However, the app loads street names on the name and more often than not populates the second name with some data. Titles and other info are also confused with the first name. The app works but it requires close attention and relatively significant time investment per each capture. I cannot find how to synchronize. It no longer seems to have the option of logging into an account for data retrieving. Cannot delete the app as I already invested hours saving 200+ business cards and paid for the pro version. I still have to correct a lot of the mis-captured cards. ### 2/5 — Fairly handy *2025-04-16, version 9.8.9* Works pretty well. A lot of editing after. Never gets everything right. Ex part of road address gets used as city. So, not a clarity of picture issue. Email addresses frequently spelled wrong. Overall handy though because you still have the picture. The picture is clear enough to easily read - no reason at all for imported typos and info in the wrong place. ### 2/5 — Lost Data *2024-10-21, version 9.8.9* Entered over 20 cards and the app suddenly closed and all entries were lost. Love the organization style and ways to filter, but found most entries required manual corrections and additional entries. Spent considerable time to have initial data all lost with the exception of 1 entry of 20. ### 3/5 — App Crashes iOS 16.1 *2024-09-26, version 9.8.9* App is okay, but I am tired of it asking me to turn on notifications… why do I need a card scanner app to have notifications, advertisements which is why I paid for the PRO version. I don’t want advertisements! ### 2/5 — Do not get the send request *2023-05-22* 1. It asks me each time if I want to send the business card to the email address that it found in the scan. Makes no sense and is annoying. 2. I do not understated the save to cards, contacts thing? What does this actually mean? 3. There is no way to change the camera. If I take a images with the Apple camera set to 3x, so the long lens, and use that: recognition is very good. If I use your internal camera button, it only offers the wide angle lens. This results in bad results as you can not go closer as then it gets blurry and be to far away is low resolution. Why can I not set the camera in the app? **Developer response:** As for the automatic sending of your business card to the email address found on the added contact, it can be turned off in the settings of the application (go to **Settings** » **Save automatically to email** » disable the **Send automatically** option. The Cardholder and Contacts saving option implies that the scanned business cards will be stored in BCR and iPhone Contacts. You may find more information on the product usage in our Help Center. I wasted $60 and had to get a different card scanner—one that actually works. This one couldn’t read *a single thing* on the first card I tried. The other one got the same card perfect and has more features. With no free trial and no refunds (which I didn’t learn until I tried to get one) this seems like a scam. Just a way to rip us off. Boo. ### 1/5 — Removal of sync feature *2024-05-27* I understand the costs and risks of maintaining a serve for syncing the contacts, but abruptly removing the feature without adding any alternative (like icloud sync, which is perfectly safe, or Dropbox) is a huge letdown **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Starting from September 18, 2023, ABBYY Business Card Reader for iOS no longer supports the feature of synchronization with the ABBYY Account as well as the BCR Web platform. However, all your scanned business cards, which are saved on your device, remain available and are not deleted from the application. You can continue working with the application as usual: scan, save, correct, and send business cards. In order to transfer business cards to another device, please follow the steps from the article: https://support.abbyy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006996979-Saving-a-backup-copy-of-the-Cardholder-in-BCR-for-iOS. Also, to ensure that you do not lose any important information, we recommend ensuring that iCloud backup is enabled. Now it is completely useless without synchronisation between devices and with the web. Now need to think how to migrate 1000 cards to another platform. ### 1/5 — In this release, we have removed the synchronization feature…. *2023-10-15, version 9.8.7* Abbyy are you kidding? « In this release, we have removed the synchronization feature for scanned business cards to ensure the safety of your data. » One can no longer sync scanned business cards between devices! As the app does not connect to iCloud it has become impossible to see a card scanned on the iPhone on any other iDevice you may have. Clearly going in the wrong direction - I now regret having nought this app as a local one device app is useless. ### 1/5 — Poor *2023-10-05, version 9.8.7* Support is non-existent, accuracy is only so so. Save your money ### 1/5 — Deleted all my contacts *2023-04-23, version 9.8.6* Recognition so bad it was easier to simplify type in all the info. Then, once I had scanned dozens of cards and thrown out the originals, it decided to delete all the contacts I had stored. Complete waste of money. ### 1/5 — Purchased. So I wasted $60 as there was no trial *2022-11-10, version 9.8.3* Bad decision, but it was a buy without a try. This is where buyer beware. Lesson learned. Recognition horrible, therefore not useful at all. I read the review, have the iPhone 14 pro, so good camera. I would say, take a pass on this one. Maybe in a few months there will be an upgraded.
