I’m very disappointed to discover that as a WA listener I can no longer set a local Timezone for ABC Kids radio, so my daughter and I no more longer listen to the full Good Morning program while getting ready for school. Please please make Kids radio one of the programs we can set a local Timezone for. ### 3/5 — Transitioning from abc kids *2026-07-26, version 9.32* The abc kids listen app was so user friendly, especially when you’re looking for something quickly to put on for the kids. But now that it’s all on this app, it’s a lot more messy. It took a bit to find the programs I wanted. it makes me wonder how much harder it would be for families that don’t have English as their first language. I would’ve recommended abc kids listen app to all parents. But I don’t know if I’d recommend this one to everyone. ### 2/5 — Bad app, great content *2026-07-21, version 9.32* Can’t queue podcasts, can’t download, is the only app that doesn’t recognise my car’s controls for skipping, just a terrible app for podcasts. I like to be able to customise my top three most visible radio stations and sport isn’t in my top 1000. I haven’t full explored all the changes yet- but right off the bat I noticed the lack of sport tab. I also appreciated being asked about my Interests…. That were quite a few on the long list- and sport was only one option (it may have extra options like music did but I wasn’t going to click to find out) Hopefully… my selected fave stations will be the only ones on the short list :) ### 3/5 — Needs a custom queue option *2026-07-08, version 9.32* Lots of great podcasts. My rating dropped 2 stars because of the lack of being able to create a custom queue. That’s the main reason I listen via Apple Podcasts and not via this App. Please create a custom queue. ### 4/5 — Rewind option? *2026-07-06, version 9.32* Five stars if you add a 10second skip back and forward or a pause for the Sport feeds! Syncing up the TV with the ABC commentary is an Aussie must. It plays next episode which is newest , it doesn’t play next inline ### 3/5 — Autoplay function with audiobooks is frustrating *2026-06-27, version 9.31* I am an avid user of ABC listen, particularly as I like the content. However using the autoplay function that plays the next chapter of an auto book or podcasts is very frustrating. Content is loaded with most recent editions at the top of the list and books with chapters in chapter order - seems like it makes sense. However the autoplay works by progressing from the bottom up and so podcasts published in multiple parts and books play in reverse order. Why can’t users select the direction in which autoplay progresses or, if this is too difficult, why can’t users alter the sort sequence of the content list? ### 4/5 — Time to have a break 'option *2026-06-18, version 9.30.1* Could the developers of the ABC listen app have an option "remind me to take a break". Y.T has that option so I won't drain the battery flat on my iphone. On the abc app, I frequently forget to "adjust the sleep timer" while listening to the radio. It would be good if it can remember my last choice with "on sleep timer. The ap drops out frequently while driving in the bush. It drops out 90% of time on the top of the hour ie news time. Most frustrating. ### 2/5 — No fast forward button *2026-06-01, version 9.30* If only you could fast forward through the presenter’s introduction. If you want to listen to something like Peaceful Piano you have to listen to the introductions every time and can’t fast forward through them. The BBC app so much better. ### 2/5 — Performance Issues *2026-05-18, version 9.29.1* The ABC app attempts a ”heroic” act of squeezing far too much content into a performance constrained architecture. Its taken Napoleon’s adage “quantity has a quality all of its own”! It has attempted to load far too much functionality which impacts end users. Please reduce functionality to reduce my iPhone being bricked so often. Or allow the user to configure what they require! Not good enough! ### 4/5 — Love this app *2026-05-13, version 9.29* This is my most used media and podcasting app. It is the best. One bit of criticism if you could get it to stop playing old episodes after you finish the most recent one it’s really annoying and it’s hard to keep your place. Let’s shut it down and push everyone to this instead… ### 1/5 — Bad update *2026-06-23, version 9.31* App no longer continues playing audio in background if you go to homescreen or start using any another app on iphone. Really bad. ### 1/5 — full of glitches *2026-05-14, version 9.29* This app needs a complete rebuild. When you touch a command button it takes 10 seconds before responding. The app also shuts down without warning or stops playing when you start using other apps. I've tried reinstalling without any difference. I used to listen live and later to the wonderful world of ABC audio daily… but no more, simply because the app crashes constantly. And often after only listening for about 10-20 seconds. It doesn’t and never has worked. I’ve typed in exactly what the website says — “Play ABC Radio Melbourne on ABC Listen” — and it doesn’t work, instead Siri says I have to use the app. Now that ABC stations have been removed from Apple Music and Sonos Radio, I’ve lost everything except Radio National and Radio Sydney — I want Radio Melbourne.
