### 2/5 — NOT Accurate

*2025-04-19*

This app doesn’t match the AEA app. Not exactly sure why it doesn’t. Where does this app get its info????

Im more inclined to trust the AEA app.

UPDATE:
Also I just learned of a fire that isn’t even on this app! It started yesterday. People were being evacuated and this app showed NOTHING!

### 2/5 — Real time?

*2024-07-25*

Jasper Alberta is actually on fire and the app shows nothing. The reason I want an app is for real time updates. This one doesn’t work that well.

### 2/5 — Poor info

*2024-05-19*

Why does this app still have fires on it from 2023??

### 2/5 — Ok app

*2023-05-20*

Needs to
Be updated frequently to keep everyone informed better.

### 2/5 — Not update i for

*2023-05-07*

Limited updates to limited areas not reliable for the most recent Informario Used to be good no longer

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2023-05-05, version 1.10.0*

Very inefficient app during crucial times. Do better

### 1/5 — Stuck on loading screen

*2023-05-05, version 1.10.0*

Just when fires are starting to blow up in Alberta this app is now not working. It’s stuck on the loading screen. Tried deleting the app and reinstalling. Still same problem. Being this is a government of alberta app, can I blame Danielle Smith and the UCP ?

### 1/5 — App easily overloaded and stops working when actually needed

*2023-05-05, version 1.10.0*

App stops working when there’s actual fires and people need information. I’m assuming their systems are overloaded with people trying to access.. but they should be prepared for that. What is the purpose of a wildfire app that doesn’t function when there’s actual wildfires and people need information…

### 1/5 — Trash

*2023-05-05, version 1.10.0*

App doesn’t even work, shows no stats or reports, terrible especially given the current status of all the wildfires currently happening in AB and the current situation in Fox lake

### 2/5 — Not getting better…

*2023-05-05, version 1.10.0*

I’ve used this version and a previous version. I have to say that the previous was much better. It had more info and was quick. The new version seems to be limited and clunky. At times it won’t show where the fire bans are and other times it will. Not good for emergency preparedness. Best tighten this up soon…

### 2/5 — Alberta Government

*2023-05-05, version 1.10.0*

This App for Alberta Wildfires is absolutely terrible. Locations are hard to find with no way to store different locations. Also not easy to tell exact location of fires because of no real identifying information. Such as hiways or reference points. Government at its finest. Do better. Also it won’t warn you of any fires in your area.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless App-don’t be fooled

*2025-09-21*

AB gov, you can see the poor rating for this App; why aren’t you fixing it? Ppl want an app to show wildfires in real time; this may be ok for the researchers who study wildfires but useless for travellers & residents. AB gov, do better & offer an App like the BC Wildfire Service Mobile App!

### 1/5 — May 2025

*2025-05-30*

Not showing any wildfires??? There Evacuations occurring in northern Alberta all this week yet it shows no wildfires except two that are under control that are holding movers from 2020 in one case. Either fix it or take it off - unreliable.

### 1/5 — This app is a joke

*2024-07-28*

Go see how BC does the same thing but in a different league.

### 1/5 — Most useless App ever!

*2023-07-13*

What a waste to spend our tax dollars for such terrible designed useless App.

### 1/5 — wildfire updates weeks old

*2023-06-20*

Many of the wildfire on the map are outdated, many of the fires on the map show active but in reality the fires have been contained or are completely gone, yet app shows still active.

### 1/5 — Fix it i’m evacuated and it dosn’t show the fire

*2023-06-13, version 1.11.0*

DO WHAT THE TITLE SAYS OR ELSE I GIVE THIS A 0

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-06-10*

What a useless app. There’s a monster fire on my doorstep and the app doesn’t show it. Deleted!

### 1/5 — Alberta wildfire

*2023-05-16*

Worst app l have on my phone not worth the time to down load when you try to expand the map the towns are unreadable typical government work put it out in the private sector where it's done right the old fire appp that dosent work anymore was 100 times better

### 1/5 — app does not update wildfires

*2023-05-10*

i live in the northern part of alberta. we have 3 active out of control wildfires near us. all of which have not been updated in over 3 days. my father is working on the largest one. the wildfire that is twice as large as what is stated on the website. this is absolutely unacceptable. especially for a government website. keep us safe, UPDATE THE WILDFIRES.

### 1/5 — Bad no info

*2023-05-06*

This app is terrible no information on if person are being evacuated no when you try to zoom in because the writing is too small to see it just gets smaller no I could go on and on typically what you would expect from a government app

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2026-05-16*

This app has been helpful since I use it. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Way better then acgris

*2024-05-12*

Honestly most people complaining don’t get the fact that A: it’s based of the governments website and B: OF COURSE ITS NOT GONNA SHOW GRASS FIRES its literally called Alberta wildfire, anyways nice ui

### 5/5 — Useless

*2023-05-06*

Fix it

### 5/5 — Not good

*2023-05-05, version 1.10.0*

Info is not current. When needed most it will not load. Very disappointing when cbc news has more info.

### 5/5 — Very pleased

*2021-05-12*

The new app is a big improvement. Being able to turn on the fire hazard and fire bans is a real bonus. Most of the negative reviews are about spring grass fires that are outside of the forested part of the province and are the responsibility of municipalities, so if you understand that you will have little to dislike. Slick interface, only wished that the data could be in the cloud instead of loading to my phone, but that makes startup just a tiny bit slower.

### 4/5 — Filter by date

*2024-07-19*

Hey guys
I working in Alberta Wildfire
From experience of using this great app - we need options to filter fires by date.
I see you have data stored showing when fire was foun
Would be great to attach filter by date
Like today, this week, this month and so on
Thanks for your work it’s great app

Lookout observer

### 3/5 — Good app but…

*2024-05-16*

Only reports on specific areas of Alberta, (forest fires only?). So, no grass fires and no fires outside of Alberta borders that might be moving into Alberta.

A wildfire is an unplanned, unwanted fire burning in a natural area, such as a forest, grassland, or prairie.

If the app is only going to show fires in forested areas then it should be called Alberta Forest Fires.
If it’s has the Alberta name on it shouldn’t it include all of Alberta.

### 3/5 — Accurate?

*2023-05-30, version 1.11.0*

This app doesn’t match the AEA app. Not exactly sure why it doesn’t. Where does this app get its info????

Im more inclined to trust the AEA app.

### 3/5 — Map slow to update

*2023-05-05, version 1.10.0*

The app is helpful to find info quickly (regarding evacuation orders and bans). Unfortunately, the map takes a long time to load, and when it did there was no information on fire locations, despite so many currently burning in the province. I don’t know all the township and range roads, so I rely on the maps to help me know where the problems are.

### 3/5 — Blank page

*2023-05-05, version 1.10.0*

Every time I go in, I get a blank page
