/5 — Needs updated

*2026-04-22, version 1.1.0*

The app is very frustrating. It unpairs from my marvel and I have to go through the whole “find my device” song and dance. It doesn’t remember settings. It’s very frustrating because the apps for other, much cheaper devices are so much better.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth

*2025-12-13, version 1.1.0*

After iOS 26.1 the App Bluetooth disconnect from iPhone intermittently and I need to reboot the speech processor Marvel M90! When will AB update this app to be compatible with iOS 26.1?

### 1/5 — This app makes me hate my cochlear

*2025-10-22, version 1.1.0*

This app has soo little help im struggling with my cochlear to start let alone how everything sound like bubbles and the shocking pain it gives me im down with this being deaf is less frustrating than this app Jesus people

### 1/5 — No active development

*2025-09-19, version 1.1.0*

No active development, and no developers solicit feedback from the people who actually use this app

### 1/5 — Too many flaws

*2025-08-27, version 1.1.0*

Can you please, please, please fix the app so that it will show the remaining battery balance when the opposite side has run out?

You’ve had twelve years to fix this, what’s stopping you???

### 1/5 — Failed connection to devices frequently

*2025-04-07, version 1.1.0*

I have cochlear hearing aid combined. When either one is tuned off, then another one loses connection Bluetooth connection right away meanwhile both of them lose connection to the app. I have attempted resetting the devices and restarting my cell phone not working at all. The only way to reboot it is removing the app and reinstalling it .

### 1/5 — Too many flaws

*2024-12-13*

It’s brain-numbingly obvious that the developers of this app neither use it nor bother to observe actual users using it because it’s so badly designed.
Like just because I have two implants, if the battery on one side dies, WT everlasting F won’t you show me how much battery I have left on the other side?!?!?!?

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your experience using the App. Our Customer Experience department would like to provide you with additional information and support. Please email ABSuccess@advancedbionics.com at your earliest convenience.

### 1/5 — Hate this apt! Doesn’t work well at all on my Apple I

*2024-09-15, version 1.1.0*

Apple I-Phone! Wouldn’t even give it a one star! I have one COCHLEAR Implant and the Phonak compatible hearing aid! I spend hours trying it to get it stay connected! The volume just changes at odd times without me changing it! I have disconnected and reconnected this app multiple times! My audiologist is as disgusted with it as I am! It needs to be fixed! I have had my CI for over 10 years and this app needs to be rebuilt ASAP! Please fix it!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-11-11, version 1.1.0*

It gets the job done and it may disconnect time to time but it’s easy to reconnect this app is a 10 out of 10

### 5/5 — AB Remote

*2024-05-03, version 1.1.0*

You need update your app 3 times a year fix bugs and fix the cliches thanks.

### 5/5 — Eh

*2023-11-19, version 1.1.0*

Love the app but sometimes it just doesn’t want to go to off ear compatible

### 5/5 — It’s really nice!

*2022-07-15, version 1.0*

It’s a really good app, it’s really helpful

### 4/5 — Useful

*2026-04-14, version 1.1.0*

Great app, help me a lot with my cochlear implant. There are times some areas can be so loud. It is nice to turn the sound down just for a bit. Would like it if you could do an app for the Apple Watch.

### 4/5 — Crackling noises

*2023-12-21, version 1.1.0*

Need an update to fix the crackling noises I’ve been hearing when using my iPhone 15 pro. Just got this phone and never had this issue on my iPhone 10.

### 3/5 — Needs updating

*2026-04-13, version 1.1.0*

The app needs to be updated. It hasn’t been updated in over 3 years. One of the things that it needs is to be made compatible with i-phone hearing aid devices. My old hearing aid app did and it worked smoothly with few issues. I think this would address a lot of the disconnecting issues mentioned by others in their reviews.

### 3/5 — Bass and trebles

*2025-10-26, version 1.1.0*

It’s an ok app..but drawback is you can’t adjust the bass and treble as you can others.

### 3/5 — Bad bluetooth

*2025-05-01, version 1.1.0*

So hard to bluetooth connect. I am a tech savvy person and I tried everything using my native bluetooth and the app. What finally worked was to use my native Bluetooth to connect to R-instrument. Then back in the app it could slowly find the left and right CIs. But there’s no way to have known this as it gives you no instructions.

### 3/5 — Great but needs heavy improvements

*2025-03-04, version 1.1.0*

It’s great to use for watching videos or music. It isn’t that bad, but I do wish it’d save your volume preferences. The volume would be way too high and quite literally jumpscare me. I just circumvent it by playing music and set phone volume to 0 to adjust accordingly to a comfortable CI volume for bluetooth, but it really is a pain to have a default volume that’s too loud for myself and my brain, personally. The HUGE issue would be that it doesn’t keep the same setting for phone calls even after changing it. It jumps back to default volume (which would be so loud for myself) and if I try to change it, it just sits at ‘connecting’ and the slider would never show up. So phone calls are already rendered useless. It’s a great app but please add something to keep a preferred volume everytime I connect and do something about the phone calls.
