I feel like there are too many apps (and too many teachers in school) that pretty much try and get children to memorize what words look like. That is too hard for my son. With this app, it focuses on sounding words out and it is helping a LOT! I am very glad that I purchased this app because he is reading better. This keeps him engaged in his learning while, with other apps and with his teachers, he doesn't get frustrated. He just keeps on playing the games on this app! This is by far the best app I have found that achieves both a fun game and learning at the same time. My daughter loves the storyline and the bright dynamic images of this app which keep her entertained whilst learning too. The sound and speech are very clear and easy to understand which is a must when trying to learn new words and sounds. Her favourite part is the train and being rewarded with virtual stickers, she is entertained for quite sometime which is nice as other games and apps she loses interest quite quickly. I will definitely upgrade to the full paid version after seeing how much fun and value she has had whilst playing this. The developers have done an amazing job combining learning and fun. This app does this by using an interactive story based game that children have to pick the right letters to move onto the next level and ultimately reach the treasure of Abby Island.
