## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — All chinese

*2020-03-30, version 8.2*

its all in chinese

### 1/5 — Won’t let you do anything but, the training.

*2019-05-12, version 8.2*

😠

### 1/5 — Get different app

*2019-01-27, version 8.2*

Doesn’t explain how to use

### 1/5 — Displeased

*2013-12-10, version 5.0*

I just downloaded this and cannot get it to open. Sounds like a good app, I will try again later.

### 1/5 — Confused

*2011-06-29, version 1.1*

There is no 'training mode' here. Unclear how to do it...Arrow buttons on top don't seem to do anything. Save your money.

### 1/5 — Where trade module?

*2011-06-27, version 1.1*

Have hard time to get this since where training manual?

### 2/5 — Only exercises

*2018-09-26, version 8.2*

I was looking for an aha us that I could manipulate any way I want.

### 2/5 — Not a good teaching app

*2015-04-06, version 7.1*

I was hoping this app would actually teach me the basics of how an abacus works. It just skips over any explanation or "how to" mode and, kind of tells you what to do in training mode.....can't figure it out!

### 3/5 — Basic

*2017-06-02, version 8.1*

Does have sound effects! Does not really teach about it but gives user a set of problems to carry out. It would be helpful to have an undo button, or a back button when you mess up. Needs to explain about carrying digits.

### 4/5 — Needs a little polish, but recommended

*2017-12-13, version 8.1*

Very helpful for learning the abacus by trial and error, solving the problems presented. There are some dialogs that are in Chinese while the query is in English. For example, “Are you really sure you want to switch modes?” will appear in English, but the response buttons will say “Yes” and “No” in Chinese. It would be great if there were more directions and you could easily step both forward and backward in the training mode (for example: switch from adding sequential numbers to 100 to adding a single large number multiple times and back again). But especially for a free app, this is great. Makes me think about numbers differently.

### 5/5 — Hi

*2020-11-11, version 8.2*

Great. Want more complex problems

### 5/5 — I love it!

*2020-08-03, version 8.2*

Very easy to use! I wish it got more difficult. I would love to learn multiplication

### 5/5 — Great

*2017-10-20, version 8.1*

It's free, easy to use, works great!

### 5/5 — Good practice for the brain

*2016-12-07, version 8.1*

Good practice for the brain
I just hope they post the diagram, and all formulas from
Addition, subtraction, multiplication , etch

### 5/5 — Yea!

*2014-12-13, version 6.0*

Love it. Keeps me smart.

### 5/5 — Best Abacus I've tried

*2013-10-27, version 5.0*

I've tried several, and I like this one best. You tap to slide the beads, but it still "feels" real with the sound effects.

The exercises have a consistent pattern (add 1, add 2, add 3 & so on). I'm a beginner, so I had to use all the skills I learned from the start: upper & lower beads, little friends of 5 & big friends of 10

This only has addition and subtraction problems, but I suppose one could use it for their own multiplication problems.

### 4/5 — great learning tool

*2016-07-28, version 7.2*

Great learning tool. would be nice to have an "undo" or "go back to previous step" feature for helping beginners get the mechanics down.

### 4/5 — Wonderful Teaching Aid

*2014-06-25, version 6.0*

Very nice program to help teach young people to formulate mathematical concepts using an abacus... Only reason 4 stars, very touchy (moves unintentionally - with no back button). Perfect with a touch screen pen. r/Scott
